Early Release Days are also Spirit Days, so wear your spirit shirt or organizational shirt, along with your favorite jeans! There is no cost on Spirit Days! Family Involvement Commitment Balance sheets will go home at the beginning of next week. Balances will be through April 18th. Please look over the sheet closely to make sure everything is correct. If you are unsure, or know that something is missing, please contact Trish at as soon as possible. Final balance sheets will go home the first week of May. There have incidents during both arrival and dismissal where drivers are cutting through parking lots and passing other cars. For the safety of our students, we ask that you remain in the arrival/dismissal lane and proceed with caution and vigilance. This is our children s safety zone, and we need you on our side. The SMMCS Chess Club will meet on April 27th and May 4th after school. Go to astros/tickets/info/catholic for ticket information. Page 2 The Archdiocesan Chess Tournament will take place on May 5th. 3 We are so proud to introduce our newest members of the SMMCS National Junior Honor Society! Exhibits must be setup before 8:00am on April 25th. ALL SMMCS families and friends are invited to see the exhibits in person on the 26th in St. Mary s Hall. Exhibits must be removed by 4:00pm in the 26th. The 5th grade students arrived safe and sound! Camp Kappe has a long standing tradition of being a right of passage for our 5th grade students as they prepare for middle school life. We miss you and cannot wait to see you tomorrow! Please join us on Sunday, May 13th (Mother s Day) for the 11:00am Mass in celebration of SMMCS! The school will be receiving the 2nd collection for this Mass. Page 3

The students were able to see the inside of both an ambulance and the fire engine. The best part though, was the water spray from the top of the fire truck! St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church is looking for experienced part time nursery attendants for its Mother's Day Out program, which will open later this year. The position will be 20 hours/plus per week.
