Registration Process: Step 1: Create Profile if you are new to NAVC or Sign In to your profile if returning and register for tryouts. Step 2: Go to SRVA and complete the registration process for SRVA The fee for tryouts is $50 and must be paid in advance, players may register for tryouts at Walk Up Registration on day of tryouts Our registration desk will open 45 minutes prior to the first session of each age groups tryouts. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to tryout time. If you are planning to register on the day of tryouts fee is $65 What Should I have When I Come to Tryouts? You will print both of these forms from the SRVA web site at completion of registration. 1. SRVA (Southern Region Volleyball Association) Form completed
2. USAV Medical Release Form Completed (this is copy of form, USAV will publish from in September) 3. WE DO NOT NEED BIRTH CERTIFICATES AT TRYOUTS Tryout Format During the initial try out date we will have a seminar regarding NAVC as well as club volleyball overall. It is VERY IMPORTANT even for returning players families for one parent/guardian to attend this seminar during the tryout. The seminar will begin approximately 30 minutes after the start time of tryouts and last for approximately 15 minutes. This season at NAVC we will not have call backs all players will have two tryout sessions, exception is our year old teams. Our year old teams will have one evaluation session on Sunday October 15 th. If your goal is to make a 1 s or 2 s team you need to attend both tryout sessions. Upon the completion of the first day of tryouts each player will receive an envelope which will contain either an invitation to join NAVC on a certain level team or an invitation to return to the 2 nd day of tryouts. Therefore there will no Call Back postings on the website after the first day of tryouts.
At the end of the second day of tryouts, there will be a 30 minute period in which the Coaches meet and review evaluations and then post the tryout numbers of the players they wish to have on their team. NAVC reserves the right to post results at a time that allows for total review of players by coaches. If you are fortunate enough to be offered a position on a NAVC team, it is very helpful for us to know where you stand. When you accept a position on a team at NAVC we take you at your word-holding a spot for you and releasing alternates to find a spot at another club. After the team list is posted a short meeting will occur with the Coaches, players asked to play on the team and the players parents. We will ask all players to advise us of their decision at that point in time by completing a form with three choices 1. Yes, I will play for NAVC Season 2. Maybe, I am trying out for other clubs 3. No, I have decided not to play for NAVC Season This form will be used for administrative purposes so that we may follow up with those players who have accepted an offer or may be trying out with other clubs. If you are not prepared to accept an offer when it is extended it is important for us to understand your evaluation process as well as the timing of your decision. Our goal is to disappoint as few athletes as possible while assembling competitive teams. We will also post the Tryout Number of the player who is being offered a position on a NAVC team. Please go to our website and under the Tryout Info heading you will click on Tryout Results. There will be a link for you to respond as follows: (You must respond to us electronically). 1. Yes, I will play for NAVC Season 2. Maybe, I am trying out for other clubs 3. No, I have decided not to play for NAVC Season We will post an Alternate List players on the Alternate List will still have an opportunity to play for a team at NAVC. As decisions are made by players who were offered spots on a team we begin to move players from one team to another. If you are on the Alternate List you may be called by the Coach to ask if you would accept a position on the team. The order of calls on the Alternate
List is not determined by the order in which the number are listed. Those on the Alternate List who fill the position need on the team will be contacted. ONCE A CLUB MAKES YOU AN OFFER TO PLAY THE CLUB CAN T WITHDRAW THE OFFER! NO CLUB SHOULD GIVE YOU A DATE PRIOR TO NOVEMBER 11 TH COMMITMENT NIGHT THAT YOU NEED TO GIVE THEM AN ANSWER. THIS IS AGAINST SRVA RULES. We understand that you may still have questions, but if you are certain that you are or are not going to accept, it will help us move forward with offering positons to other players. You are free to commit or not commit. It is our hope that every player who has been selected to play on a team at NAVC will say YES and you will know your team you will play on. Commitment Day: Ages 14 & U will be Tuesday October 24 th Ages will be Wednesday November 8 th This season, NAVC will provide a online Commitment Night. You will receive an with two links, one to PaidUp (our online payment processing company) and a link to the Parent/Player Conduct Agreement. You will need to sign two forms: 1. Financial Agreement 2. Player/Parent Conduct Agreement Upon completion of the Financial Agreement you will make your initial payment after you have set up an account on PaidUp. This process must be completed October 24th for the 14 & Under age group and November 8th for the age group. If you do not complete both forms and pay your initial fee on the date your spot will be given to another player. SRVA Policy: "It shall not be considered a violation of the tryout policy for a club, following the beginning of the tryout period and prior to commitment day, to provide a player/parent with a statement that the Club is offering the player a spot on a designated team or the player is an alternate for a spot on a designated team. The club may not withdraw the offer prior to the established commitment day. (The player can reject the offer, but is not required to respond to the offer prior to the commitment day)."
Number of Teams: Based on interest and availability of qualified coaches NAVC East & West will field multiple teams ages 10-18
