2 1 INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT 1 A typical family's dining room, there are plates with bits of food on the table. EMILY TENNANT sits at the table typing on her laptop computer. TENNANT walks in, and starts to clear the table. Emily closes her computer, gets up and starts to help clear the dishes. EMILY Here Dad let me help you with those. David looks at her, puts down his dishes, and pulls out his wallet. Ok, how much do you want? EMILY What? Can't a daughter help her father clear the dishes without wanting something in return? No... EMILY Alright. Well, you see... I'm doing a report for school that's due tomorrow about how my parents met, and I don't know the whole story, and I was hoping that maybe you could tell me? I thought we already told you that story? EMILY You did, but it was the quick "We just fell in love" version. Come on Dad I know that's not true. I mean, I am fifteen. They want us to write about the whole story. Like exactly how did you and mom meet? And when did you know that she was the love of your life? And... Wait, how long did you have to do this? EMILY About... two weeks. Two weeks? Why did you put it off for so long?

3 2. EMILY Well I was going to ask, but then Jenny Facebooked me because her and Mark just broke up, so I had to have a threeway with them to get them to make up... Whoa, wait, A threeway? EMILY Yeah, on Skype. We threeway called each other, and got them to talk about their feelings for each other. Oh thank god... I was thinking of something completely different. Huh? EMILY Uhh... Never mind. Alright, I'll tell you the whole story, but I warn you, it's not a short one. Emily sits back down in front of her computer. EMILY Oh, that's ok, there's nothing good on Youtube tonight anyways. Glad to know I take second place to a video. EMILY But we might have to cut it short if Johnny uploads tonight. David sits down next to her. Of course... Well, like any good story, this one's about a girl. And this story actually starts on one of the worse days of my life... Emily starts to type. 2 EXT. PERTH - DAY 2 A bunch of quick shots of Perth, small town, Farm life ect.

4 3. 3 INT. PERTH GENERAL STORE - DAY 3 An ordinary looking General Store that looks like it could be from anywhere. There are a few customers, but the place is basically empty. David walks out from the back, and up to the front. He walks over to the radio. He turns it on, and tunes it through a bunch of country stations until he finally finds some Rock music. He grabs the mop from next to the radio, and starts to mop while dancing to the music. (V.O.) At the time I lived in a small town called Perth, Ontario, it's ok if you haven't heard of it, not to many people have. It's about an hour north of Ottawa, or about ten beer stores. That's just a local joke. It's a small town, with a population of six thousand, but it was perfect for me. I Had everything I could ever have wanted. I lived in my own apartment, which I shared with your Uncle Ryan, I had a steady job that paid more than enough to keep me comfortable and I had been dating the same girl online for about a month. Life was great, until... BOSS comes out from the back, walks over to the radio, and turns down the music. David walks over to him. Sorry boss, you know I like to listen to music as I clean. Boss hands him an envelope. BOSS Here's your pay check David. David takes the paper from him, and looks at it. Thanks, but uhh... isn't it kind of early for my pay check? BOSS Well I'm sorry to say that business is too slow right now, and you were the last guy we hired and unfortunately you got to be the first guy fired. But, I'm the only guy you've hired.

5 4. BOSS I'm sorry David. But this is our busy time... Boss looks around at the almost empty store. BOSS (Sarcastically) Yeah, how ever are we going to manage? The crowds in here are huge... Come on Dad, please, I need this job! BOSS Like I said David, I'm sorry. Now I'll take back our mop if you please. David hands Boss the mop, picks up his computer bag from behind the counter and starts to walk out of the store, but then stops. So... what's mom cooking for dinner? BOSS Umm, Meatloaf I think. Alright Meatloaf! I'll uhh... see you tonight... David leaves the store. 4 EXT. PERTH MAIN STREET - DAY 4 David walks out of the store, and starts walking down the street. (V.O.) Well my dad had just fired me, so wasn't a good start to the day, but I wasn't going to let something like that get my spirits down, I had some savings. So everything was going to be ok. Well it would have been if it wasn't for your Uncle. 5 EXT. PERTH APARTMENT - DAY 5 WILKINSON is sitting on the steps outside of the apartment, smoking a joint. David walks up to him.

