1 5 th Annual St. Michael Cheerleading Competition Date: Sunday, February 16, 2014 Where: Time: For: Kennedy Catholic High School Gymnasium 2120 Shenango Valley Freeway Hermitage, PA Competition to begin at 2:00pm Elementary Junior Varsity grades 5 th & 6 th Middle School Varsity squads grades 7 th & 8th High School Junior Varsity High School Varsity Entry Fee: $5.00 per girl - early entry fee if received by December 15, 2013 After December 15 th $10.00 per girl. Admission Price: $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for students (5 and under free) Deadline to enter is January 31, st, 2 nd and 3 rd place awards for all categories. High Schools may enter both their Basketball and Wrestling cheer squads (with the understanding that they will be competing against each other). Individual jump (single or double) and gymnastic (tumble run of your choice) contest. $3.00 per entry with awards for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place in each age categories. You may register for this on the day of the event. If enough Parochial schools participate we will have two categories. Small and large school based on enrollment. The High School squads will all compete against each other in the same division but will have a JV and Varsity category. We will follow the Erie Diocese cheerleading guidelines and criteria. Please note we have expanded the time limit to 4 minutes. All High Schools MUST follow these guidelines as well. Due to liability issues there will be no mounts or tosses. You are permitted to include gymnastics.

2 Criteria for competing: No longer than 4 minutes (start to finish), at least one unison jump, at least one floor cheer and at least one chant along with your dance. All music must be appropriate with no sexual or other lewd innuendoes. The cafeteria will open at 11:00am for squads to register and prepare. Dressing areas will be available. Your practice time on the floor will depend on the number of squads entering so you may want to get there as early as possible. The gym floor will be open from 12:00 noon until 1:30pm and will be based on a first come first serve basis. You will be allotted a set amount of practice time to ensure all get the same opportunity. There will be a coaches meeting at 1:30pm to ask questions and draw for positions. A full concession stand will be on site. Pre ordered T-shirt information is enclosed as well. There will be NO t-shirts sold the day of the event. A score sheet that will be used is also including in this mailing. In order to put all the school names on the T-shirts of those attending, the deadline to enter this competition with entry fee will be January 31, 2014! Any schools entering past this date run the risk of their school name not being on the T-shirts for this event. We would also like to prepare a program with all the schools squad pictures.
