2 Tumble with your tot This is a parent participation class where instructors teach proper use of gymnastic equipment. New skills will be taught through proper progression to ensure a safe learning environment. Skills include: cartwheels, bridges, round-offs, pullovers, back-hip circles, proper vaulting approach, and jumps, scales, and turns on beam. All children must have a parent sign them in at each open gym. Preregistration is not necessary. Class member is defined as someone who is currently enrolled in a Winter/Spring gymnastics class. Age: 5 to 16 ee: $7/class members, $10/non-class members, *$5/tumbleweeds teammates Date Time Day Open Gym Rules: 1/7 1/28 * 2/11 2/25 3/11 3/18 * 4/15 4/29 * 5/6 5/20 All participants must be paid and signed in by parent prior to attendance. Only gymnasts participating in open gym may use the equipment (please, no parents or siblings). No horse playing or roughhousing will be allowed in the gymnastics room. Know your limitations. or your own safety, do not attempt skills you haven t been taught in class first, or teach your child skills they are not ready for. Parents, please be prompt when picking your child up. To maintain a safe atmosphere, open gym rules must be followed. If these rules are not followed, this privilege will be taken away on an individual basis. The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel or change open gym at any time. Maximum allotted for any Open Gym is 30 participants. 49
5 Level 1 Tumbling At this level, participants can expect to learn basics and begin a solid foundation for their future tumbling skills. Some of the skills focused on at this level are: bridge ups, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and beginning stages of bridge kick-overs. No tumbling experience required for this class. Age: 5 to 16 ee: $59/R - $89/NR 18W220 18W221 1/21-3/11 session 2 Age: 5 to 16 ee: $52/R - $78/NR 18W230 18W231 Level 3 Tumbling This class is designed for the intermediate tumbler that has mastered the basic foundation of tumbling and body position awareness. Skills taught in this class can include: back extension rolls, handstand forward rolls, front walkovers, front handspring, and back handsprings. Participants must have teacher recommendation to sign up for this class. Age: 6 to 16 ee: $59/R - $89/NR 18W224 18W225 session 2 age: 6 to 16 ee: $52/R - $78/NR Level 2 Tumbling This class is for the beginner to intermediate tumbler. Skills focused on in this class are: roll combinations, dive rolls, round offs, handstands, back walkovers, and front limbers. Participants must have teacher recommendation to sign up for this class. Age: 6 to 16 ee: $59/R - $89/NR 18W222 18W223 Session 2 age: 6 to 16 ee: $52/R - $78/NR 18W232 18W Winter/Spring 2018 Level 4 Tumbling Participants will be taught more advanced skills like multiple standing back handsprings, connected tumbling passes, front tucks, and back tucks. Power tumbling and tumbling combinations will also be introduced in this class. Participants must have teacher recommendation to sign up for this class. Age: 6 to 16 fee: $59/R - $89/NR 18W226 18W227 1/26-3/16 ri session 2 age: 6 to 16 Gymnastics Private Lessons Private lessons can vault your child to become a more confident and stronger gymnast. With individual attention, the coach can focus on your child s needs and the progressions necessary for improvement. Sign up for these one-hour private lessons at the Recreation Center front desk (fill out form and make payment). Someone will contact you to set up days and times for the lesson(s) once the paid application has been received. Sign up for three one-hour sessions at one time for a discounted rate! All fees listed are per child. Private lessons are limited based on staff availability and gym space, and are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.
