1 Penfield Girls Lacrosse Booster Club Meeting Minutes February Meeting Date: 2/9/17 Meeting Location and time: PHS A-1, 7:00-8:00PM Attendance:, Julie Gobel, Jeff Gobel, Art Petrone, Robyn Cox, Tom Willette, Marlene Motkowski, Marcy Bell, Kate Blumenstock, Danielle Akins, Gretchen Baumer Activity: Financial Summary: o Updates - Balance $17, Only bill paid since the last meeting was for the backpacks ($950) and the website renewal ($120). - Waiting on receipts for decorations, keys and locks for the bulletin case. 2 Global Booster Update: - Facilities grant requests will be due March 1st - Annual Global Booster Club Golf Tournament will be Monday July 24th at Eagle Vale. Gretchen Baumer for Marlene Nesselbush 2 Website Update: - Spoke with Coach Smith about the girls having bio s on the website. Will start with the current Varsity players once the teams are decided get the remanding Varsity players. Once Varsity is complete JV will be next. - The schedule for March has been updated Danielle Akins for Marcy Wing Brunch Wrap-Up: tickets were printed only 80 were sold. - Suggestions made for next year: (1)Change the date to another time during the year or during the season. (2) Change the fundraising model in June, decide on what the fundraisers will be for the upcoming year and communicate all at once. Denny Burdick Cinco Updates: - Teams have been informed for the date. - More updates at the March meeting. Coaches Update: - A couple of games have been added: The first on 4/21 JV and Varsity will have games vs. HFL. The second on 5/17 JV and Varsity will travel to Skaneateles. The Skaneateles game will be a regular season game. - The scrimmage at Stella Maris is on 4/18 vs. Livonia - Sectionals this year will start 5/20. It s possible our first sectional game could be around 10 days later.

3 Penfield Lacrosse Headbands: - Looked into ordering Lululemon headbands for the girls. They will say Pen Lax. - $18 per headband (including printing) if we have the minimum amount order anything less it will be $20 per headband. - Emily and Megan have sample will show the girls. - Looking to place two separate orders Varsity/JV then Modified. Will have order forms for Modified at face-off dinner. 3 Julie Gobel Marlene Motkowski Lacrosse Yearbook Update: - Currently we have 3 Ads turned in with 20 days to go. - Looking for Coach Smith and parent reps to send out reminder s. First Coach Smith (prior to break) then parents reps (during break). - Girls are currently selling their full page Parent Ad cheaper then the Boys. Boys are charging $400 the Girls are charging $100. Pricing for Business Ad are on par with the Boys. - Families at the meeting discussed possible alternative/backup plans: (1) to solve this years issue take off the full page ad; (2) change our full page charge to $400; (3) if Boys no longer want to work with us this year then we need to reach out to possible parents who are/know graphic designers, reach out to PHS or RIT students. The executive board will reach out to the Boys we are hoping to get a response by Sunday. - Families at the meeting discussed possible suggestions for the future: (1) more statistics and/or a handouts for businesses (what business purchase ads, how many are printed, to where are the kids going to school, etc). (2) Reach out to our donors for the Social and ask them to be sponsors. Example: sponsor a table get a program ad. (3) If the Boys and Girls want to do separate yearbooks reach out to a graphic designer. - A question was asked about why our deadline is so early? The committee sets the deadline. A lot of the Parent Ads have to be designed by the committee. It gives them a enough time to do that and give a complete package to the Boys by their deadline. Art Pertrone Mark Brozost
