2 NPGA Open Shows: Entry fees for SCPGA members are $8 per goat, per class and $10 for Non-SCPGA members. Late entries postmarked after March 15, 2018 or entered at the show will be $12 per goat, per class. NPGA Youth/4-H/FFA: SCPGA youth members are $6 per goat, per class and $8 for Non-SCPGA youth members. Mail Entries and Entry Fees to: SCPGA Attn: Denise Fraser 1783 E Main St. El Cajon, CA Feed & Shavings: Carter s Hay & Grain will make alfalfa and bagged shavings available for sale at the show. Housekeeping: There are wash racks, water faucets and electricity on the grounds. You will need to bring your own hoses and extension cords if so desired. Please clean up after yourselves and use trash cans for all trash; NOT bedding or manure. Please keep fire lanes open; to be courteous, please use water sparingly. Restrooms are in the cinderblock building on the Rodeo grounds side of the fence; look for the signs. Pens: A limited number of pens are available at the show grounds. Pens are $10 per pen for the weekend (there will not be any prorating if not used for the full weekend). No bedding is provided and all bedding placed will need to be cleaned before leaving the fairgrounds; we will have volunteers offering to clean pens for you at $10.00 per pen paid at check in or with entry fees. The pens are approximately 4'x5' livestock panel type pens. All pre-paid entries postmarked by the early registration due date and received with payment in full will be guaranteed their reserved pens; pens will be assigned and marked for your convenience. You will need to bring your own clips for closure and they may require extra concessions for kids, bucks and jumpers. You may also bring your own pens if preferred or use trailers as parking is available near the show arena. Food: Donuts, coffee, some snack food, as well as non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase; there are also fast food options across the road. We will take pre-order pizza orders at check-in for lunch. Overnight Camping: There is currently no overnight camping available at the show arena. If you are traveling a distance, our local members may be willing to host a dry camping spot for you at one of their nearby homes or facilities. There are also two RV camp grounds with full hook-ups available within minutes of the Jr. Fair Grounds 1. Santee Lakes: a. Reservations call (619) or visit their reservation website at b. From the East (As in Arizona): Take I-8 W toward San Diego; Take exit #23/Lake Jennings Park Road; Turn right onto Lake Jennings Park Rd; Continue on Mapleview St to Vine Street; make right onto Vine Street and a right into the Eastern San Diego County Jr. Fair Grounds Silent Auction Items, Youth Prizes & Cash Donations: We will hold a silent auction; donation items or cash donations are welcome from you or your local business. Silver Sponsor: Sponsor the Show at $20 and receive special recognition in our show program for all to view and recognition on our sponsor poster for the sponsorship of a Champion Class; just provide the name and business name or herd name you want featured with the sponsorship fee. Gold Sponsor: Sponsor the Show at $40 and receive special recognition in our show program for all to view, recognition on our sponsor poster for the sponsorship of a Grand Champion Class; just provide the name and business name or herd name you want featured with the sponsorship fee. Platinum Sponsor: Sponsor the club at $365 (that is a $1.00/day) as an annual sponsor and receive special recognition in every show program for all to view; just send us a ½ page ad of your design in a jpg. format with the sponsorship fee. 5 General Rules: 1. The Southern California Pygmy Goat Association is the governing authority for this event. NPGA Rules will govern the show and take precedence as related to Judging. 2. Participation is open to all owners of NPGA registered pygmies upon receipt of proper applications and fees. ONLY the Open Wether and Youth/4-H/FFA shows are open to unregistered animals. 3. All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, except in the event that the show is cancelled. 4. Any non-sufficient funds checks must be resolved prior to the deadline for which they were written or all prior fees will be forfeited and those entries will be ineligible to compete. In the event of an insufficient funds check, a $25 service fee will be applied to cover bank fees. Any unresolved fees will render the entrant ineligible to compete until the matter is resolved and may affect the ability to pay by check in the future. 5. All animals will be judged according to NPGA breed standards by a licensed NPGA judge. 6. ORIGINAL registration papers must be present at check in and must remain available throughout the show; copies are not acceptable. 7. Any doe receiving two champion wins, or buck receiving three champion wins, must show proof of registered or recorded offspring before competing in the Senior Division. A progeny sticker affixed to the registration paper, or the offspring's registration paper are acceptable ways of validating that the animal entered in the show meets this requirement. 8. Animals must show in their sanctioned age class at the show. If the animal is ineligible to be shown in the sanctioned class due to previous Grand Champion wins, the show chairperson must be notified in writing at least two weeks prior to the show. Only in that case will an effort be made to provide a separate class for entries. 9. NO tattooing or microchipping is allowed at any time after a goat has been shown in its age class (i.e. before the Junior/Senior/Grand Champion lineups). NPGA rules state that all goats must be tattooed or microchipped before entering its first class of the day. 10. Exhibitors are NOT to show animals (does & bucks) registered in the judges herd name(s) during their respective show(s); there is an exception for the youth show: Lil Champs or Horns n Roses (Open show only). It is the exhibitor s responsibility to make sure that this doesn't happen, not the show chair persons, show secretary or the judge(s). 11. Any grievance or protest must be submitted to the Show Committee Denise Fraser or Danica James by the close of the last show on 03/24/2018 and 03/25/2018 respectively. Page 5 of 7
