3 Technical Regulations The following regulations and procedures MUST be adhered to at all times. Please note that FIG regulations will apply at all Scottish Competitions unless stated otherwise. Health and Safety: The safety of all participants (gymnasts, coaches and officials) is the primary consideration. SG policies will be rigorously applied with regards to health, safety and welfare and child protection. Age Groups Senior gymnasts will compete on the Senior FIG code of points whilst Juniors compete on the Junior FIG or modified code (e.g. British Junior Code). Please check when entering the rules specific to that competition MAG Age Groups Boys (11 & 12) Intermediate (13 & 14) Youth (15 & 16) Junior (17 & 18) Senior (Over 18) Year Born 2007 & & & & & earlier 2018 WAG Age Groups Espoir (12 & 13) Junior (14 &15) Senior (Over 16) Year Born 2006 & & & earlier Apparatus NB: The age in brackets indicates the age a gymnast turns in the year of competition Unless otherwise stated, the equipment at the Scottish Championships will be to current FIG specifications. The equipment provider for this event will be Gymnova. Bar Raise (WAG) Both bars may be raised by 10cm where a gymnast s feet touch the basic matting while she is hanging on high bar or hips touch the basic matting while she is hanging on the low bar. The request for bars to be raised must be made at the time of entry. The bars must be raised in accordance with the F.I.G regulations. Unauthorised raising of the bars will be penalised in accordance with F.I.G regulations. Competition Trophies Recipients of an annual trophy must ensure they are carefully looked after and are properly inscribed, cleaned and returned in time for presentation to the next holder by returning it to the Scottish Gymnastics office at least one week prior to the competition. Returning the trophy on the day of the competition can only be done with the permission of the Competition Organiser. If a trophy is lost or stolen, please inform Scottish Gymnastics immediately. Failure to return a trophy or returning a trophy in a poor condition will result in a charge being made to cover the cost of replacing the original. Disability Apparatus Masters Finals The Disability apparatus masters finals will take place on Sunday 25 th February alongside the MA & WA apparatus finals. Full details are available at the end of this document.

4 Eligibility Gymnast Membership Gymnasts must be silver (competitive gymnast) members of Scottish/British Gymnastics in order to enter. Nationality Please note that only gymnasts who satisfy the Scottish Gymnastics nationality requirements (see HERE) may be awarded any individual ranking, title or medals at the Scottish Championships. Gymnasts who are members of clubs registered with Scottish Gymnastics and training in Scotland who do not fulfil these requirements will still be allowed to enter as a guest. Gymnasts based out with Scotland who do not satisfy Scottish Gymnastics nationality requirements are not permitted to enter unless in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the organisers. Coach Membership Coaches must have Level 2 or above coaching qualification in Men s or Women s Artistic and must have current SG & BG Gold membership. All Coaches are required to hold a current PVG certificate through SG, or Home Nation equivalent, and have current valid Safeguarding training at the time of entry and the event. Coaches who do not fulfil this requirement will not be accredited or allowed to participate at SG Events. Coaching Practice All coaches in attendance at a Scottish Gymnastics event must have undergone appropriate training for skills being competed by their gymnast. It is the responsibility of the club and the coach to ensure that appropriate training has been completed by the nominated coach. The competition organiser (or a nominated representative) has a duty to challenge unsafe practice but the ultimate responsibility on the competition floor is with the coach. In extreme cases, where a coach does not respond to the concerns being expressed, the organisers could stop the gymnast competing and remove the coach from the competition floor. Failure to adhere to these criteria will result in the withdrawal of the gymnast and is likely to negate the coach s Gymnastics Insurance.

5 Entry Processes and Procedures Entry Entry to all SG Events are online only. Complete instructions for adding an entry via the GymNet online Entry Portal are available to download from the BG website. All entries must be fully submitted electronically to SG by the stipulated closing date and time. Late Entries Late entries will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and only up to 7 days after the closing date. In the unlikely event of a late entry being accepted the following penalty structure will be imposed: Late entries received up to 48 hours after the closing date, if accepted, are charged at double entry fee Late entries received after 48 hours after the closing date, if accepted, are charged at triple entry fee Late entry payments will be capped at 1,000 (i.e. the additional payment over and above the normal entry fee per gymnast / partnership / group / team will be capped at 1000). Late entries must be made in writing to the SG Events department and will then be referred to the Organiser for consideration. The Organiser and SG Events department will have absolute discretion whether to accept a late entry. Late entry requests may be placed on a reserve list and clubs notified if their entry is accepted following a withdrawal, up to 1 week prior to the event. Methods of Payment Payment must be made at the time of entry via Debit or Credit Card. Entry fees are non-refundable after the closing date. Withdrawal and Substitutions Amendments to an entry before the closing date will not incur a penalty and in the case of withdrawals, the entry fee will be refunded. Entry fees are non-refundable after the closing date. Where it is necessary to substitute a coach the club must inform the SG Events department, so the coach can be checked for membership, awards, safeguarding and PVG, before they can be accredited for the event. Where, through unforeseen circumstances, this is not possible or, where information has not previously been supplied, the substitute must inform the Organiser immediately on arrival at the venue and produce their coaching and safeguarding award certificate, current SG/BG membership card and a current SG specific PVG certificate (or Home Nation equivalent).
