IP, LLC Insider Spring 2015 Vol. 4 Ed. 2 Valentine's Day Fun On Thursday, February 13th, We had some Valentine s Day fun! We iced heart cookies with pink and white icing. Then, we sprinkled pink, red, and white heart candies on them. Finally, we wrapped them in clear bags and tied them with red ribbon. Happy Heart Day presents for our mom!! Next, we tried to do some baking! We made Caramel Marshmallow Popcorn Balls! We popped fresh popcorn and put it in a big bowl. Then, we melted butter (1/2 cup). We added 1 cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of corn syrup to this mixture. We stirred it together. Next, we added 20 marshmallows to this and stirred until they melted. We poured this mixture over the popcorn and mixed well! Lastly, we formed balls and let them get hard. YUM! We even decided to make another batch that was chocolate! We followed the same recipe but added GHIRARDELLI CHOCOLATE CHIPS and HERSHEY COCOA!!! DEE licious! We wrapped these up nicely, also! We ended our day reading Valentine poems and heartwarming stories at the book store!! ~Solon and Mosanine Solon & Mosanine

Rodney and Rocky Rocky and Rodney had never been on a submarine, until today at the Carnegie Science Center. What they both liked about their experience was how interesting it looked on the inside. Particularly all of the buttons and knobs. They both thought the beds that the sailors had to sleep on were really hard and very small. They thought everything was very small including the showers, kitchen, and especially the doorways. Although they both liked the experience, both brothers agreed that they would not like living on a submarine or being out at sea.

On March 19, 2015 the Bey brothers went to the Glass Center to explore a new exhibit. The show was centered around the letters of the alphabet. You could pick up neon glowing letters and spell your name or other words. The guys enjoyed spelling their names, favorite music groups, etc. But their favorite word to spell was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. They had a blast spelling different things with their friends. They even had their picture taken by the Pittsburgh Glass Center for their website.

"I had a good time!" March 8, 2015 I saved my money for 9 months. I saved enough for Disney on Ice tickets! Stacey and I went on March 8th. We saw Disney on Ice at The Consol Energy Center. I had a good time! We saw Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Mickey and Minnie, Cinderella, Snow White and Frozen! The snow came down, that was my favorite part! "Let it go! Let it go!" Stacey took pictures of the show. We went to Walmart and printed them. I put the photos in my album. I now can show my friends and co-workers. ~Jessica K.

Superstar Carrie Underwood won her 7th GRAMMY Award at the 57th annual show, winning for Best Country Solo Performance for Something in the Water. There's no doubt Carrie Underwood is feeling blown away because on Friday, Feb. 27th, the country crooner gave birth to a baby boy named Isaiah Michael Fisher. It s been a year in the making, and I am ready for Kenny s The Big Revival Tour. He will be coming to Pittsburgh on May 30th at Heinz Field. Angie and I have our tickets. It will be very crowded and busy that night, but tons of fun. It will be very late when I get home. I can t wait though. I sure am looking forward to it. My mom reminds me that it will be here before I know it. I am with my friend Katie today and her favorite country singer is Taylor Swift. Swift's fifth album, the pop-focused 1989, was released in It sold more copies in its opening week than any album in the previous 12 years, and made Swift the first and only act to have three albums sell more than one million copies in the opening release week. The singles "Shake It Off and "Blank Space" both reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

I love to entertain and have my friends over for dinner parties. We take turns planning the menu, shopping for everything, and preparing our meal together. We work on cooking skills, measuring, chopping, following the recipes and safety in the kitchen. (no food fights...) The table was set with a table cloth, cloth napkins and a vase of flowers for this month s dinner party. After dinner is cleaned up we have fun playing a board game and laughing. I hoping to cook out on my grill next month and play bocce in the back yard. ~Regina

Beth Cooking with Chris First we bought the ingredients at Aldi s. We bought French onions, ham, and cream of mushroom soup. Then we came back and made ham sandwiches. I put ham and cheese on and put it in the George Foreman grill which was better than doing it in the pan because we didn t need to butter the bread. It turned out fabulous. Meanwhile, Beth and Jen made brownies using eggs, water, and oil. Beth was in charge of stirring. She did it for awhile until her hand got sore. Then Jen poured it and put it in the oven. We set a timer and waited for the bell to go off. Next month we plan to make hamburgers. Chris Chris

In February we had a Valentine s Day Party. The party was tons of fun. We made heart sun catchers. The dough for the craft baked a little browner than we expected. The colors sure were pretty melted together though. There were lots of paper and pencil games for us to do. Word searches are my favorite. We played a February themed version of Jeopardy. I believe the team that I was on won that day. We exchanged Valentine s with each other, too. So much fun in one day! ~Susan Chris Connie & Kaylee Karen & Kim Patsy & Roberta MaryEllen, Susan & Margaret

Beth enjoys thrift shopping. This is where she finds all her collectables - such as pins, Beanies, Boyd's bears and Breyer horses. She has been collecting for 4 years. Her favorite thrift stores are the Red, White and Blue Thrift Store, American Thrift, Salvation Army, and Goodwill.

The Andy Warhol Museum is one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, and a collaborative project between the Carnegie Institute, the Dia Art Foundation, and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Plans to house The Warhol in Pittsburgh, Warhol s birthplace, were announced in 1989, and the museum opened its doors in May Originally built in 1911 as a distribution center for products sold to mills and mines, The Warhol was designed by architect Richard Gluckman and features seven floors of gallery and exhibition space. David

Michael Jackson Trivia Answers 1. a, 2. b, 3. d, 4. a, & 5. c On St. Patrick s Day everyone is Irish. There were two parties planned to celebrate the holiday. St. Patrick s Day themed coasters were made as well as Pipe cleaner shamrocks. A wide variety of games were played by all. As always there were lots of treats. A huge thank you to the St. Bede s Dance committee for their donation of sweets!
