P3 Getting ready for Class assemblies P5+7 the Art Exhibition! by Emmanuel, Opal Emmanuel school have been putting their aprons on and getting crafty starting with Opal class with their plastic bag fishes. In Amber class they have been working on pots made out of clay based on their topic ancient Greeks. In Emerald class they have been putting their scarfs and hats on and going to Antarctica to make penguins. We can t wait to see everybody s works of art this week! They all looked so cute in there outfits. Their topic was all about Antarctica - they really enjoyed it. They all had fun learning all about Antarctica. They all looked so cute when they sang. I heard every word at the back. They were not even scared not one bit. 5

7 Garnet s class assembly By Milu, Sapphire On Wednesday the 8th of March it was Garnet class assembly. They were all very cute. It was all about the Rain-Forest. They all had a very loud voices even though they are in Garnet. Which is AMAZING! Garnet class had very cute costumes. Emmanuel from Opal said: It was really cool : Vesa says: It was very cute!. Milu says: There costumes were nice! Amelia said: They sing really loud. Keely said: They did really good. Mrs Watkins: I was near the back and heard every word. Jonathan Sellers comes to visit by Keeley, Topaz Violet s dad came to talk to us about magazines and what it s like to work for one. We learnt about cool patterns, using lots of different ways to write and using pictures and colours to be eye catching. It was really interesting to hear all about it. 7

8 Sports page Emmanuel FC match report by Daniel and Aidan, Opal On Tuesday 28th February, Emmanuel FC went to Talacre for the finals of the Camden Boys Football Tournament. This is where the final 8 teams played each other for the title. We started brilliantly with a 3-0 win against Hampstead Parochial! We did very well to get to the semi-finals but unfortunately lost to St Dominic's. We then beat Holy Trinity 2-1 in the 3rd and 4th place play offs. Emmanuel did extremely well and got 3rd place medals out of 48 schools across Camden. New End school in Hampstead won the tournament with St Dominic's coming second. Football stuff By Max.F (Quartz) Emmanuel school had made it through to the last round with 8 schools left to compete against, these were the games of the first round. Emmanuel 3-0 St Pauls Emmanuel 0-1 Fitzjohns Emmanuel 0-2 New End Emmanuel made it through to the semi-final of the tournament and was only one win away from the Finals! Emmanuel 2-5 St Dominics Not the best game we had ever played, though there was still the chance of getting into the top 3. Emmanuel needs to win against Holy Trinity to get another bronze medal. Emmanuel 3-1 Holy Trinity Emmanuel had done extremely well to get 3rd place and get the furthest Emmanuel had ever gone. Goals: Aidan Conor. S (2) Jamie F.P Max. F (4) Well done Aidan for getting his first goal for Emmanuel against St Dominics. Also a very well played to Lucas who played awesomely in every single game he played 8

9 A little reminder: Let s Talk by Amelia, Topaz This is a little reminder about let s Talk. The days you can drop in to talk in the Bubble are: Tuesday and Thursday Time: 1:00-1:30 If there is something troubling you about school. Come to the library. Rip a sheet from the box and write down class, name and what the problem is. You will see Mrs Watkins I m finding it hard at playtimes. I m feeling sad I feel left out I m nervous about starting a new school I m worried about something at home. I don t know what to do Sometimes I just feel Measter!!! By JT, Amber It s Easter or as they call it Measter in minion town and the festive spirit is already kicking in. PART ONE THEORY Once In the grassy lands of minion town, Phil was preparing for the next day Measter! It was finally here! The eggs, the spirit, the hunt of eggs! When all of a sudden a knock on the door? He peeked through a hole in the wood It was Jerry! He was panting! He knocked again Phil decided to open the door, as he did, Phil said come in Je- he was interrupted by Jerry, who exclaimed The eggs! They re gone! Phil and Jerry ran from bush to tree to rock searching under over and in practically everywhere! And to their surprise no eggs!!! And then, over here! Tracks! The animal was limping. They headed east! shouted Phil with confusion and pride in his voice. Phil headed over to him. When he found the tracks they were the tracks of a BUNNY!!! Had they been bad to the Easter bunny??? Or Had someone stolen them-no-maybe-probably-no-or yes. They went to tell others there theory but they just turned their backs :{ even their best buddies and bro s Not friends any more HA they decided to go investigate themselves 9

10 SAPPHIRE CLASS PARTY!!!! By Vesa and Milu, Sapphire On Friday the 10th of February Sapphire class had a party. We had a special visitor come from France! This was Ollie VS! We had lots of fun. Most of Sapphire class baked cakes for the party. When we finished the party Ollie came. It was very tense! Sapphire was so excited to see Ollie. Emmanuel is very lucky to have Ollie come in from France to meet us. Rubik s cube: making the checkerboard pattern by Rohan, Opal 1. Start with a solved Rubik s cube. You need to start with your cube in the solved position to make a checkerboard pattern. Also known as a chessboard, your Rubik s cube will have a checkered pattern on each side when you are done. 2. Turn the sides. Begin by looking at the green side of your cube. Turn the right side of the cube two clicks forward. The three green squares should end up on the opposite side of the cube. Then, still facing the green side take the left side of the cube and turn it two clicks forward as well. 3. Turn the top and bottom. Keep the green center cube facing you. Then, turn the top row clockwise by 180 degrees (two clicks). Turn the bottom row 180 degrees as well. 4. Make your final spins. With the green center block still facing you, turn the front face of your cube by 180 degrees (two clicks), as if you are turning a dial. Turn the back side of your cube by 180 degrees as well. You ve now created a checkerboard on all sides of your cube. 10