6 5. Ryan? Ryan stands up. Oh David, thank god you're here. I can't seem to get into our apartment. Did you try using your key? Uhh... Yeah that's like the third thing I tired... Of corse I tried my damn key! I'm not that stoned... Yet. What ever, come on. They walk up the stairs. 6 INT. PERTH APARTMENT - DAY 6 David and Ryan walk up the stairs and to the apartment door. Ryan puts his key in, and it won't turn. See. Well, that is odd. David tries his own key with the same result. Hmm... Mine doesn't work either, was there a note or something about the locks being changed? Ryan pulls a paper from his pocket. No, just this note about some election in the area. I don't know who I'm going to vote for yet though. Ryan hands David the paper. David looks at the Paper, then back up at Ryan. This doesn't say "election" it says "eviction" we've been evicted for... for not paying our rent?

7 6. Well that would explain why all our stuff is boxed up out back. What?? How...?? How did we get evicted for not paying our rent when I gave you the money to pay the rent last week? Wait, that money was to pay the rent? I thought you wanted me to buy some green with that money. Green? I gave you four hundred dollars and clearly said "This is the money for paying the rent." Yeah, you were on the computer with your girlfriend. I thought that "Paying the rent" was the code, for buying Green. David takes a step away from Ryan. EMILY (V.O.) What's green? 7 INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT 7 Emily is looking at David looking for an answer. Well, You see... Green is sort of grown up candy, that only grown ups are aloud to eat, help us relax. Oh, ok. EMILY Emily starts to type, but David grabs her hand. But you don't really need to put that in... David clicks the "backspace" button on her computer. Now where were we? EMILY Papa had just fired you, and Uncle Ryan had just got you evicted by (MORE)

8 7. EMILY (cont'd) spending all your rent money on candy. Oh yeah, Well as you could guess I wasn't too happy about that. 8 INT. PERTH APARTMENT - DAY 8 David rushes Ryan and pushes him up into a wall. I can't believe you spent our entire rent money on weed! Hey, you smoked it too. David lets Ryan go, turning away. Well I didn't know it was the rent money. So this is as much your fault as it is mine. How is this my...? David turns to Ryan, who flinches a little, and starts to pace in the hall. David Stops pacing. How could this have happened? Any other day than today, but why today? Look you're still making lots of money at your job, we'll just find another place, A better place than this dump. No, we can't, because I just got fired. I have no job, which means no money, and no better place! Oh dude, I'm sorry, I didn't know... Wait, you work for your dad don't you? So...your dad fired you? You got fired by your dad?

9 8. Yes, my dad fired me! And now I've barely got enough money saved to live, even if I had an apartment! Which thanks to you, I don't. Thank you so much Ryan! Well, I don't have a place to live either, and you don't hear me complaining. David looks at him for a second. David looks at him. Wait, what about your job? Why are you home at noon on a Wednesday? I... kind of got fired about a month ago. A month? But we leave for work at the same time every day. Yeah, I've kind of just been going to the Library... Well I'm not there just wasting time or anything... I'm actually thinking of a way for us to make tons of money. You know Jarred the subway guy? He got famous by losing all that weight, right? He did nothing else. So to save money, I've been walking to the library everyday. I walk there, and back every day. That's how we'll make our money, we'll market that as a diet plan, I've already lost like six pounds. We'll call it the "Library Diet Plan" We'll be millionaires. And maybe one day, we'll go to the library and they'll give us some books for free. It's a library all the books are free! Oh... well there are some flaws I guess...

10 9. So, when were you planning on telling me that you had no job, and had this "Great" idea? I was going to wait till after the first million came in... you know surprise you with it... I had a party planned and everything. There was a clown and a bouncy castle, and a ball pit... David is staring right at him. You know... You are one of the biggest Idiots that I have ever known! Ever! Oh, I... I'm sorry... Ryan starts to get a bit sad. David looks a bit regretful, and walks over to him. Look I'm sorry, it's just been a long day... I know you were just trying to help, in your own Idiotic way. How about we head to the coffee shop and I treat you to some coffee? They've got free WIFI there, maybe Arianna will be online, and can somehow save this shitty ass day! And I can get a frappachino? You can get a frappachino. Alright lets go! Ryan starts to walk down the Stairs. Besides, I don't think things could get any worse... (V.O.) Boy was I wrong about that David catches up to Ryan, and they walk down the stairs.

