1 INTER-MOUNTAIN FAIR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ENTRY FORM / CONTRACT The 54th Annual Inter-Mountain Fair Scholarship Program will be Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at the fairgrounds in McArthur. Entries are limited to the first twelve applicants with a completed entry form. All entries must be complete and in the fair office on or before June 15th, Girls must have reached their 16 th but not their 20 th birthday before September 1, Previous contestants may not enter. She must be single, never have been married, not be nor have ever been pregnant, never have had a child or have a criminal history. This contest is limited to residents of the Fall River Joint Unified, Big Valley Joint Unified, Mountain Union and Indian Springs School Districts. All Contestants must be sponsored. A sponsor may be an organization, business or individual. Each contestant may a minimum of one sponsor with a maximum of five sponsors Contestants may not run for any other contest or title during preparation for the Inter-Mountain Fair Queen Scholarship Program. Non Participating Burney Basin Days Court, current year contestants may enter this scholarship program after the June 15, 2018 entry deadline. As a representative of the Inter-Mountain Fair, either as a contestant and/or royalty, you will adhere to certain high standards of conduct. Any apparent use of alcohol and/or tobacco will cause for immediate disqualification. Also, as determined by the Inter-Mountain Fair Scholarship program personnel, any violation of misconduct will result in a forfeit of your eligibility of scholarship money and your title. Contestants are to be on time and attend every practice. Mandatory practices are the week of the pageant and dress rehearsal is the night before the pageant. Contestants will be judged on the following: Personal Interview.. 30% Speech % Impromptu Question % Appropriate Apparel / Overall Visual Presentation % Participation % Communication: Each Contestant will be judged on the ability to communicate effectively. She will project enthusiasm, self confidence, a positive attitude, and a courteous demeanor with the sincere desire to represent and be a good public spokesperson for the Inter-Mountain Fair.

2 Appropriate apparel / Overall Visual Presentation: Wear appropriate attire, show poise and gracefulness. Each segment of the program requires a separate outfit. Contestants will be judged in a business style suit, casual wear, western wear and a floor length formal. No accessories such as hats, gloves, parasols, etc. may be worn with the formal. Jewelry is acceptable. Contestant must bring all clothing to be pre-approved by the pageant coordinator prior to the program. Participation: Contestants will participate in all practices and events. The final week of practice will include three mandatory practices. Failure to participate in the mandatory practices will be deemed an immediate dismissal. All information will be discussed at the parent/contestant meeting. Practice Dates, attending neighboring pageants, and the shopping trip date will be discussed at this meeting. Publication Photos will also be taken at this meeting so a sun dress should be worn. All Inter-Mountain Fair Scholarship program judging tally sheets, scores and all other judging material are the sole property of the Inter-Mountain Fair and will remain strictly confidential. Judges are chosen by the Pageant Coordinator and Pageant Assistant. No local person from the Inter-Mountain area will ever be allowed to judge this program. Judges will be from out of the area and do not know, nor have any contact with, any contestant prior to the program. Judges are chosen for their expertise in conducting professional interviews. Judges should project professional, diverse business skills and are familiar with similar scholarship programs. The contestant chosen Queen will receive a scholarship of $ The 1 st princess and 2 nd princess will receive scholarships of $ and $ respectively. The Miss Congeniality recipient is chosen by the contestants and will receive a crown, a sash and charm. Scholarship money will be held by the Inter-Mountain Fair until the recipient shows proof, with an official transcript, of completing a semester or quarter equivalent at a college, university or trade school. Recipient must have maintained a 2.5 G.P.A. She must have attended three designated pageant related activities not including the Inter-Mountain Fair. The Inter-Mountain Fair reserves the right to immediately dismiss any entrant who does not comply with the terms of this contract, or provides any false information, in this scholarship application Thank you for participating in this scholarship program. Develop professional communication skills. Build confidence and self assurance. Promote camaraderie.learn to work well with others Create a positive & life changing experience for each contestant to use as a foundation for her successful future Participation Criteria Each of you will receive points for attending and participating in the group s activities and practices. This part of the competition is so that you understand the importance of attending and being a part of the program. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to explore new adventures and for you to grow personally this summer. It is vital that you are ready for each practice by arriving 10 minutes early, have a good attitude and a friendly smile. Points are as follows: 2 points for practices and 5 points per activity for a total of 50 points possible. The two day shopping trip counts as 10 points.
