1 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Welcome to the Tarboro Parks and Recreation s summer program offerings. The summer schedule will again consist of weekly or monthly sessions. Each class size is limited to the number of weeks and participants it will accommodate depending on the type of activity the class involves. Registration will begin on Tuesday, May 1 at E. L. Roberson Center (305 West Baker Street) which is open from 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Classes are on a first come, first serve basis by completing the registration form with payment. No registrations will be taken before May 1 nor can they be taken over the telephone. Parents or guardians must register their children only. All programs may be rescheduled or cancelled based on class size. Payment is required when submitting Youth Athletic registrations. FEES All fees either Town of Tarboro resident or non-resident must be paid at the time of registration. You must live inside the corporate limits of Tarboro at the time of your registration in order to be charged the Town of Tarboro resident rate. Non-residents pay twice the normal fee or $25 whichever is greater. Refunds will only be available if the class or program is cancelled. In this brochure, the following fees indicate the Town Resident Rate. Town Non-Residents must add-on for the non-resident fee. Mon-Fri 6-7 pm No class the week of Jul 4th. Session: July 30-August 3 COOKING CLASS Ages 8-13 Class teaches adding spices to create a great meal by the kids. Mon, Wed, Fri 10-11:30am Session: July 9 27 BOYS & GIRLS BASKETBALL CAMP Ages 7-13 Camp is designed to develop skills such as dribbling, passing plus coordination and shooting. Mon, Wed, Fri, 10-11:30 am Sessions: June 18-29; July FITCLUB DANCE CLASS Ages 4-13 Learn pop, hip-hop choreography style dancing. Mon, Wed, Fri, 10-11:30 am Session: July 23-August 3 CREATIVE YOUTH ART CAMP Ages 6-12 This course provides constructive, hands-on activities for youth to artistically express themselves. FOOTBALL CAMP Ages 8-13 Page 2 Wednesday, July 4th 6:00-9:00 pm Stay to Watch Fireworks by Zambelli Join us at Braswell Park for July 4th on the Lawn. Beginning at 6pm, play in the park with children s games, inflatables, DJ with line dancing, food vendors and more summer fun. Bring your lawn chairs and entire family to enjoy playing in the park and then viewing the fireworks. Around 9:15 pm, the fabulous fireworks will be displayed from Tarboro High School grassy parking lot. For safety reasons, spectators will have restricted access within 500 feet (safety dropzone) of the display set-up area. No personal fireworks (open flames) or pets allowed, thank you. Camp is designed to develop skills of confidence, coordination, and football offense/defense. Mon-Fri 6-7 pm Session: July 30-August 3 TECH CAMP Ages 8-13 This course provides youth the opportunity to gain real-time experience using real tools to build various projects. Roberson Center, or online at League age is based on the age of participant on August A copy of your child s birth certificate is also required. ALL PLAYERS MUST REGISTER PRIOR TO ASSESSMENTS. The department s goal is to balance team composition through this assessment process. Players are not guaranteed to return to their previous team. All assessments will be at the Indian Lake Sports Complex. Bring your own bike. Kids will take part in events such as cycling, braking, signaling, and turning. After the rodeo, stay for Family Day at Clark Park with music, games, and plenty of food. FREE. 8 AQUATICS: call SWIMMING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN Ages 4-15 Two week swimming lesson meets Mon-Fri at Community Pool where children will be taught basic swimming skills for all levels. No class July 4th. Register for Class I or Class II per session. CLASS I : 10-10:45 am CLASS II : 11-11:45 am SESSION I SESSION II SESSION III June July 2-13 July FEE/SESSION: $25 INFANT Birth-3 years Two week swimming lesson meets Mon-Thu at Community Pool where instructor leads parents along with infant in basic swimming skills such as water immersion, floating, kicking and more.
