1 PMMS Mustang News Dr. Jasmine Kullar, Principal August 26, 2016 News from Dr. Kullar Teacher of the Month A huge congratulations to Ms. Jennifer Brownlee for being nominated our teacher of the month. Ms. Brownlee has been at Pine Mountain for 15 years and is a highly valued and respected member of our team. She is a dedicated teacher who always does what is best for our students and school. We appreciate her!!! 5 Labor Day/No school 9 -Mighty Mustang Award -8th grade band and chorus night at KMHS Staff of the Month A huge congratulations or Mr. Jade Ivey for being nominated our staff of the month. Mr. Ivey wears many hats as he does so much for our school! In addition to being our ISS teacher, Mr. Ivey also works closely with administration. He is always willing to step in and help whenever he can!!! 2 6th Grade Students of the Week Kerolyn Reed is an active participant in class. She completes all assignments and gives her best each day. She is helpful to others and is a good peer tutor. Myles Ford is an avid reader and language enthusiast. He is an active participant in class who encourages others to join the fun. Myles has lots of positive energy that he pours into learning. 6th grade teachers 7th Grade Students of the Week Chris McFadden is always on task and very respectful. He is a hard worker who is always there to assist his classmates when they need help. Alexa Reluzco Oberle always comes to class with high levels of energy and excitement. She is always engaged and eager to participate in class. Humanities teachers 8th Grade Students of the Week Clarissa Yanez is a very dedicated math student! She asks for help when she does not understand. She volunteers in class. She puts her learning first. Clarrisa is setting a great example for all of her peers. Thomas Villalobos is our MATH student of the week! He is a pleasure to teach. Thomas is respectful, hard-working, and conscientious. He is a role model for peers in Advanced 8 th MATH. Congratulations! Keep up the good work! - STEM Teachers We would like to highlight Ms. Ann Sherman this week! Ms. Sherman has shown such flexibility this year as she took on the assignment of teaching math, in addition to Spanish. But best of all, her recognition is due to her incredible hard work and dedication as she led our 8th grade social studies team last year the results of her efforts showed 8th grade social studies making the most improvement in all of Cobb County with an increase of 24%! Way to go happy that you re on our team Ms. Sherman!! - Jasmine Kullar, Principal

PTSA Reflections It s time to work on your entry for this year! The theme is : What Is Your Story? Students can enter in any of the following categories: visual arts, photography, music composition, literature, film production, or dance. Come by the media center to pick up an entry form and rules packet. Entries are due October 7, Annual Military Care Package Operation - Donation DEADLINE EXTENDED Please help us send care packages to deployed service members. It is a wonderful away to show our appreciation for all they do for us. **Please help spread the word.** Last year's event was a huge success. We would love to match the number of boxes of 100 assembled or even more this year. All donated items will be need to be delivered by 8/28 please. The deadline has been extended to give us all more time to make a bigger impact. The donation drop off points will be my home, my office, and with our longtime supporters: Bounce U of Kennesaw and Aqua Tots of Kennesaw. I will coordinate with you to pick them up too. Thanks so much Stephanie Rice and Malena Hankins for everything! Look for the military collection barrels. Volunteers are welcome and needed to organize the donations and assemble the packages on 08/31 at 6:30 pm at BounceU. Please me (Melissa@ThinkMelissa.com) to volunteer.

4 MUSTANG BASKETBALL JUNIOR MUSTANGS - competitive basketball for players in the 6 th,7 th, and 8 th grades. All students living in the KMHS district are eligible to tryout. TRYOUT SCHEDULE: SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 18 TH AT KENNESAW MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL, GIRLS TRYOUT WILL BEGIN AT 1PM AND BOYS TRYOUT WILL BEGIN AT 4PM.
