Event Dates: Friday - Sunday, September19-21, You are welcomed to stay through Sunday, September 21st, however your Troop is on it s own following the closing ceremony on Saturday evening if you plan to leave on Sunday. Location: Fond Du Lac Campground - The Fond Du Lac Campground is located along MN State Hwy 23 at the western edge of Duluth. The campground is on the right side between the St. Louis River and the highway across from the Hwy 210 split into Jay Cooke Park. Note- Hwy 210 through Jay Cooke Park is still closed due to flood damage. If you cross the Fond Du Lac bridge, you went 75 yards too far. Cost: $8.00 / participant. SCOUTMASTERS: Your Troop won t want to miss this Camporee! Your boys will have fun and earn advancement. You will get the opportunity to rub shoulders with other leaders and find out how they handle Troop situations you may be concerned about. Special Note from Dave Blazevic Camporee Chairman: This is an excellent opportunity to get your Unit started off for the fall. We would hope to see every Unit in our districts represented for at least some of the event simply because it s close to home, you can register onsite, and it s great fun for the boys. If you can t make it as a Troop, send a Patrol for the day, or even part of the day. Council and District events should be a priority on your Troop s calendar to give the boy s a chance to learn from and compete with other Scouts. Please remember to give your Scouts the opportunity to get the most out of what Scouting has to offer! The knowledge and experience you can pick up at this event can be invaluable to your Unit. 2 Schedule: Friday, September 19, pm, Set-up, registration and check-in at headquarters. Please complete the attached registration sheet prior to check-in. Patches will be given to Unit leaders at checkout. Campsites are on a first come first served basis 9pm, Troop Leaders & SPL Meeting at headquarters. 9:30pm, Leader s Cracker-barrel. Each unit bring an item to share. 11pm, Lights out. Saturday, September 20,2014 7am, Breakfast 8:30am, Opening Ceremony at headquarters. 9:00am- Start of morning activities, Triathlon and Site inspections 11:30am, Lunch-Provided by the Camporee staff this year 12:30pm, Ninja Scout Skill Challenge, Bake-off preparation 4:30pm, Supper, pack-up campsite (if leaving Saturday night) 5:00pm, Troop Dessert Competition (SPL s judge at headquarters). 7pm, Assembly & BSA Ninja Championship Finals and movement to Campfire. 8:30 pm, Closing & Depart (Saturday departure optional) Prior to Departure: Police call areas, checkout with headquarters.

3 Troop/Patrol Equipment List Bicycles and helmets Troop Sign - be creative and show some Scout spirit! 1 Boy Scout Handbook per patrol 1 good - dry - skit - have you got one? Item for Dessert Competition-each patrol can enter one item 1 can of soup for each participants Miscellaneous Stuff: Water available on site. Firewood is not available on-site. Low Impact Camping encouraged. The campground has picnic tables and fire rings - which can be selected on a first come, first served basis. You will have to provide your own firewood. Parking on-site will be limited to camporee necessary equipment. After equipment is dropped off, vehicles will be parked off-site in a designated (close) area. Plan to remove your own garbage - trash receptacles are limited. Your troop will be required to display a troop sign at the front of your site. The sign should include your troop number, chartered organization and community. Scout uniforms should be worn at the Saturday campfire program. Activity Details: Many activities are being planned by the Camporee Committee. Some of the events will need little or no preparation other than standard Scout skills, patrol teamwork and leadership - but the following events are some of the most exciting ones that will require some preparation in advance. Each Troop is asked to provide adults to help at the activity stations. Lunch- Lunch will be provided by the Camporee staff to maximize the time Scouts get to participate in camporee activities. We can use some help out preparing and serving the meal. Cat and Mouse: This activity will be available but the pre-campfire competition this year will be the Patrol BSA Ninja Individual run off. Triathlon: This was an event suggested by Scouts the past few years as an opportunity to challenge themselves in canoeing, biking and running. Teams will consist of 2-9 members. Patrols may enter as a team, but a minimum of two members must buddy up for each event. No solo entries will be allowed. The buddy system is required for safety sake. Scouts will need to provide their own bikes and helmets. Running will be approximately 1.5 miles and biking 4.5 miles (on both roads and woodland trails) and canoeing will be ½ mile. Helmets are mandatory. Enter as many teams as you like. The competition will be held Saturday morning only.

4 Patrol Dessert Competition: The Dessert Competition will take place on Saturday, at 5pm. Items may be prepared on stoves, open fire or dutch ovens. The judges are the unit SPL s, so remind your junior leaders of this important responsibility. Each Troop should bring a sample of their dessert to the headquarters area. Be sure to label your offering with your Patrol name, unit number and the name of the item. Scout Skill Competitions- Several Scout skill competitions will be planned for the afternoon activity session. Participation in them will be required for each patrol's final scoring for the Top Patrol Award. Everything will be provided for these events. BSA Ninja Warrior Challenge-An American Ninja Warrior style obstacle will be combined with Scout skill challenges to give patrols an extremely fun and challenging opportunity to test their Scout skills, leadership, and ingenuity against other patrols. The best score out of 3 attempts will be kept for judging. DON'T LET YOUR PATROLS MISS THIS!!! Each patrol will select one individual to compete in the pre-campfire BSA Ninja Warrior Championship. Everyone is encouraged to cheer on your competitor. Campfire Program: The traditional Saturday evening campfire program will take place around 7pm. Troops should plan to bring a friendship log to throw on the fire. Be prepared to do a skit, song, or cheer (no water skits please). The usual assortment of unique awards will be presented. Let headquarters know if you have or would like to make a special presentation. SPL s will be asked to give a short recap of their Troop s summer event. Registration information: If your unit can only attend during Saturday, we can squeeze any extra units in. An Official Registration Form has been enclosed. To simplify registration, all we need is an by Sept. 14 th from your unit with a GUESSTIMATE of how many boys and adults will be attending. You can complete final registration on-site. This is a tough weekend with so many school activities that we want to make it as easy as possible for as many to attend as we can. Last minute registrations are welcome at the camporee site! If you are only visiting and do not want a patch there is no charge for this event. PLEASE GIVE US AN ESTIMATE OF HOW MANY FROM YOUR UNIT WILL BE ATTENDING FOR PLANNING PURPOSES BY SEPT. 14!!!. YOU CAN FILL OUT THE FINAL ROSTER ON-SITE.
