1 International Competition for Classical and Contemporary Dancers The INTERNATIONAL ORCHEDANCE COMPETITION aims to be an original, unique event on the international panorama of classic and modern dance competitions. The added artisticemotional value is provided by the combination of live dance, music and song. Just like professionals, the young dancers taking part, aged 10 to 26 years, will have the privilege of performing at the Teatro Augusteo di Salerno accompanied by the orchestra. They will also be able to gain experience with the modern repertoire of internationally famous choreographers. These young future artists will be judged by a toplevel international jury, and winners will receive cash prizes and scholarships for internships and events with some of the most prestigious names on the international dance scene. The competition will be divided into three parts:

2 Preselection Semifinals Finals Deadline for entries 1 October 2017 Art. 1 The INTERNATIONAL ORCHEDANCE COMPETITION is divided into two sections: CLASSICAL Solos and Pas de Deux : Youth: between 10 and 14 years of age Junior: between 15 and 18 years of age Senior: between 19 and 26 years of age CONTEMPORARY Solos, Pas de Deux,Groups Youth: between 10 and 14 years of age Junior: between 15 and 18 years of age Senior: between 19 and 26 years of age The Ballet Solos and Pas de Deux Junior and Senior Category Sections also include ballet Pas de Deux taken from the repertoire; Pas de Deux dancers are not judged as a couple but as solo dancers, hence the reason for the Coda being requested as well as the Pas de Deux. Note: minimum and maximum age must be as at 31 December Art.2 The competition will take place in the Teatro Augusteo in Salerno from the10th to the 12 th of November 2017 with the following programme: 10 November 2017 Warmup lesson/s Classical semifinal with cd 11 November 2017 Warmup lesson/s Contemporary semifinal with cd 12 November 2017 Warmup lesson/s Classical and Contemporary finals with live orchestra After enrolment with the secretarial office, each school/dancer will receive their timetable for onstage rehearsals from the stage director.

3 Art.3 JUDGING COMMISSION The jury and its president, who will be called on to judge the competition, will comprise Italian and international famous names in ballet, modern dance and choreography. The Competition Artistic Director will not be entitled to vote on the commission and will only announce the sections that the commission will judge and the names of all the candidates taking part. Should arrival of any of the jury members be delayed due to force majeure, work by the judging commission shall however be carried out by the members present. The jury has the broadest faculty of judgement and its decision is final. Should any member of the jury withdraw a few days before the competition, the organisation shall provide a replacement member of the same artistic level, without any prior communication. Art.4 PRESELECTIONS Preselection of performances will be judged from videos or in organised locations. This stage is completely free of charge. Videos for preselection may be freely chosen. Candidates must send their videos to preselections@orchedance.com. (Large files can be sent via wetransfer.com using the address above). Candidates considered suitable for the semifinal must confirm their participation in the competition by paying the entry fee relative to their chosen category and sending an all the required documents as described in Article 9. The semifinal and final stage will take place in the abovementioned Teatro Augusteo in Salerno All candidates must arrive at 8 o clock the day of the their semifinal.

6 The links to the YouTube videos are provided merely to give entrants an idea of the musical version of the variations that will be played with orchestra. No Choreographic version is requested. N.B All candidates in the Classical Solo and Pas de Deux Youth Category Section can present variations and pas de deux taken from the classical repertoire. For this category alone modifications can be made to the choreography of the classical repertoire chosen that take into account the entrant s abilities. All candisates in the Classical Solo and Pas de Deux Junior and Senior Category Sections must present variations and pas de deux taken from the Classical Repertoire without any great modifications or technical simplification. CONTEMPORARY Candidates in the Contemporary Solo/Pas de deux/groups Youth Category Sections will present their own choreographies. One will be free choreography to music of their choice on CD for the semifinal, the other free choreography played by the orchestra for the final. (The performances with the orchestra must be choreographed to set competition music). (The choreographies will be available to download on line to those candidates who pass the preselection stage, following the instructions provided)

9 Art.5 SEMIFINALS All entrants passing the preselection stage will be admitted to the Semifinals. FINALS All entrants passing the semifinal stage will be admitted to the Finals. The jury s decision is final and will decree the winners and nonattribution of any prizes such as the INTERNATIONAL ORCHEDANCE COMPETITION Special Prize. Art.7 Dancers must abide by the set times for the Solos and Pas de Deux. Failure to do so will result in direct elimination. The length of the piece will be determined by the orchestra. Art.8 All entrants must have a DVD of their selected choreography (preferably two copies), on the back of which they must write their name and surname, date of birth, section and category. All entrants will be on the FDC database (for more information please see which will be put at the disposal of dance companies taking part and looking for dancers. Art.9 ENTRY APPLICATION FOR SOLOS, PAS DE DEUX and GROUPS The attached entry application must be completely filled in and sent to subscription@orchedance.com together with the following documents: CERTIFICATE OF STRONG HEALTHY PHYSICAL CONSTITUTION; BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR SELFCERTIFICATION WITH ATTACHED PHOTOCOPY OF ID TWO PASSPORTSIZE PHOTOS PROOF OF PAYMENT OF FOR SOLOISTS, FOR PAS DE DEUX, AND FOR EVERY DANCER IN THE GROUP(MINIMUM 6, MAXIMUM 12). 10 The deadline for entry applications is 1 October 2017 for all competition sections. Entrants can apply to enter more than one section, subject to payment of the relative fees. Applications unaccompanied by the abovementioned documents will not be considered. Candidates must be sent no later than the deadline date: 1 October The postmark will be considered proof of posting date. 11 Ex Aequo prizes may be awarded. The Jury reserves the faculty to decide whether to award the Special Prize or not Scholarships will also be awarded for internships and/or contracts at prestigious schools and with national and international dance companies. Art.11 Candidates admitted to the INTERNATIONAL ORCHEDANCE COMPETITION automatically authorise the competition organisers (unless lack of consent is expressly stated in writing) to freely use their image and personal details for the purposes of promotion, information and statistics, in compliance with Italian Law no. 675 of 31 December 1996, as subsequently amended, and accept all the articles and content of these regulations. The court in Napoli has sole jurisdiction for any controversy. ALL JUNIOR AND SENIOR CANDIDATES IN THE CONTEMPORARY SOLOS, PAS DE DEUX AND GROUP SECTION WHO PRESENT CHOREOGRAPHIES TAKEN FROM THE COMPETITION SET MODERN CHOREOGRAPHY REPERTOIRE AGREE NOT TO USE THESE SAME CHOREOGRAPHIES IN OTHER PERFORMANCES, COMPETITIONS OR SHOWS. Art.12 Nobody other than the candidates called by the organisational staff may be present backstage throughout the entire competition. Art.13 The competition organisers reserve the faculty to cancel the competition if the number of entrants does not guarantee a successful event. Only in this case will entry fees be refunded. Art. 14 The stage has black background and wings and is 10 metres wide and 10 metres deep. Tickets for the competition must be booked by competition@orchedance.com
