Spring Break and then all of our festivals starting with Standing Ovations Fort Saskatchewan! NO CLASSES! Due to group rehearsal on Tues March 6 th and Wed March 7 th there will be NO EVENING CLASSES THOSE NIGHTS. Daytime classes will operate as normal on the 6 th & 7 th.d There are also no classes from Monday March 26 th through Saturday March 31 st due to Spring Breaks. All classes will resume Monday April 2 nd. If you have any questions regarding festival etiquette or rules, please do not hesitate to contact the office. There is also information on the website under the festivals tab. If classes are cancelled due to conflicts with festival performances, you will receive notice. The teachers spend a lot of time with students prior to their festival performances, so we do not schedule makeup classes. Hope you enjoy the break, and come back to class ready to work hard. Register online or in the office. Studio will be open 830am for early drop off and until 530pm for late pick up. DANCEFUSION APPAREL ORDER Back by popular demand! We are placing another hoodie order just in time for festival season. Orders need to be submitted online and payments received to the office by Sunday March 11 th. There is currently a sizing kit in the office. The hoodies are as pictured on the order form black.the Dancefusion logo will be on the front left chest and DANCEFUSION will be along the bottom back. Please go here to view a picture of the hoodie and to place your order. No paper order forms please. If you are having difficulties with the order form please contact Tina Marie and she will manually enter the order for you. HERE IS THE LINK TO ORDER MAKEUP & HAIR TUTORIAL Miss Cally is offering a free tutorial for any DFAD students interested. This will be held Saturday March 10th from 6-7pm at Dancefusion. Please add your name to the signup sheet on bulletin board if interested. You will need to bring your hair pieces and makeup. SOLO/ DUET SHOW THUR MAR 22 nd Did you forget to sign up for the Solo/ Duet/ Small group show? Here is one last chance to do so. We ve opened the signup sheet until March 7th. 2 ARE YOU A GRADUATING STUDENT? Every year we invite graduating DFAD students to perform one of the solos or duets in the year end recital. If you have a piece you would like to showcase, please contact the office so we can add you to the schedule. We will need to know which show you would like to perform in and what solo you are doing. Even if you don t have an extra choreography please advise the office if you are graduating, as we like to acknowledge all of our grads. YEAR END RECITAL DFAD s 21 st Year End Recital is scheduled for the weekend of June 1 st. We try and schedule around graduations, so if you know you are attending a graduation that weekend please let us know by March 23 rd so we can try and make accommodations in our schedule. GROUP REHEARSALS Please see attached schedule (below). We understand that there may be some groups that have dancers back to back. DFAD staff will make changes (within your time block) so that students have time to change between numbers (if applicable). Please remember to arrive at Festival place 30 minutes before your scheduled time block. (ie: if you dance in the pm time block..arrive by 7 pm) There will be change rooms available for students so please do not arrive in costume. The document below also indicates which groups will have dress rehearsal (costume) and which ones will not. The students are not required to have their group hair and stage makeup for the rehearsal. All of Miss Cally's, Miss Laurie's, Miss Kyra's & Richard's are not doing a dress rehearsal. However, dance need to be in proper dance attire, with the appropriate footwear. All hair/ makeup sheets that have been given to the office have been uploaded to your class portal for you to view. You can also find the DFAD general makeup sheet on the portal as well. Please note that this night is only for groups who are participating in festival. Unfortunately we do have any control over when the schedules come to us and which ones come in first. When DFAD receives a schedule from the host we go through it to double check all our entries are included. We then post a copy of our entries on the Festival board outside the office, on our main website ( and the parent portal. We also send this 1 st draft out via to notify you that it has arrived. This is a DRAFT schedule. Studios will have a limited time to send in any revisions to the host. The host will then come out with their FINAL version. All DRAFTS and the FINAL version will be posted to the above places. We will not inundate parents with multiple s with the various versions. It will be the parents responsibility to locate the most recent version of the schedule and verify that their child s performance time has not changed.
