Section and trophy dances for all levels will commence directly after Titles at around 11.00am with the Highland Fling. ALL competitors must be modestly attired at all times; a T-shirt, or similar, must be worn if vest or jacket is removed. Child Protection You need parental permission to film other children under 18 years in NSW

3 RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR HIGHLAND DANCING. These rules are to be read in conjunction with the General Rules. 1) Any rules pertaining to competition, released by SOBHD or ABHDI from the time of printing this schedule to the date of the Competition, will be adhered to. 2) All dancers must be registered with their Regional or State Committee to be eligible to dance in this competition. Registration cards must be produced at the Competition to receive prizes. Prizes may be withheld until the card is produced. 3) All competitors compete at their own risk. 4) Competitors not ready to compete when called forfeit their right to compete. 5) Age of competitors to be taken as at date of competition. 6) Competitors must dance in their age group and at one level only. 7) The Committee reserves the right to make changes. 8) RESTRICTED PREMIER: For those competitors who have not been placed 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd in a Championship. 9) Winners of trophies are advised that complete Highland dress must be worn for presentation of trophies. The prize winners only may collect their prizes throughout the day. 10) PRIZES: Primary; Beginners; Novice and Intermediate: Medals awarded for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd depending on the number of entries. Premier dancers will be offered money or medals for section dances. 1 st - $20, 2 nd - $15, 3 rd - $10, highest placed restricted premier dancer if not placed in 1 st to 3 rd receives $5. Trophies and sashes will be awarded for Trophy Dance. Aggregate Trophies and Sashes will be awarded in each age group for Beginners and Novice. Trophy dances will not be included in the aggregates Titles Intermediate Titles will be awarded Sashes, Trophies and money 1 st : Sash, Trophy & $30. 2 nd : Sash, Trophy & $20. 3 rd : Sash, Trophy & $10, 4 th : Sash. Premier Titles will be awarded Sashes, Trophies and money 1 st : Sash, Trophy & $50. 2 nd : Sash, Trophy & $30. 3 rd : Sash, Trophy & $20, 4 th : Sash. 11) Prizes are awarded at the discretion of the Adjudicator. 12) Adjudicator's decision to be final except in cases of dispute regarding age or incorrect entry. 13) With the advent of video equipment there be no restrictions on the usage of video equipment provided permission is obtained from the organisers and judges and it does not interfere with the smooth organisation of the competition or in any way restrict the view of the judge/s. 14) That judges and organisers should bear in mind that the judge s decision is final and cannot be subjected to a video replay. 15) Medical Certificate dated for the day of/or prior to (including the date of) this competition must be provided to obtain a refund. 16) Any complaint made by an individual against the organisation or adjudication of an event, must be made in writing giving the complainant's full name and address, and shall be lodged with the Organiser, if possible on the day of the event and not later than 48 hours after the event. The complaint must be accompanied by a fee of $5:00 which is refundable if the protest is upheld. 17) Dancers must "fill in" for reels if requested by the Organiser. The comportment of a competitor may be judged when marshalled for or leaving the platform. Any unseemly behaviour on the part of a competitor or any misdemeanour likely to upset the decorum of the proceedings may be penalised by the judges and could lead to disqualification, but a full report of any such misconduct on the part of a competitor must be submitted by the judges to the organiser. 18) Scrutineering points 88, 56, 38, 25, 16, 10 will be used when required. 19) All holders of perpetual trophies will be held responsible for their safe custody and return at their own expense and in case of loss or damage, to pay the value for same.! Age groups for all levels shall be determined on entries.! Recorded music will be used throughout the competition.

The Canberra Celtic Pipe Band is a community based, family oriented organisation. We wear the Irish National Tartan and perform Irish and Scottish tunes and dances.

80% of the band are family members and able to perform the Sword Dance amongst other highland and Irish dances. With over 75% of the band aged under 20 years of age.

4 The Canberra Celtic Pipe Band is a community based, family oriented organisation. We wear the Irish National Tartan and perform Irish and Scottish tunes and dances. The band was founded in 2001 and has since grown to 40 playing members. We are unusual being the only pipe band in Australia in which the majority of the band members both dance AND play instruments. 80% of the band are family members and able to perform the Sword Dance amongst other highland and Irish dances. With over 75% of the band aged under 20 years of age. The band and dancers compete on a regular basis to maintain professional performances. The Canberra Celtic Pipe Band are the only non- sponsored pipe band in the ACT and surrounding area and are much in demand at Irish festivals and functions.
