2 Winter Carnival 2017 MAYOR S MESSAGE Welcome to the 28th Annual Schreiber Winter Carnival- the Number One annual winter festival along the North Shore! Our town Committee s and our wonderful volunteers have come together to bring you the best Winter Carnival yet with a schedule full of exciting fun events for everyone! On behalf of the Council and staff I want to wish everyone a great few days and remember to thank a volunteer at every event! This year s festivities will officially kick off with Junior Pictionary happening Wednesday February 22, 2017 where we will announce the 2017 Winter Carnival Royalty! We are excited this year to be partnering with the Schreiber Back Northerner s in bringing you the best ever Back North Poker Run! New events this year include a Senior s Afternoon, a Karaoke Party and a Family Fun Snow Day! Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors who have come forward to make Winter Carnival a success! Community Connections will be played on the big screen! 6:00 PM 2017 WINTER CARNIVAL TRADITIONAL SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALL SUPPER! **Winter Carnival Cash Draw Winners Announced** Event: Pasta Dinner & Winter Carnival Mega Cash Draw Calling Hosted by: Schreiber Parks and Recreation Committee Location: Schreiber Recreation Centre Admission: $15 Adults; $10 Children 5 to 12; 4 and under eat free Noodles or penne with meatballs, served with salad and a dessert. Bundle up the family, top off the sleds, and come out to enjoy an eventful afternoon! Adult first prize is guaranteed $ cash! Camp and route to be determined! 10 Saturday February 25, :30 am 6:30 pm Event: Vintage Snowmobile Show Hosted By: The Schreiber Back Northerner s and the North Shore Iron Dog s Location: Schreiber Recreation Center Bring out your vintage pre 1982 machines for the classic snowmobile show hosted by the Schreiber Back Northerner s and the North Shore Iron Dogs. Ride the Run on your classic machine or drop it off at the Schreiber Recreation Centre the Show N Shine! Prizes for the oldest machine to complete the Poker Run as well as for People s Choice at the Show N Shine! Vintage Snow Machine drop off for the Show N Shine is 9:30 am. Voting for people s choice will take place 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm! 1:00 pm Event: Winter Carnival Poker Walk/Drive Hosted By: The Township of Schreiber End Location: Schreiber Rec Centre Participants fifty-five or older will start at the Public Library by purchasing a Poker Walk map for $5.00. Participants will then travel to five different businesses to receive one playing card from each. Once all five cards are collected the participant will go to the Community Hall to submit their hand, the best hand wins a prize (cash amount of registration). Route will take about 1 hour at a light to moderate pace to complete.five stations: Cebrario s Hardware, Spadoni s Homeland Furniture, Filane s Dollar N More, Speziale s Pro Hardware and Schreiber Public Library. Winner s Announced at 3:00 pm!

12 Sunday February 26, :00 AM 1:00 PM Event: Winter Guided Hike Hosted By: The Casque Isle Hiking Club Starting Location: Kick off the Family Fun Snow Day by joining us for a Guided Hike showcasing the beautiful winter landscape on the Casque Isle Hiking Trail! 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Event: Family Fun Snow Day! Hosted by: Schreiber Fire Department Location: Winnipeg Street Sliding Hill Come participate in this great afternoon of family fun! Sliding Party: Bring your GT or toboggan, sled or whatever can get you down the hill! Road Hockey: Bring your sticks and take part in some good old fashioned road hockey! Teams to be determined based on splitting on sticks at the beginning of each game! Games will be 15 minutes long! There will be two sets of nets for game play! Snowshoe Races: Come out and test your skills in Snow Shoe Races!! This event has become a carnival favourite! Hot Dogs and Hot Chocolate will be available for purchase compliments of the Schreiber Fire Department. And Maple Syrup Snow Cone Treats from our local Francophone Club! 6:00 PM Event: BINGO Hosted by: Schreiber-Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club Location: Schreiber Legion Admission: $20.00 Come out to good old fashioned Bingo for your chance to win TWO Jackpots of $ each!
