First, we are trying out a new venue: the Latvian Community Center at 1008 W. 64 th St. So, come and enjoy an evening of fun dancing and let us know what you think of this facility. See page 5 for details. Also, we celebrate our 32 nd anniversary with dinner and dancing at Serendipity in Plainfield. If you have not been to Serendipity in the Metropolis Mall, you are in for a real treat! This year, our event will be in the larger room, which means you will be able to walk out onto the balcony to view the center of the mall and at night, it s stunning!! I ll give two free regular dance admissions to the first two people who tell me they read this. Come and enjoy a buffet meal and some very special performances!! It s a night you don t want to miss! But hurry! The discount ticket price of $25 is good until March 10; after that all tickets are $30. See page 5 for details. Saturday, April 18, get ready for a roaring 20s Chicago party!! Based on the 2002 film of the same name, this award-winning musical takes place in 1924 and includes fabulous music perfect for foxtrot, quick step and tango. 2 Secretary s Report Indy Dancers Feb. 10, 2015 Meeting Minutes Rhonda Bennett Financial Report Indy Dancers, Inc. Income Statement President Carl Dankert opened the meeting at 8 Seconds Saloon, Tuesday, Feb. 10. Carl announced that tickets for the Indy Dancers 32 nd Annual Anniversary Dinner Dance were on sale. The dance, which includes a full buffet dinner, will be held at Serendipity in Plainfield. Tickets are $25 for members. Club members were urged to volunteer to help Rheta check in members at the door for 30 minutes to an hour for free or reduced admission. If anyone is interested, they should see Vice President Phil Morgan. Carl noted that Indy Dancers will celebrate Mardi Gras, Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the. Members were encouraged to wear green, yellow and other bright costumes and masks. The club will even have some beads to share. Additionally, members were reminded that the club will meet March 10 at the Latvian Center on West 64 th St. Maps will be provided in the next newsletter. Carl called for a motion to accept the January secretary s report. A motion was made, seconded and approved. Volunteers are needed to plan and work on special theme parties. Duties include developing themes for parties, determining refreshments and decorating. Commitment can be limited to individual events.
