This information will be shared with the judges and audience during the introduction phase of the scholarship pageant. 3 Clothing for Pageant and Tea Tea: A Sunday or business dress will be appropriate (please wear panty hoses and heels at the judges request). Opening group dance routine: This will be your first appearance on stage. We will provide you with a green T-shirt at rehearsal. You should have a pair of non-holy blue jeans, white tennis shoes (flat Ked s style) and white socks. The T-shirts will be worn tucked in and wearing a belt will be your choice. Meet the Contestants - Business Dress Competition: This is your second appearance on stage. This is an individual appearance where you introduce yourself to the audience. A Sunday type dress or business suit with panty hoses will be needed for this portion. You may use the same outfit for both occasions. No strapless dresses, sport-type outfits, sequins or cocktail dresses are allowed for this portion of the Pageant. Casual Competition: This is your third appearance on stage. This is an individual appearance (no speaking on your part) in casual attire. Casual wear is defined as a reasonable length skirt (not mini-skirt) or full-length trousers slacks of a non-jeans material combined with a top (such as a dress shirt blouse, polo, or sweater set) is considered acceptable. An informal dress with appropriate skirt length is also acceptable. We recommend you wear shoes that complement your outfit and that are comfortable. Part of your scoring is on originality. Feel free to spice up your outfit with accessories (scarfs, etc) that once again complement your outfit. Evening Gown: This is your final appearance on stage. You may wear any long gown of your choice (no belly, navel or excess cleavage shown will be allowed). Do not feel that you must wear green! Wear a color that compliments your appearance. Remember that two stage lights will be on you at all times and you do NOT want them to shine through your dress. Please be sensible in your evening gown choice. The judges usually tend to score lower for dresses that show too much skin, excessively low cut or high slit dresses are discouraged. 4 Criteria for Contestants Contestants should be between the ages of 16 and 21 at the time of the pageant. Must be a full or part-time high school or college student maintaining a C average. Must be single, having never married, and have no dependents (does not include engagements). Must be a Laurens County resident or currently attending a school in Laurens County. Must never have won the St. Patrick s Scholarship Pageant. Must attend all meetings and scheduled rehearsals for contestants. (This is mandatory in order to compete in the pageant) The winner must be prepared to attend all required St. Patrick s Events. Must furnish two personal references with phone numbers who will be contacted by the pageant chairperson. Must be able to attend dance rehearsal on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Theatre Dublin. Tennis shoes will be required at this rehearsal. Friday, February 16, 2018 at 4 p.m. will be the full rehearsal at Theatre Dublin. You are encouraged to bring shoes for all outfits to this rehearsal. The pageant will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Theatre Dublin. You should be at the theatre with everything needed for the pageant by 6:30 p.m.. Must be able to attend the Miss St. Patrick s Tea on Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2018 for the interview session of the pageant. Interview times will be assigned later. Must turn in official school transcript at the time you turn in your application. Morality Clause: The participant shall have NONE of the following: criminal arrests, disciplinary actions at school resulting in-in school or home suspension and/or pregnancies. These listed reflect unfavorably on the St. Patrick s Scholarship Pageant, the Pilot Club of Dublin, and any sponsor of a program. In doing so, the participate will be asked to step-down as a participant of the Miss St. Patrick s Scholarship Pageant. The Pilot Club of Dublin reserves the final say-so in all situations.