11 10. 9 INT. PERTH COFFEE SHOP - DAY 9 David is sitting at a table, with his laptop open in front of him and his wallet is on the table next to it. Ryan walks over with two cups. He hands David one, and then takes a sip from his. Damn it! I ordered a low fat, sugar free, single soy frappachino, and this is a Hot chocolate! I'm taking this back. Ryan goes back up to the register. Umm... I ordered a hot chocolate... Oh well. David take a drink from his cup, and shudders a little making a "gross" face. David's computer beeps at him, He puts his cup down, and pushes it away. Alright, Arianna is on. (Talking as he types) Hey ya Sexy Girl, thank god you're on. 10 INT. AND ALANA'S APARTMENT - DAY 10 The apartment is super clean, and obviously a female's apartment. SCOTCH is sitting at her window using her laptop computer. (Talking as she types) Hey David, I'm glad you're here too. We need to talk. 11 INT. PERTH COFFEE SHOP - DAY 11 (Talking while typing) Umm, ok what do you want to talk about? Just take it easy on me, because honestly I've been having the worst day of my life INT., AND ALANA'S APARTMENT - DAY 12 (Talking while typing) Well, I don't think it's going to get any better...

12 INT. PERTH COFFEE SHOP - DAY 13 (Talking while typing) What do you mean? 14 INT., AND ALANA'S APARTMENT - DAY 14 (Talking while typing) You know I love the time we spend together, online and I really like you. Not to mention those amazing nights we spent together on our webcams. And I can always beat you at Words with Friends. But I just have a lot going on in my life right now, and I really think that the two of us need to work on more of a friendship rather than a relationship... I hope you understand. 15 INT. PERTH COFFEE SHOP - DAY 15 (Talking while typing) Wait, what are you trying to say? 16 INT., AND ALANA'S APARTMENT - DAY 16 (Talking while typing) Look, it's not you it's me... I just don't think I can do this any more, I want a boyfriend who's here in Toronto, someone who I can hold, and actually be with. Someone who can comfort me when my world turns to crap. This long distance thing is killing me David. I want to be with you, but I want to actually be with you. I guess what I'm trying to say is... I think we should break up. 17 INT. PERTH COFFEE SHOP - DAY 17 David is getting upset. (Talking while typing) What? Arianna wait a second! Can We talk about this? You know work something out... I love you! I don't wanto lose you in my life...

13 INT., AND ALANA'S APARTMENT - DAY 18 (talking while typing) I'm sorry David, I just need a few days to myself, please don't try to contact me. Her screen shows her clicking the "Unfriend" button. 19 INT. PERTH COFFEE SHOP - DAY 19 David is just sitting there looking at his computer, as the picture of Arianna turns to just a blue "A". Ryan walks back over, sitting down, then unwrapping a bagel. I got a free bagel out of it. Mmm, I love sesame seed. Victory for the little guy! Ryan starts to eat, then looks at David who is still looking at his computer. (Mouth full) Something wrong man? (Ignoring Ryan) I've got to go there. What? David just gets up and walks out of the shop. David? Go where? Can I come? Ryan looks after him for a second. David? I can't afford to pay for these... Ryan looks over at the counter, and slowly takes a bite of his bagel. Mmm... He sees the computer still sitting there, he turns it towards him and starts to read. 20 INT. 'S AND ALANA'S APARTMENT - DAY 20 Arianna is putting her laptop screen down. ALANA DOMINO walks in.

14 13. ALANA We've got to get going or we'll be late for class. Yeah, I'll be right there. Arianna stands up, takes one last look towards her computer, and the two of them walk away. 21 INT. DINING ROOM - DAY 21 Emily is looking a little bit sad. EMILY Wow, that is a bad day, you're sure this story has a happy ending? Because this one time a friend of Brittany's was dating a guy online, and she dumped him, and he hacked into her computer, and totally screwed with her settings, changed her back ground and unsuscribed her from her favourite Youtube Channels. Umm, are you telling a story or am I? Sorry... EMILY And don't worry, you're here aren't you? That's got to mean some sort of a happy ending right? And just remember where there is bad there always has to be some good too. God never closes a door without opening a window, or is that saying god never closes the door with out installing a doggie door first, or something, I don't know I'm not religious. But back to the story... It took you're Uncle Ryan a bit, but he did eventually find me. Emily starts to type again. 22 EXT. PERTH STREET - DAY. 22 There is very few houses along the street. David is walking down the road.

