1 National Open Air Gun Championship SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION Open Championship: February 7 th through April 12 th Invitational Championship: May 23 rd through 25 th ELIGIBILITY: Open to all competitors; NRA membership is not required, but it is strongly recommended that proof of membership be presented when registering. RULES: Current NRA Sporter and Precision Air Rifle Rules will be used for the Air Gun portion, NRA International Pistol rules will be used for the Air Pistol Portion. ENTRIES AND FEES: Entries will be collected at each authorized location and then forwarded to the NRA after completion of the tournament. Entries will be limited to range capacity. The NRA s entry fee will cover both the air rifle and air pistol portion of the match. All competitors must complete the official entry card that will be forwarded to the NRA at the completion of the Championship. Registration and Entry Fees: Individual entry fee: Juniors $15 Adult $35 Team entry fee: $20 Match sponsors may charge an additional amount to cover their costs for this event. CHALLENGES: If a challenge to the score is made, the individual bull must be challenged. The shot will be evaluated using the electronic scoring system by the referee/jury and a chief statistical officer and adjusted or rescored as necessary. No person with an interest in the outcome of the match may evaluate targets. The decision of the referee or jury is final. Prior to the beginning of the championship the Orion Scoring system will be calibrated and verified by the local match director. If, for any reason, the system must be recalibrated then all targets will be re-scored. TARGETS:

2 Official NRA Orion Air Rifle and Air Pistol Targets will be used. Competitors will mark and hang their own targets; metal clips may be required. Locations with electronic scoring methods other than the Orion System may use the appropriate targets, but must receive prior approval from the NRA. ACCOMODATIONS: Competitors need to make their own hotel or motel reservations. Suggestions for lodging or restaurants may be obtained from the tournament sponsors. MATCH SCHEDULE: Sporter Air Rifle and Precision Air Rifle: Match 11 Individual 20 Shots, Prone, 30 Min Match 12 Individual 20 Shots, Standing, 40 Min Match 13 Individual 20 Shots, Kneeling, 30 Min Match 14 Individual Combined score from matches 11, 12, and 13 Match 15 Team Combined score from match 14 (four person teams) Air Pistol Match 21 Individual Pistol 60 shots, 105 Min Match 22 Team Pistol Combined score from match 21 (four person teams) Note: Team members must compete at the same location, but may be on different relays. Team members must be identified prior to the first record shot for the team. The top 8 Competitors from Junior Precision and Junior Sporter will be the USA s team for the USA/South Africa Postal competition. Their scores from match 14 will be used for the postal. Each sponsor may schedule as many relays as needed during the Open Championship period, from February 7 through April 12. Relays should be scheduled on a single weekend per location, and may only extend beyond a single weekend with NRA approval. AWARDS SCHEDULE: The following awards schedule is provided by the NRA and supplemented by the sponsoring club. The sponsor of each location may supplement the awards schedule with their own awards. Each location will receive the following awards for both sporter and precision shooters:

3 For matches 11, 12, and 13, each location will receive first, second, and third place medals for juniors and adults. For match 14, each location will receive first, second, and third place medallions for juniors and adults, as well as first, second, and third place medallions for the categories sub junior, intermediate junior, and junior. For match 15, each location will receive medallions for the top two teams. For match 21, each location will receive first, second, and third place medallions for juniors and adults, as well as first, second, and third place medallions for the categories sub junior, intermediate junior, and junior. For match 22, each location will receive medallions for the top two teams. COMPETITION OPEN TO: The 2015 Open Air Gun Nationals are open to all competitors. In order to qualify for a National Record, competitors must either be NRA members or be a junior member of an NRA affiliated club. Competitors may enter in one of the following categories for pistol and rifle competition, depending on their preference and their age: 1. Junior 2. Intermediate Junior 3. Sub Junior 4. Open (Adult, Juniors) 5. Adaptive a. SH1-Shooters with disabilities who can support the weight of their rifle but need alternate positions. b. SH2- Shooters with disabilities who need the assistance of a spring stand to support their rifle. c. Open- Shooters with any other disabilities such as traumatic brain injury. FIRING STARTS: Both the start time and number of relays will be determined by each sponsoring location. The only restriction is that results must be submitted to Orion by 7 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on April 12, Results received after this deadline will not be included in the national results. INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Once the results of the National Open Air Gun Championship are received, there will be an invitational championship to determine the national champion. This event will be held in Albuquerque New Mexico over Memorial Day weekend (May ). The competitors with the top 20 scores in sporter and precision air rifle will be invited to travel to the championship to compete for the title of National Champion. The top 10 teams in sporter and precision air rifle will also be invited to compete. The top three sporter and precision competitors will receive money to defray their travel costs. First place will receive $1000, second place $750, and third place $500 in both sporter and precision. The members of the top team in sporter and precision will receive $500 per team member. Travel funds may not be received for both individual and team amounts. Thus, if Jane Doe posts the top score in precision, and is also a member of the top team, her team mates will receive $500 each, and Jane Doe will receive the $1000 from being the top individual.

5 The Invitational Championship will be a 60 shot match, with a course of fire identical to the Open Air Gun Championship. Awards for the invitational championship are to be determined.
