2 Terrier Football 2018 Redlands Terriers Freshman Summer Football Summer Mini-Camp Dates: Monday June, 18 th thru June 28 th 2018 Parent & Player Meeting/Registration Monday, June 18 th at 6:00pm Meet in the North Campus Weight Room Four days a Week: Tuesdays - Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays - From 3pm- 6pm Fall Season begins Monday, July 23 rd (practices will be Mon.-Sat. with times TBD) Starting May 1 st : Contact Head Varsity Coach, Mike McFarland michael_mcfarland@redlands.k12.ca.us or Head Freshman Coach, Kevin Haugh kevin_haugh@redlands.k12.ca.us Please visit our website at Terrier Girls Volleyball Summer Volleyball: Where: RHS Terrier Gym When: Friday, June 8 th, & Saturday, June 9 th, 2018 Time: 10:00am 12:00pm Freshmen will be able to tryout out for the SUMMER volleyball team starting June 8 th, If a player makes the summer practice team, that player is NOT guaranteed a spot on the Freshmen Volleyball team for the 2018 season. The summer practice team is designed for players to improve throughout summer so they have a better opportunity to make the 2018 Freshmen team. If you make the SUMMER team, summer practices will be held Tues., Wed. and Thurs. starting Tuesday, June 12 th and continuing until Thursday, July 12 th (July 3 rd, 4 th & 5 th no practice). The times of practices will be announced when the selection for the SUMMER team is completed. Please make sure you have your clearance card. Any student-athletes that do not have their card will not be able to participate in any form. Incoming freshmen and parents can contact Head Coach Corinne Flowers beginning May 1 st, 2018 at corinne_flowers@redlands.k12.ca.us Terrier Water Polo Boys & Girls Summer Practice Schedule: DATES: TBD TIME: TBD LOCATION: Redlands High School Swimming Pool You must have a Clearance Card in order to practice during the summer! NO EXCEPTIONS! You can find all necessary information on the Redlands High School website, or by going by the North Campus Office. Summer practices will focus on strength & conditioning, and fundamentals. Student-athletes should bring a speedo, goggles, towel, sun screen, and work-out attire (gym shorts & athletic shoes). 3 Terrier Girls & Boys Cross Country Purpose: Our summer training program is designed to give our runners the edge. We compete against hundreds of different schools and thousands of individual runners throughout the season and summer training is essential to the individual and teams success. Our first practice will be held on July 18 th at 3:00pm at Prospect Park. All runners must be cleared by the school's athletic department via a clearance card. Practices will run Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays at 3:00pm and Tuesday and Fridays at 7:30am. Varsity is in Big Bear June 9 th and 10 th The Varsity will participate in the REV summer league June 12 th -28 th on Tues./Thurs. All 3 levels will be at CBU June 15 th & 16 th and at Palm Spgs. To participate in our program you must have a clearance packet from RUSD which can be found & downloaded from our website under athletics. Starting May 1 st, 2018, you may contact Coach Auron Martinez at: aurontodd93@gmail.com Terrier Boys Soccer The boys soccer program will be conducting one camp this summer: Camp: Incoming Freshman and Returning Players Camp: June 12 th, 13 th, and 14 th, 2018 from 4:00pm-6:00pm in Dodge Stadium This camp will introduce incoming players to the Terrier Soccer coaching staff. Players can expect to work on different facets of the game, including shooting, defending, dribbling, goalkeeping, possession, and tactics. This camp is also designed for incoming freshman to train and interact with the returning Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Frosh players. All players will train on the different facets of the game of soccer. Camp Donation - $50.00 (includes a T-Shirt) Must have a Clearance Card to participate in the Summer Camps Clearance packets and more information can be found on the RHS Athletics Webpage. 5 Terrier Girls Soccer Date: Tuesday, June 19 th Thursday, June 21 st Time & Location: Redlands High School- Dodge Stadium 5:45pm-8:15pm Open To: Incoming Freshmen - Seniors Cost: $20.00 Donations (Checks may be payable to Redlands High School Girls Soccer) Purpose: Come out and spend 3 days with the Terrier Coaching Staff this summer! We will use this time to go over coaching expectations for the upcoming season, conditioning, drills and have fun! Equipment: Soccer Cleats, Shin-Guards, Water, T-Shirt (NO TANK TOPS!!!) Requirements: CLEARANCE CARDS: ALL participants must have a current physical and clearance card through the RHS Athletics Office (North Campus). The Athletic Clearance packet can be found