15 14. (Muttering) I've got to go there, I'll find her, and convince her to take me back... Ryan rides up next to him on a Razor Scooter. He has David's Computer bag over his shoulder. David... there you are, I looked everywhere for you. Ok, I looked like 2 places, but there's not many hiding spots out here... Small town. Ryan, not now! I'm leaving Perth. You're leaving Perth? Where are you going to go? Toronto. Toronto? Yes, I'm going to Toronto. To get Arianna back? David stops walking. Yeah, how did you know? I read everything. Ryan holds out David's computer bag. You forgot this in the Coffee Shop. David takes the bag. Thanks... Ooo the coffee shop! How did you pay? Ryan pulls out David's wallet. You forgot this there too, you tipped big by the way.

16 15. Ryan tosses it to him, and he puts it in his pocket, puts his bag on, and continues to walk. Ryan rides beside him. So, what? You're just going to walk there? Yep. All the way to Toronto? Do you have a better idea? Do you have any idea how long that's going to take? I mean it's like three hours to get there by train. David stops walking. There's a train from Perth to Toronto? Yeah, my mom takes it all the time to visit my sister. Which one? Lindsay, the one that lives in Toronto. Lindsay?? I haven't seen her in years. Ryan isn't listening to David. Yeah, mom's always traveling out there. David isn't listening to Ryan either. I had the biggest crush on her growing up. Mom's worried that she's never going to find a good man, and die (MORE)

17 16. (cont'd) alone. She won't even let her get a cat, because she's scared of her becoming a crazy cat lady. Might be nice to see her again. I keep telling her to have a little faith, she's an amazing girl who knows what she wants, and doesn't really need a man... Wait! They both stop, and look at each other. What? You have a sister... living in Toronto! Yeah, I thought I just explained that to you. No, I mean, you have a sister living in Toronto, which is where we want to go. Maybe we can meet up with her. I mean she's got to know the city, right? Maybe she can help us out? Wait, we? Yeah, lets you and me go to Toronto. You... and... Me... go all the way to Toronto? Why would I want to go to Toronto? Come on lets do it! Why can't we just stay here? There's tons of single girls here. I mean there's always Ms. Fleckenshtine.

18 17. Our second grade teacher? Isn't she's a widow? Well, at least you know she's available. Plus isn't she old enough to be my grandmother? I'm not going to deny it's slim pickings around here, but come on, we've never left Perth in our entire lives. Why leave now? Because, I love her. Ryan doesn't know what to say. Ryan, we've done everything together, from that first moment we met in Elementary school, and I shared my animal crackers with you. We promised each other if one of us really needed help we'd be there for each other. I really need your help on this. I can't do it without you. Ryan still doesn't know what to say. And, who knows... Maybe there might be someone there you can pitch your "Library diet" Idea to. Ryan Looks at David, and smiles. You think so? Oh yeah, Toronto, they're always looking for crazy ideas like that. Ok, lets do it! But you're going to owe me a lot more than animal crackers this time. Ryan puts his scooter over his shoulder, and they start to walk back the other way.

19 18. They stop walking. Well first thing's first, I have to call my sister. And then we have to pack. Wait, everything is already packed. Well that's convenient. They laugh a bit as they continue to walk. 23 INT. PERTH GENERAL STORE - DAY 23 David is talking to Boss, Ryan is off to the side on his phone....and so that's the plan. We're going to go to Toronto to find her. BOSS Ok, well you have my blessing. Thanks Dad. They shake hands, then hug. Ryan walks over. Ok I talked to Lindsay and she said she'd be more than happy to let us stay at her place for as long as we need. She says she looks forward to seeing you, but she didn't mention me for some reason... But she said she was going to be at work when we get there, so she can't meet us at the station. But she did me some maps, and I stored them into my phone, so that way we'll know where we're going when we get there. Alright, well I guess we'd better get going then... Bye Dad. See ya Mr. Tennant. Ryan and David start to walk to the door

