I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their efforts throughout the last year. Day to day Victory Care Home has grown in stature and once again we have a good score from CQC.

1 Victory Care Home Winter Newsletter 2016 Dear Readers A warm welcome to our quarterly newsletter Our aim is to create a newsletter to share experiences and news within our Home. Day to day Victory Care Home has grown in stature and once again we have a good score from CQC. Looking forward to 2016 our new Deputy Manager Olu will be starting at the end of January. She is a versatile and enthusiastic person who has 10 years experience as a senior in the Health and Social care sector. I feel she will be a good addition to our team. 2 Gillingham Football Club visit Gillingham FC hosted a very special afternoon in the club's boardroom for a Christmas party with the first team! Gwen, Phyllis and Keith were wine and dined along with two staff members Ashleigh and Sandra. All special guest received a goody bag from Sainsbury s which was filled with treats.

Christmas Party 2015 We decided to have a themed Christmas party as we all had so much fun on our Care Home Open Day 1940 s tea dance.

3 Christmas Party 2015 We decided to have a themed Christmas party as we all had so much fun on our Care Home Open Day 1940 s tea dance. So, after a group discussion there was no choice other than the 1970 s. WITH only three channels to choose from and no videos or DVDs in sight, the chances were that you and the rest of the country were watching pretty much the same thing at the same time in the Seventies. The Basil Brush Show, Bruce Forsyth s Generation Game, Billy Smart s Christmas Circus, To the Manor Born, the annual star-studded BBC panto and The Good Old Days were all among the festive favorites. Never mind an Xbox, IPad or smart phone, you waited all year long to receive a Speak and Spell, an Etch-a-Sketch, a Space Hopper or, if you were really lucky, you might have woken up to the must-have the bike of the decade the good old Raleigh Chopper. Action Man with socalled Eagle Eyes that you could swivel using a level on the back of his head, along with Cindy and Barbie dolls for the girls were also big news. The 1970s was the decade when the Christmas record truly came into its own. Wizzard s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day lost out to Slade s Merry Christmas Everybody for the number one spot in 1973 in a true clash of the festive titans. The following year it was Mud s Lonely This Christmas, Johnny Mathis when a Child is born topped the charts in 1976 and three years later it was Boney M s Mary s Boy Child. Classics every one, they are all still played today at our party. The kitchen staff did us proud, with a wonderful 70's style buffett.

So, I would like to give an especially big thank you to all our staff that worked over the Christmas period.
