1 Welcome Letter From CSA s Executive Director and Board of Directors President The CSA Board of Directors and CSA Coaching staff would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to tryouts for the season. In 2009, CSA was created with the merger between South Charlotte Soccer Association and Charlotte Soccer Club to create the city s only full service club offering every level of play to its member families. Four years ago, we welcomed the members of MUFC (Mecklenburg Union Futbol Club) to the CSA family. Last year, we were pleased to announce the merger between ourselves and FCCA (FC Carolina Alliance), a longstanding and respected Club serving Cabarrus County and the surrounding area. We are also excited to be entering our second year of our newest program, CSA Huntersville. In its inaugural season, CSA Huntersville had an overall enrollment of 300 players and we look forward to extending that opportunity to more children in that area. The first eight years have been a fantastic success and as we enter year nine, we are very excited at continuing our mission to be one of the country s top level clubs. CSA will continue providing children an opportunity to enjoy a higher level of soccer while still benefiting from team experiences in the same manner as in the past. The club continues to foster this family atmosphere while providing a soccer experience at the highest level of play available in the Carolinas and at the National level. Our full time Directors of Coaching and Executive Director provide a professional soccer atmosphere and a level of experience unsurpassed in the Charlotte region. CSA is proud to be a member of US Soccer s Development Academy. We are one of only 80 clubs in the nation and one of four in North Carolina to offer all age groups available at this highest level of youth soccer on the men s side. CSA is also excited about the announcement of being recognized as one of the leading girls program in the country, having been offered a spot in the new USSDA program for girls to begin its inaugural season in CSA is one of only 71 clubs in the country and one of only two in the state of North Carolina to be given this opportunity to play at the highest level in the country. CSA is also one of only two clubs in North and South Carolina to offer all levels of play for youth soccer. The CSA coaching philosophy is to bring young players together in a common setting of positive instruction based on the fundamentals of the game while instilling a personal sense of self-worth; both to themselves and the common good of the team. Each player has a part in striving to attain the team's goals for the season. At CSA, our goal is to provide a professional and family environment where players can improve their soccer skills, learn the lessons that playing in a competitive team sport environment brings and, most importantly, enjoy the experience and stay involved with the game, in some capacity, for the rest of their life. While winning is important, it is not the only thing, which is why a major part of our program is player development. Good luck in your tryouts! Brad Wylde CSA Executive Director Jim Cantalupo CSA Board President
2 Charlotte Soccer Academy Post-Tryout Information How do I find out if my child made a team? No offers will be made at the tryout venue. To be fair to all players, the coaches must spend every possible moment evaluating the players. At the venue, the coaches will be unavailable to answer questions or discuss teams or players.
