1 POINTE 2 PERFECTION DANCE STUDIO, LLC. PRESENTS MAGICAL WORLD OF DANCE Dear Parents and Dancers, It is with great pleasure that I welcome your participation in our 2018 recital. Our annual show will be held on Saturday June 9 at 2:00 pm. The goal of this recital packet is to provide you with as much information as possible pertaining to this year s recital and related activities. In this packet you will find details regarding tickets, rehearsals, picture day, and more. Please take time now to completely review this information and keep it handy for future reference. This packet should answer any questions that you may have. As always, please feel free to contact the studio if you have any further inquiries. 2 REHEARSALS Rehearsals will be held at the dance studio on Monday June 4, Wednesday June 6, & Thursday June 7. All Preschool Classes will rehearse from 5:00-5:45 each day. All other classes will rehearse from 6:00-7:30 each day. Saturday June 9 all classes (except preschool & competition dances) will be at Holy Cross High School to walk through dances at 10:00-11:00. Dancers can arrive in comfortable clothes they can move in. Preschool classes will be at Holy Cross High School from 11:00-11:45 to walk through their dances. *Leaders must be present for this* Lunch break is 11:45-12:45 Everyone will arrive back at Holy Cross for 12:45 and begin getting ready for the show!!! This rehearsal is closed to the public. ONLY ONE PARENT, GUARDIAN, OR HELPER IS ALLOWED PER DANCER at dress rehearsal. If additional guests are present at dress rehearsal tickets will need to be purchased for $20. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time. * When arriving, dancers are to check-in. Once you have checked-in, each performer should be waiting in the auditorium until their dance is called.

3 RECITAL Pointe 2 Perfection Dance Studio s Recital is being held on Saturday June 9, 2018 at Holy Cross High School 587 Oronoke Road Waterbury, CT Dancers are to be checked in to the theatre by 12:45pm. At the end of the finale dancers may be picked up from the backstage dressing area. Please send only one parent/guardian to pick up your child from the backstage once the show has ended. * Dancers should be ready with hair and make-up done for their first dance by 1:30. A cover up should be worn over costumes at all times.we don t want the audience to see costumes before we are on stage! * There should be no dancers in the auditorium in costume at any time!! If you are seen in the auditorium you will NOT be allowed to perform in the recital. * No dance shoes should be worn outside. * Costumes and accessories should be labeled with your name. * Dancers should wear a large shirt or button-up cover up over their costume. Please have your child wear street shoes prior to check-in. At no time should dance shoes be worn outside. * Please have dancers eat or drink in the dressing rooms. Only clear liquids and simple snacks (pretzels, goldfish, crackers) that cannot stain are recommended. NO NUT PRODUCTS ARE ALLOWED!! We have several dancers with severe allergies. * For the safety of the dancers, NO flash photography or videotaping will be permitted. Anyone seen videotaping or using flash photography will be asked to leave. Please be sure that your guests are aware of this.

4 IMPORTANT PERFORMANCE INFORMATION * All tights and accessories needed for your costume are included in your costume packets. If your tights should rip there will be some available for purchase at the theatre. * Hair must be completely off the face. NO BANGS or FLYAWAYS!! Hairspray and gel should be used along with bobby pins, hair pins, hairnets, and hair elastics that match your hair color. Specific details as to the style of your hair will be included in your costume packet. * NO JEWELRYcan be worn on stage. NO NAILPOLISHcan be worn on stage. NO UNDERWEARcan be worn under costumes. A dancers tights are their underwear. * Please be sure that you have the correct color and style of shoes for your dances. If you have any questions as to whether or not you have the correct shoes please ask. All ballet shoes should be pink and all jazz and tap shoes should be tan. * Make-up is important for all dancers to wear while on stage. The lighting is very bright and wearing make-up allows the dancers face to be seen from the stage. Foundation: Apply foundation that compliments the dancers skin over the entire face. Eye shadow: Cover Girl Simmering Sands Eyeliner: A brown or black eyeliner pencil should be applied to the top and bottom eye lids. Mascara: Brown or black mascara should be applied to the top and bottom eyelashes. Blush: Apply a medium pink or light rose colored blush to the apple of the cheek and blend upward toward the ear Lipstick: Apply a medium red color to lip

5 TICKET SALES Tickets will be on sale Sunday May 20 from 12:00-2:00 at Pointe 2 Perfection Dance Studio. Tickets are $20 and are CASH ONLY. Seating is general admission and there is no ticket limit. Tickets will also be available for purchase during the week while the studio is open as well as at the door the day of the show. There will be no refunds on tickets. PARENT VOLUNTEERS Parent volunteers are needed as backstage helpers and line-up attendants. Each class will need 1 volunteer; with the exception of Preschool classes which will need 2 helpers. You will help line the dancers up and bring them backstage for their performance. You are required to stay with the class the entire length of the show and will not need to purchase a ticket. If interested, please let Miss Christina know. Please be aware that no students will be allowed to perform in the recital until all balances for the year have been paid in full. Account balances are to be paid by May 27. All balances are to be paid in CASH ONLY.
