10 WELLNESS TIP OF THE WEEK #14 Have a Cold? Too late for OJ Many people believe that Vitamin C is the best way to fend off a cold. However, research actually shows that people who have a regular intake of vitamin C actually do not get colds any less than the general population. Some research taken preventatively, but unfortunately, there is no benefit at all once you are already sick. Vitamin C rich foods play an important role in supporting your immune system overall, but don t have the magical effect on Colds that many believe they do. Here are some foods that are good sources of Vitamin C: Oranges, strawberries, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, mango, pineapple, kiwi, broccoli, kale, and green bell pepper Always be careful and talk to a parent or a doctor first before you seriously up your vitamin C intake. There is such a thing as too much. More than 2,000 mg a day can cause stomach issues.
