Send $10 in an envelope with your child s name and we will make sure one is delivered to them when they come in! NEWS FROM MR. HANK CARLEY SBCS Receives Koch Foundation's Culture of Excellence Grant On January 4, 2018 at the Diocese of Evansville Catholic Center, The Koch Foundation announced that St. Benedict Cathedral School was one of the recipients of a Culture of Excellence Grant. The grant is to provide opportunities for the school to permanently raise the levels of excellence in the spiritual, academic, social, and physical education of their students to prepare them to assume leadership roles in their chosen fields based on Catholic values. SBCS is in the process of gathering feedback from stakeholders while also collaborating with other Catholic schools who received the grant. The grant is for a three-year period and will begin in July Thank you to the Koch Foundation for their generosity and strong support of Catholic schools. CAFETERIA POLICY CHANGES EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Students with negative balances in their cafeteria account may not purchase items beyond a standard lunch tray. For students to receive an extra water, extra milk, extra entrees and or a smart snack, there must be sufficient funds in their account to cover the costs of these items. 5th-8th grade may order extras in the morning during homeroom provided they don t have a negative cafeteria balance. Extra entrée is $1.50, water $.50, smart snacks $1.00 each limit 1 per day. Please be mindful and keep a positive cafeteria account balance. CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK JANUARY 29TH-FEBRUARY 2ND We have several exciting things planned for this week! Stay tuned. PTO MARDI GRAS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH, 6pm to Midnight Mardi Gras invitations along with the reservation cards went home earlier in the week with your kiddos. Get a table of 8 with all your friends and support PTO s biggest fundraiser of the year. The event is being held at the new Double Tree by Hilton Downtown. New this year, is a live band, The Dave & Rae Band from Indianapolis! Returning this year is our online bidding to big on silent & live auctions. Send in your RSVP s today! IMPORTANT ISTEP TESTING DATES 3rd-8th Grade students will be testing on the following dates: ISTEP+ Part 1 February 26, 2018-March 9, 2018 IREAD-3rd Grade March 12,2018-March 16, 2018 ISTEP+ Part 2 April 16, 2018-May 4,2018 Parents, it is important that you DO NOT schedule any appointments during this time. If you have something already on these dates, please reschedule. SUMMER SOCIAL PRIZES Anyone cleaning out toys or trinkets to make room for new ones?