on the RHS main Athletics webpage. Players must have their clearance card on the first day of practice to participate. Starting May 1 st, 2018, please contact Head Coach Luis Chanure at luis_chanure@redlands.k12.ca.us or (909) ext with the following information: Name, Grade Level (18-19) and T-Shirt Size Terrier Tennis GIRLS TENNIS: Tryouts for the girls team will start the second week of school on Monday, August 13 th, at 2:45 and will last until 5:00. Tryouts should last a couple of days. You must be cleared by the athletics office before tryouts being in order to participate!! BOYS TENNIS: The boys will have tryouts near the end of the first semester or at the start of the second semester. If you are interested in joining my 6 th period coed-tennis PE class or you have any other tennis related questions, please me so that I can respond back in a timely manner. 6 Time: 4:30pm - 6:30pm Redlands Varsity Baseball Field There will be instruction on infield play, outfield play, catching, pitching, hitting, bunting, and base-running. The players will go through a typical Terrier baseball practice and intrasquad game. The Redlands Baseball team is coached by Estevan Valencia. Coach Valencia is currently in his 14th season at RHS, after serving as an assistant coach at the University of California, Riverside for 4 years. In his time at RHS, Coach Valencia and his staff have developed a strong baseball program with strong, independent, disciplined, and hard working baseball players. Many of his players have gone on to play college and pro baseball. Starting May 1 st, 2018, you may contact Coach Austin Brown at: abrown@hanaquest.com Terrier Softball Terrier Softball Camp Dates: July 10 th, 11 th, 12 th, 17 th, 18 th, and 19 th Ages: 6-18

7 Time: 6-12 year olds 11 AM to -1 PM Beginners *Younger campers with experience are allowed to try the advanced session at 1 PM with parental permission year olds 1-4:30 PM Advanced Camp Donation: $125 (checks can be made out to RHS Softball Boosters) Weekly rates available as well as team and family discounts *$90 if registered before June 22 nd No player will be turned away due to financial issues. This camp will be put on by the Redlands High School Coaching Staff and it s Alumni from Texas, San Jose State, Azusa Pacific, Fresno State, Saint Mary s, Nevada, Montana, LSU, UNLV, Campbell University, Cornell, Arizona, Long Beach State and many more! *In order to get a shirt with your participation in the camp you need to be registered by June 22 nd. Returning and incoming players must have a clearance card. Where: RHS Softball Fields The Redlands High School Softball Program has the goal to develop young girls to become the best team and individual softball players that they can become. The Redlands High School Softball Program is not only concerned with developing the softball skills of its players, but also wants to provide structure and support that will allow these girls to turn into productive and responsible young adults. The Redlands High School Softball Program will achieve this through hard work, structure and determination. We will take individual days to work on certain aspects of the game of softball. There will be drills, situations, video evaluation, scrimmages and other activities. This camp will develop offensive and defensive skills for players of all levels as well as teach the introduction to the Terrier Softball strength and conditioning program. 8 development time in Terrier Gym from July 9 th July 13 th, Practices are open to current team players, any RHS student who are interested in trying a new sport, and incoming freshmen. Join us from 2pm-4pm each afternoon and learn, refine and develop your badminton skills. Remember, you must have your clearance card from the Athletic Director s Office to be able to participate. 9 Redlands High School Terrier Athletics is about students, academics, and athletic excellence. Our athletic program has been established to help your son or daughter develop as a person, as a student, and as an athlete. Our athletic staff is dedicated to this. We are excited about the possibilities of your son or daughter coming to our school and we are prepared to help them develop as a student-athlete at Redlands High School. An aspect for you as parents to consider is that high school athletics is a privilege and not a right. Every public school enrollee has the right to be a student and the responsibilities there of. Athletics however is different. The Supreme Court has ruled that public school athletics is a privilege not a right. Students can gain the opportunity to be involved in athletics and students can lose that opportunity as well. It is essential for your son or daughter to know this.
