Back by popular demand, the treat carts will be rolling around again this year! For three days, carts will be filled with a daily treat for each teacher and staff member. We would love to have your help! There are several ways to donate either time or items to help these three days run smoothly. Please see below for our volunteer needs! Treat Cart donations needed! (Most items should be individually wrapped.) Breakfast Cart- Ideas include: homemade breakfast goodies, muffins, scones, breakfast breads/bars, cut up fruit. 2 Page 2 8th Grade AMMS Carnival Themed Dance Attention 8 th graders! Come to the biggest party of the year and your LAST at Autrey Mill! The 8 th grade dance and party will be on Wednesday, May 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is the night before the last day of school. This year s dance party will be IN THE GYM! The dress is party attire non-formal dresses for girls and button down shirts for the guys. Please observe the dress code. Our theme this year is CARNIVAL! We are bringing a carnival into the gym with DJ Melvin on the stage, a midway of carnival games, green screen photos, carnival entertainment and pizza, popcorn, and cotton candy. There will also be a TRAIN outside with rides for all! There will be lots of surprises, so you don t want to miss it! At the end of the evening, we will show the 8 th grade farewell DVD made by your teachers. The dance is FREE to 8 th graders. No need to buy a ticket or bring money. Only 8 th graders at AMMS may attend. No friends or family members/parents, please. It s CARNIVAL time! 5 Page 5 Dress Code Warm Weather Coming Soon! With the warm weather fast approaching, the following dress code guidelines must be followed. All students shall dress appropriately so as not to interfere with or disrupt the educational program. Bare midriffs, tank tops and see-through clothing are not acceptable. Shorts and skirts that are any shorter than mid-thigh are not permitted. Designated dress for specific school activities approved by the principal shall be acceptable. The principal or other authorized school official shall determine whether any particular mode of dress results in a violation of the spirit and/or intent of this rule.

The ipad plays an important role during instruction, therefor it is important that it is ready for use at the start of the day. Show your Gladiator team spirit by joining this fun and award-winning team! Color Guard performs with the Marching Band at all football halftime shows and competitions. Color Guard also is part of the Marching Band spirit section at all football games. There will be a special Band trip this year, too!
