3 Bullwinkle's Korner Howdy Kuzzin s This year is flying by so quickly. I can t believe it s already time for the State Fair of Texas. Can there be a State Fair without Betty Hoffman working to keep it in order? At least, I think Ken to still going to do his part for a while longer!! Then there is Round-Up!! It sounds like things are coming together for it to be a grand success. I hope we have a nice size group attending. We always have a fun time. Goodness knows, we have worn 50 s outfits enough to get the flow of that decade in the air!!! HA!! I m afraid Ernie is not going to want to give up his pocket protector! At our dance on the 6th we will try to see who all would like to gather for an early dinner on the Saturday of Round-Up. The featured caller this year, Dan Nordbye, gave lessons to John & Shirley way back when! We had such a great time at the Baldwin Manor for the fish fry. The food was the best!! The proper words to describe the entertainment are hard to come up with, but amazing it was!! The entire evening was excellent all around. We will be coming up with a couple of visits for the month beyond Round-Up. Try to join us if you are able! Our group always has a fun time. LESSONS.they are coming along nicely, but we do have a need. Guess what it is? More angels!!! We have a faithful group coming, but each of them can only dance with one person. We are trying to have an angel for each student dancer. Sometimes, we have angels sitting because we don t have enough angels to form another square. John Goodrum and David & Janet Borg from our Emeritus group have been faithful to show up. That is a very nice thing. No one can make all the lessons, but please try to come! It really works great when each student has an angel partner. Please continue to pray for our sick and injured members. This club has some amazing, caring members. Also, many of us have friends and family still facing the aftermath of Harvey. Oh what problems that has caused for so many. Don t forget the ladies luncheon on the second Friday of the month. 4 KUER's KORNER - From the Peltons Cueing Schedule JL will be cuing at Swinging Stars the second Friday in November, which is November 10, with Wayne Baldwin. Hope to see many of the Kuzzins there. Saturday Lessons Refresher Basic lessons have started at the Plano Senior Center with three Kuzzin couples: Mike and Joanne Patrick, Carol and Jesse Hooks, and Quida and Paul Bellows. It's a great class as we also have three couples from Swinging Stars, one couple each from Circle 8, Stone Steppers, and Rebel Rousers. Lots of different rhythm skills, but we are all having fun learning some Rumba these past three weeks. We now have two dances they can dance at Kuzzins and most other cuers in the area and with those skills, we will be doing some Cha Cha for the next couple of weeks before we work on either Waltz or Two Step. KALLER's KORNER Our Texas Hall of Fame caller Wayne Baldwin calls regularly for both the Kissin' Kuzzins and Swinging Stars. So most of your Friday nights can include dancing to his pleasing calls, like "Spin the top; that's what I said", and "Square three through, 'cause I told you to". And who doesn't like Hot Hash.
