9 2016 Fact Sheet Jr Cougar Cheer Our Junior Cougar competitive & sideline cheer teams are for girls (age 5-11) to learn the fundamentals of cheer in a safe, encouraging and fun environment. "We're excited to develop and support the next generation of cheerleaders within the Stoney Creek community. Tricia Williams, SCHS Varsity Cheer Coach REGISTRATION DETAILS $275 registration fee $125 refundable equipment & volunteer deposit Minimum fundraising commitment (per family) OR $250 buyout to opt out of all fundraising activities By The Numbers 5-6 year old girls will participate as "cheer mascots" including a limited practice schedule, sideline cheer at games and a mascot performance at Mega Cheer 7-9 year old girls will participate on the freshman cheer team year old girls will participate on the JV cheer team 3 practice nights per week (2 hour practices) 8 total games (4 home & 4 away) for the season (plus up to 3 play-off games) 1 major competitive cheer event called "Mega Cheer" Cheer uniforms will be provided by SCJC but some optional items may be purchased (warm up outfit, briefs, bodysuit, hair bows, etc)

By The Numbers 7-9 year olds will participate on the freshman football team year olds will participate on the JV football team 8 total games (4 home & 4 away) for the season 3 possible play-off games (including the Super Bowl) 5 practices per week (2 hours each) prior to the first game 4 practices + 1 game per week after the season starts "To be as competitive as possible in today s high school athletics, it s important that we have youth athletes with a basic familiarity of what we re doing at the varsity level.
