4 Dynamic Division (Recreational) Class Descriptions Fall Classes Begin Monday, September 10th! JAMM Dynamic Division Program This program is our recreational combination classes and single dance style class options. The program is designed for students 2.5 years through adult. This program runs from September June These classes are open to all new and returning students of JAMM Dance. These students may also enroll in more than one class if they choose. All students in the JAMM Dynamic Dance Division Program will perform in our yearly June recital. Descriptions of each program within our JAMM Dynamic Division are listed below. These classes are structured by grade in school for the perfect fit for your dancer! Tot JAMM: These classes give 2.5 yr. old's-preschool students the freedom to express their creativity through dance. Students will learn the basics of tap and ballet technique and terminology using music, props and inventive exercises. Our staff provides a fun and loving atmosphere that sets the stage for future advancement into other JAMM Dance programs. Activities are designed to develop self esteem, being acclimated to a classroom setting and an awareness of others. Benefits to your child include increased motor/skill coordination, physical flexibility, social skills, such as following directions and learning physical concepts like energy and speed. Hip Hop Tots: This class is a high-energy hip hop class for 2.5 yr. old s- Pre-School students! Students will learn fun hip hop moves using music, props and inventive exercises. Hip Hop Tots is run similarly to our Tot JAMM class, and offers all the great benefits and opportunities listed above (see Tot JAMM description.) Kidz JAMM B & A, Pre-Teen B & A: Anyone in grades Kindergarten - High School can participate in these programs. Classes are structured by grade in school, then by level for the perfect fit for your child to learn and excel. Each class will learn jazz and tap technique and routines to be performed in our yearly June recital. Girl Frenzy: Girl only hip-hop is offered to youth and teens. Come learn some of the hottest, new hip-hop moves and music video dances! This is a mix of jazz funk and hip hop. Super fun! Girl Power at its BEST! JAMM Boyz: This class is a high-energy hip hop class for Boyz. Students will learn the beginner basics of breaking, popping and locking with some fun choreography. Boyz Hip Hop: A strong focus on breaking, popping and locking with some fun choreography. JAMM Ladies: A night just for you! Join us for this really fun and upbeat adult tap and jazz class. This class is designed as a technique class in tap and jazz for all dance levels. No performance will be required. However, we would be open to a performance if the class showed an interest in doing so. Ballet Program The JAMM Dance Ballet Program offers students of all ages a serious disciplined approach to classical ballet technique. Whether students wish to continue their ballet training at the university level, enhance their overall dance abilities, pursue a professional career or just enjoy being part of the beauty of ballet, JAMM Dance offers classes that will appeal to all! Benefits of ballet training include a solid foundation in ballet technique, understanding of ballet vocabulary and history of dance, growing artistry in performance and increased mastery and control of one's body. Students in the ballet program are also exposed to a variety of dance styles to expand their versatility and dance vocabulary. Additionally, there will be various opportunities throughout the year for students to increase their dance enrichment by attending local or touring ballet, modern or contemporary dance performances. Pointe Intermediate/Advanced & Beginner: Students 12 years of age or older. Current students will be placed by the ballet director s recommendation.

5 Competition Companies Class Descriptions Fall Classes Begin Monday, September 10th! Competitive Dance Program JAMM Dance offers a variety of National and Regional Competitive Dance opportunities for all ages. Students participating in this program undergo a rigorous training and rehearsal regimen that culminates in performance opportunities. Students will attend several competitions throughout the season. August auditions determine which JAMM students will appear in the programs. Staff and/or professional choreographers create unique dance pieces for the groups which travel to dance conventions and competitions throughout the state and surrounding states performing in one or more of the following styles: ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theater and hip-hop categories. Students in the competitive dance program take a pre-determined number of ballet and jazz technique classes each week. Competition students may also be eligible for additional classes, solo and small group opportunities by invitation and audition. The Purpose of Competition at JAMM While we attend competitions that are judged and receive placement awards, the focus of our competitive dance program is NOT to attain TROPHIES. We understand that no one plans to go to competition and hopes not to win. However, it is not our purpose for competition dance here at JAMM. At JAMM, we compete to gain critiques on how to improve as a faculty, as a team and for each individual dancer to learn and improve. The purpose of our competitive program is to use the critiques gained at competitions as teaching tools to better each dancer. Our main focus is to provide the necessary tools and training so our dancers are able to transition to college level dance programs and be placed as working dance professionals, if they choose. Competition Dance We offer Competition Dance for all ages. All students who wish to be placed on a competition companie at JAMM are required to audition and attend JAMM the Intensive in August. See the summer flyer for details. This program is designed for the serious dancer who wants to live at the studio. Competition students typically are only in dance and it serves as their only activity. These dancers are at the studio at a minimum of three to 5 days per week. They train in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, productions and have the opportunity to perform solos upon invitation. Small Groups: Small groups are by invitation only and are determined at JAMM the Intensive. Costumes and competition fees are additional for these classes. Tuition is $300 divided into 9 monthly payments. Small groups will begin in the fall and conclude in the spring. Specific dates will be posted on our calendar following our Intensive week. All Companie Production (ACP): JAMM is producing an all companie production number. All companie members will be performing in the ACP. Tuition is $300 and will be divided into 9 equal monthly payments, September through May. Production practices will take place on alternating Saturdays. Specific dates will be posted on our calendar. Teen and Senior Production (TSP): Companies that are selected to participate in our TSP production will be announced at a later date. Costumes and competition fees are additional. If your dancer s companie is selected, it is not optional to participate. Tuition is $400 and will be divided into 9 monthly payments. Production will begin in the fall and will conclude in the spring. Production will take place on alternating Saturdays. Specific dates will be posted on our calendar following our Intensive week. We will bring in a guest choreographer for this production. Technique Classes: Competition students in the following classes: Shape, Propel, Fluid, Elevate, Edge, & Momentum Co s., are required to register for 1 additional technique class that they attend weekly. See technique box for days/times/teachers. Additional technique class is included in monthly tuition. Students may attend more than one additional technique class a week. Students taking more than one technique class a week will need to purchase a punch card for any additional technique classes not required in their companies monthly tuition. Punch cards are $60 for 10 punches. Tap Extra s: Tap extra s for dancers needing additional Tap technique. Dancer s are welcomed to sign up for this class or a teacher may require it for additional Tap Technique. This class is by punch card only. Punch cards are $60 for 10 punches. NOTE: More information regarding our competitive program i.e. competition dates, make-up, competition fees, conventions, and other important information is published in our yearly edition of The JAMM Competition Handbook. The JAMM Competition Handbook is released the week of the intensive in August. Many of our competitions and conventions do not have their dates published by the time the handbook is published. Therefore, we are not able to provide our competition students this information. As these dates become available they will be posted on our calendar. Dates are subject to change.

There are no refunds for missed classes, or classes canceled due to inclement weather. Classes include one cancelation. Make-up dates will be scheduled after one cancelation.
