FFA will be sending ten students to District Leadership Camp this coming Saturday. Meagan Coberley and the other district officers will be putting on the camp that will have the participants competing in events and doing exercises that will develop and improve their leadership skills.

2 Beta Updates Thru the 26th Beta is collecting new or gently used coats, jackets and hoodies in all sizes. Donations will be taken to CAN HELP in Sul. Spg. Help keep those in need warm! Drop box is in the front office. Beta will be hosting our first Jack-O-Lantern Contest at this year s Halloween Carnival. Entry is $2 per pumpkin and you can enter as many as you want. The most creative will win $15. To enter bring your pre-carved jack-o-lantern, a flameless light source and $2 entry fee to Beta's booth at the carnival. We will also be selling our Ozark Lollipops for $0.75 each at the carnival. On Mon. Oct. 29th, we will be taking our officers to Carter Blood Care's high school appreciation banquet at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington. This will be the first time for Beta to be able to participate! 3 PTO Halloween Carnival October 26 Every student will receive an index card to fill up with stamps from all booths this next Friday! Stew in the cafeteria as usual 5:30-7, hosted by the Junior Class PTO - Bake walk, Angry Birds, Nose Picker, Spider Ring Toss and Door Live Auction - not sure on time yet Mrs. Jenkins - Shoo Cats Mrs. Jaggers - Treasure Chest Mrs. Massey/Mrs. Green - Country Store Mrs. Vance - Wheel of Misfortune & Hay Ride Mrs. Moore - Catapult Mrs. Hogue - Mini Golf Mrs. Cox - Fishing Hole Mrs. Graham - 42 tournament & Balloon Darts Mrs. Weeks - Coke Ring Toss Mr. Abner - Haunted House FCCLA - Cotton Candy Ms. Cannon - Tattoo Booth/Lollipop Pull and TP Toss Freshman Class - Dunking Booth & Bounce House Beta - Pumpkin Carving Contest (Bring carved pumpkins) 10th Grade - Hair Color Most booths will be in the old gym or elementary classrooms hallway 6-8. 4 Judging Team Goes to State Fair of Texas The FFA had sixteen members participate in the Livestock Judging contest at the State Fair of Texas, 11 regular FFA members and 5 Jr. Members. FFA advisor, Mr. Abner, said, The members represented themselves, Sulphur Bluff FFA, and Sulphur Bluff School in a very nice manner. We should all be proud of them. 5 Book Fair Enables Library to Add 75 New Books Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Joslin announced that they made enough money on the Book Fair this year that they were able to purchase 24 hardbacks and 51 paperbacks to add to the library. They say thank you to all of the students, faculty, and parents who helped to make the Book Fair a success! 6 Tubb s Country Store It s almost time for the Halloween Carnival and the Country Store would like your help. We would like donations of any kind. Just send your donations to Mrs. Green or Mrs. Massey as soon as possible. We won t be able to take any donations after October 19th. Below is a list of articles that have been donated in the past. 7 Pumpkin Patch Welcomes Area Schools PTO once again hosted a pumpkin patch for our students as well as other area schools. PTO members, including PTO president Amy Ritland and committee chairman Mike Guilkey were on hand for the event. which included a barrel train ride, story time, and pumpkin decorating.
