1 WANGARATTA FESTIVAL OF DANCE INC. SCHEDULE FOR 2018 DATES: th of May th of May 2018 VENUE: WANGARATTA PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE Ovens Street, WANGARATTA. HISTORY - WANGARATTA FESTIVAL OF DANCE In 1997, the first dance competition was held under the Wangaratta Eisteddfod Society for their fortieth year and final competition. The popular dance section then evolved and continued to grow as the Wangaratta Festival of Dance. The festival was formed by a group of interested people who are actively engaged in the encouragement of all aspects of dance and believe in the continued support for the promotion, appreciation and participation of the performing arts for the children and youth of our region. Each year, young performers visit our city to compete and share their talents on our stage. WANGARATTA FESTIVAL OF DANCE INC The Wangaratta Festival of Dance Incorporated is a not for profit organisation. Monies received from entries and sponsorship is distributed for prizes and running expenses. Our major expense, the hiring of Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre, is only possible because of the generous support of sponsors and local businesses. Any individuals, families or businesses who would like to financially support our competition are warmly welcomed, appreciated and recognised.
