Introduction The Statue of Liberty is very interesting. In this book you will be learning about the history, where it came from and why it is in the U.S.A. Some questions you might have are, "How did the Statue turn green?" "How long did it take to build?," and "Who made it?." This book will take you on an adventure of my knowledge about the Statue of Liberty.
Chapter 1: Describing Lady Liberty The Statue of Liberty is a beautiful carving of a woman she is very famous.she always has visitors a mostly all day and every day. Location The Statue of Liberty is on an Island called Liberty Island a few miles away from New York in the Unites States. The Statue of Liberty is also surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Green Changes The Statue was first copper but then it turned green. how can that be?first the Statue was copper because it was made out of copper.however the weather caused the statue to turn green. Acid rain soon caused it to become a green color. Weather always affects an object when it is exposed to its conditions for a long period of time. This is how the Statue of Liberty turned green.
Freedom of Liberty The Statue of Liberty stands for two different things The torch on the Statue stands for Liberty as opposed to the Statue itself stand for freedom.the Statue stands for many things from friendship between different nations to freedom.
Chapter 2 : The Statue's Past The Statue has many things to its past like where did it come from? and why is it in the U.S.A.? I hope you figure out those answers in this chapter so good luck and find out. Originated It came from France it was a gift from to America. a French man made the Statue of Liberty and gave it to America. His name is Frederic Auguste Bartholdi he is artist, and he is also is famous for his sculptures. U.S.A. A French man wanted to give it to the U.S.A. as a present which stands for freedom.the Civil War came to an end Frederic was famous for making big statues so he came to the Unites States to talk about his Idea. So he made the Statue of Liberty. So he sent the Statue of Liberty to America
Chapter 3:How Was The Statue made? Building Time The Statue of Liberty was built by the French using sheeting of pure copper on a Framework of steel with exception of the Flame of the torch which is coated with golden leaf. Re-Building The reason why they had to re-build the Statue of Liberty is because time & weather damaged it. building the Statue of Liberty
Who Made It? A French man made the Statue of Liberty. His name is Frederic Augusta Bartholdi.Frederic makes a lot of sculptures. He is famous for his work. As again he made the statue of liberty. He makes sculptures and he is also an artist. He was a french sculptor who was best known for his designing of the statue of liberty. Frederic Bartholdi was born on August 2, 1834 in Colmar France and he died October 4, 1904 in Paris France. His parents are Augusta Charlotte Bartholdi and Jean Charles Bartholdi. Frederic Augusta Bartholdi
Chapter 4: Visiting the statue of liberty is a great time. When you visit the statue of liberty when you go inside you will notice that the statue of liberty has elevators stairs and has windows in the crown. Open To Public The statue of liberty is open to the public at 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The reason why its open to the public is because it is publicity funded by operating on tax money. Money Cost So do you have to pay to get in why yes. So the prices to get in the statue of liberty are $28 for adults,$19 for children, and $24 for seniors. The tickets provide access to the grounds of the statue of liberty on liberty island, plus the Ellis Island Museum on the Ellis Island.
Bonus Facts 1:The chain There is a chain at the bottom. Of the Statue of Libertys foot And it also stands for freedom. It represents that all people Should stand and be free At once/ and all together. 2:The Eleven Stars The reason why there are eleven stars at the base of the statue is because there was eleven attacks called the statue and liberty
Conclusion Well now you are at the end of this book. I really hope you enjoyed itand learned a lot of new things you did not know before. So would you like to know other facts? Well read some of those bonus facts right away.the book had a lot of facts about the statue of liberty. So did you learn how the statue of liberty turn green, because I heard you wanted to know.