20 19. BOSS Bye guys, good luck... They walk out the door. BOSS because you're going to need it. He goes back to cleaning. 24 EXT. PERTH TRAIN STATION - DAY 24 David and Ryan are standing at the train station with two suitcases next to them. So we're really going to do this eh? I've never wanted to do anything more in my life. You know I have no idea what she looks like right? What? I've showed you her picture before. Yeah, I think I was pretty high then though... You could have shown me a picture of my own mother and I wouldn't have recognized her. But you said she was hot? Again could have shown me a picture of my Mother and... David shakes his head. Well don't worry I know what she looks like, so I'll point her out when we see her. The train pulls up to the station. They stand there looking at the train. Kind of big. Yeah.

21 20. They step forward, Ryan steps up first. That's one small step for man,one... David pushes Ryan on the train, and then follows him in. 25 INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT 25 Emily is still typing. So there we were on our way to the big city. EMILY We're you guys scared? Terrified, but also extremely excited all at the same time. We were about to experience tons of things that we've never experienced before in our lives. Emily continues typing 26 INT. TRAIN - DAY 26 Ryan and David are riding the train, David has headphones on, and Ryan is looking out the window. Ryan suddenly gets excited and points towards the window. David, look! There's the ACC, Oh the Roger's center, Oh my god, the CN Tower. I can't believe it I've waited my whole life, and I finally get to see it! David takes off his headphones. Ryan, you're looking at a tourism guide of Toronto. The camera turns, and you can see the big pamphlet he's holding. Well sorry, I'm just practicing for the real things. TRAIN ANNOUNCER (V.O.) Now arriving at Toronto Union Station, Toronto Union Station.

22 21. Ryan looks at David. Here we go. They grab their Luggage and head for the exits. 27 EXT. UNION STATION - DAY 27 Ryan and David walk out of the doors, carrying their luggage. We made it man, Can you believe it? We're in Toronto. So, where is your sister's place? Ryan pulls out his phone flipping it open Ok, according to the map... Ryan and David look at the phone, Ryan turns it sideways, and then back the other way. We have to go... this way. The camera stays stationary as they grab their luggage and walk off to the RIGHT. And after a second they walk back the way they just came. Sorry, this way... They pause for a second. As Ryan turns his phone upside down again. Yeah... They walk off to the LEFT. 28 EXT. TORONTO STREETS - DAY 28 Ryan and David are walking around back and forth on different streets. They even trip down a few grass hills ect, and get a little muddy/ dirty. 29 EXT. PARK - DAY 29 A typical park, with trees and open fields. David and Ryan stop at the edge of the park, Ryan pulls out his phone. Ok, I think there is a short cut through here.

23 22. This doesn't look like a short cut to me. Oh yeah... it's like a bike trail or something, trust me. Ok. They walk into the trees, and they walk out into a big clearing, where a "L.A.R.P." event is going on. There are a bunch of Banners, knights, including RED KNIGHT, and people dressed from that era all around. The knights are all fighting each other. Ryan and David walk out into the middle of the clearing, and look around. I don't think this is a short cut. Whoa, how high am I? Have we just travelled back in time? I... don't know. Everyone stops, and turns to them. Red Knight walks over to them. RED KNIGHT Umm, what the fuck are you guys doing here? Uh oh. (In a loud voice) Have no fear young Naïve, we are but travelers from the future, we bring good tidings, and hope that you will send us to your nearest wizard as he may be able to help us return to our time. Red Knight just stairs at him. David shakes his head Security! RED KNIGHT Ryan and David look at each other as SECURITY GUARD grabs them, throwing them out of the clearing, and back out of the trees.

24 23. SECURITY GUARD Now please don't come back, we take our Larping very seriously, and when you come here, you guys are like totally ruining the vibe. The security guard heads back into the trees, as Ryan and David get back up kicking off some dirt. They start walking again. Nice short cut... Ryan and David walk by PHOTOGRAPHER, and he stops them. He has a camera, and a picture of the CN Tower. PHOTOGRAPHER Take your picture in front of the CN Tower? Ryan and David look at each other. Sure... Yeah ok. They pose in front of the picture, as Photographer takes their picture. Right after the picture is taken Ryan pulls out his phone. Hey, I think I know where we are... Photographer is still looking at his camera, fiddling with some buttons. You better be right this time... Just follow me. Ryan and David walk away down the street. Photographer starts to look up PHOTOGRAPHER Ok, so that'll be twenty dollars please... He looks around, sees they're gone, he looks disappointed, and goes back to his camera. 30 EXT. TORONTO CONVENIENCE STORE - DUSK 30 The camera is stationary in front of the store. Ryan and David walk past a store a few times before David finally grabs Ryan's arm, and stops him

25 24. We're still lost aren't we? Well, the map says we have to look for a giant arrow, and I don't know about you, but I haven't seen a damn arrow all day. Well except for that one that said "parking" and even though we didn't check the full thing, I doubt that Lindsay lives in a parking lot. It's starting to get dark... How about we just ask someone in here? Alright, if you REALLY want to... But I'm doing this for you. They walk into the Store. 31 INT. TORONTO CONVENIENCE STORE - DUSK 31 The store looks like an average convenience store. JULIE is behind the counter. Twirling her hair, chewing gum, and reading a magazine. She has a name tag on that says "Julie" Ryan and David walk in and up to the register. Julie doesn't look up from her magazine. Um... Hi, excuse me... He reads her name tag. Julie? Julie looks up at them. Yeah, what? JULIE We're looking for Twenty one John Street. And we've been all over this city, and we can't seem to find it anywhere. JULIE Are you going to buy something? Because I don't give out directions without purchase. Ok, Ryan do you have any money?

26 25. No, I spent all my cash on the tickets, I have my charge card. Do you guys accept that here? Nope. JULIE Wait, but your door says you do. JULIE And I say we don't. Yeah, But the door... JULIE Who are you going to believe me or a door? Ryan and David look at each other, Julie, and the door a few times. I guess you......yeah I guess... Well I have a quarter... let me get some penny candies please. Ok. JULIE She puts two candies in a bag, and hands it to Ryan, he gives her the quarter. JULIE Twenty one John street is just at the end of this block. Um... Thank you. They both slowly leave the store, looking at her once before they leave. 32 EXT. TORONTO CONVENIENCE STORE - DUSK 32 Ryan and David run out of the store and down the street. 33 EXT. 'S APARTMENT - DUSK 33 Ryan and David run up to the front of the building. Here it is.

27 26. Oh thank god. WOMAN is about to leave the building, and Ryan runs over to hold the door for her. Thank you. WOMAN Not a problem. Why do you always have to hold the door for Women? It's called chivalry and one day it will pay off for me. If you say so. David walks in through the door as Ryan holds it, and Ryan follows him in. 34 INT. 'S APARTMENT - NIGHT 34 Lindsay's apartment Looks like a typical girl's apartment. WILKINSON is sitting on her couch, watching Tv. There is a knock on her door, and she goes and answers it, David and Ryan are standing on the other side. Lindsay. Well, Well, look at my little brother, finally made it all the way to the big city, get over here. She gives him a hug. Ah, it aint so big... You guys a few hours late, I was just about to call you. Oh we got so lost... but we did meet the nice lady at the convenience store up the street. But, I ed you the maps on how to get here.

28 27. Oh, don't get me started about those maps... there's no big arrow out in front of your building. I think we should send Google an so they can make the corrections, because someone could get very confused over that. Sure, we'll get right on that Lindsay looks at David, who smiles at her. Well, who's this all grown up? Hey Lindsay. I haven't seen you in so long, come here, and give me a hug. David and her hug for an awkward amount of time. Then they let go, and the three of them stand there for a second. Well come on in. Ok. David, and Ryan enter, and Lindsay closes her door. Ryan walks off into the kitchen, and Lindsay and David go towards the Living room. Lindsay gestures for him to sit on the couch, as she sits in a chair. So Ryan tells me you're here looking for your Internet girlfriend? Yeah, I'm going to try and surprise her, she doesn't even know I'm in town. Oh, that is so romantic. I wish a guy would do something like that for me, do something so selfless that'll just sweep me off of my feet... But, how are you going to find her? I mean this is a huge city. David pulls out his phone.

29 28. Well First thing I'm going to do ovbously is call her, and let her know I'm in town. And if she doesn't accept my calls, or text's then I also know the club that she hangs out at, the gym she works out at ever day, and I know she's a student at the Toronto Film School.
