Meeting called to Order at 8:05 p.m. a. Announcements by President Rob Borsch Jeremy Lewis is stepping down as Girls Director to spend more time with North Metro Girls coaching job. Jeff Allen will be taking over. Will take over Girls U12 effective tonight. 2. Consent Business a. Treasurer s Report - none b. Approval of October minutes c. We donate 66.36% of revenue. Rob Borsch updated that discussions have been had with Maple Tavern and there is potential for charitable gaming at that space. We will have some upfront expenses, but this looks like something we are interested in doing. Maple Grove City Council voted to approve this new venture. Cathy Cheatham waiting on final resolution from the City. State will then issue a Premise Permit. Shooting for Jan 1 start date. All OMGHA Members are encouraged to patronize Maple Tavern along with all our Charitable Gambling partners. Old vendor did offer to let us buy their booth/equipment. Cathy will check to see if what they are proposing is reasonable. Donation Requests I. None Motion by Luke Johnson to approve consent Business. 2 nd by Amy Lee Olson. Vote taken. Passed unanimously. 3. Committee Reports a. District 3 Update- submitted by Jeff Brandt MN Hockey items I. Dave Margenau, MN Hockey President, presented an update on current registration registration is up 5% over last year, for the same time period, and girl s numbers are up 8.5%. II. He also asked that each association make their families aware of the HEP essay contest. Last year there were only 50 entries. Needs to be submitted by 12/5/17. Amy Lee Olson can go on website to get the link. III. MN Hockey reviews re-districting every 2 years. There will be a meeting on December 2 nd to start the process. If any association has input, we need to get that info to the District Director before 12/2.

4 IV. The Sled hockey event is being held at PIC form 11/ This is not a WYHA fund raiser, it is just being held at PIC and they are helping. There are several opportunities for team to volunteer to help. Contact WYHA President for more info. V. Scott Dornfeld brought up the issue that we continue to lose U15 girls each year. Looking for input as to why? D3 Items I. Kendra Verbeten reported she is already getting calls from Mgrs. on how to perform certain tasks. This info was all covered in the Mgr meeting and is in the presentation that was provided to each Manager. Please refer to the information first before making a call. II. The consent to treat form is no longer being used by USA Hockey and is not needed for tournaments. III. Ron Walsh reported there have been several game change requests already. Associations need to do a better job of being prepared when the game scheduling meetings are held. Game change fee has gone up to $200 per game. IV. The ice scheduling software, Max Ice, that most associations use will no longer be supported after 4/30/18. Mark Brandt, Wayzata, is leading the discussion on options. V. SQ & U10 s need to watch the game day rule closely. At many levels, there is only room for 1-3 extra scrimmages due to the number of teams in that level. VI. There was a long discussion regarding having High School students on the ice during practices or skills nights. They can be on the ice a couple times per year without being on a roster and without being registered with USA Hockey. If they are going to participate more than a couple times per year, they need to be registered with USA Hockey and be on a team roster. I would like to review this rule in the off-season and figure out how to more easily have our HS teams involved. VII. Mite teams must have approval to play outside of their home association. VIII. Tournament of champions offered up to us at the Squirt Level. If we are interested, we need to let D3 know. Rob will circle back with Tournament Directors about who will run with that. This would fill in nicely for the Bantam State that we did not get. No deadline for D3 to hear back. We need to run with it if we want it.

5 b. Hockey Updates Boys Traveling- verbally submitted by Kurt Halstrom. II. III. Teams up and running. Lots of success this weekend in tournaments. Bret Caywood reported that tryouts went very well. Handled a C goalie issue very well. Girls Traveling submitted by Chad Weineke Tryouts at all girl s levels are complete, they went well with no significant issues to report, thanks to everyone for their efforts in making this year s tryouts run smoothly We are working with D3 and D10 to schedule district crossover games with D10 at the U12A level The U19 season is underway, the Team Manager/Assistant Coach is working to finalize the roster Next area of focus is to work together with the MG and OPC Girls HS teams on the HDM event on January 20 th Jeremy Lewis is stepping down from his U12 Girls Director role to focus on his head coaching responsibilities at OPC. Jeff Allen is being appointed to fill this vacancy. Thank you to Jeremy for his nearly 5 years on the OMGHA Board and best of luck at OPC in the years to come! House- submitted by Chuck Sawicky Registration is at 546 for House Program likely an all-time high number Seasons have kicked off for all levels (Supermites, U8, Mite 1 & 2, Girl Mites, Mini-Mites) Jerseys have been well received (size/style) thanks to Brian Grant! First coaching clinic is complete (led by Matt Margenau and Vic Nelson) First goalie clinic is complete (led by Aric Stienessen); will have 2 per month Upcoming Events 2 Dec Start of Power Skating Clinic (by level) 17 Dec Santa Skate (all levels)- 4-6:30, Maple Grove Premier. Flyer will be sent soon. 17 Dec Small Area Game Day (U8/SM/M2)

6 IV. Skills and Development- verbally submitted by Luke Johnson Skills started this week with players and goalies. Looking to have U10 girls go in with Squirts at Pro-Hybrid. No feedback yet. This Sunday- PCA players meetings- Triple Impact Competitor meetings, 11/ :45 Squirts and U10s, 7-7:45 Pw and U :45 pm Bantam and U15. Players and Coaches. V. Tournaments- verbally submitted by Rob Borsch. c. OMGHA Partner Updates I. High School Coaches- II. III. d. Administrative Updates Blue Ox this weekend. All went well. All volunteers showed up. Still one U10 A spot open for Cabin Fever, first weekend of February. Note by Amy Lee Olson that Room 147 at MGCC is being booked more by the public, so we need to make sure we book it if we need it. Note by Rob Borsch that MGCC has told us we can use the space between Room 147 and dryland room for storage. OPC--Jeremy Lewis reported that his team will play first game this Tuesday. Team went up to Duluth for a scrimmage festival. Great showing by girls. Great bonding. Arena Mangers no report Marketing / Sponsors- submitted by Laurel Bot Sponsors done for 2017 Branding working with Karl Jaeger to do some branding at both rinks (door wrapping, traditions walls) Little roadblock at MGCC but working through that. Dryland room will be first thing we will notice in MG. In Osseo Kevin Willey will be branding the East rink. We are branding the West rink, locker room and coaches doors. Will also have traditions wall and State Champion wall in lobby. Adam Reiter has all the cost information. Reminder to get Laurel information about teams going to Chips, or tweet themselves!

Can support the Squirt tournament of Champs. Currently have a shortage of positions. Hours for next tournament will go into Dibs in next couple of days. Registration- verbally submitted by Sunny Hamman- see notes. Travel closed except for U19 and Junior Gold House still open 160 new skaters Working on getting coaches rostered- it is working well this year Working with managers on google drive III. Equipment no report IV. Grievances none- but a note that if any directors feel there is something percolating, let Harry Kennedy know. He is willing to get involved. V. Finance verbally submitted by Chuck Sawicky Not doing blinds for West rink for tryouts Still looking at video system. Also netting in MG West - $7K. Frank may do east too. In Osseo East start tinning the walls to replace green wall behind players benches. Splitting cost with the school district. VI. Picture Update- submitted by Amy Lee Olson Pictures will be done by Clix! Dates TBA, but will happen last week in November and first week of December Scheduling will be done by Jill Wente and Amy Lee Olson Pictures will be taken in the MGCC dryland room to allow broader dates Moving to online ordering. Will be delivered to managers via Osseo Coaches room.

8 4. Old Business- none Will set a re-take day May be doing a rebate at the end of the year. Reminder by Rob that old space at MGCC and Osseo where team photos used to hang is gone because of branding effort. 5. New Business - Discussion initiated by Harry Kennedy regarding C teams not being posted when Pee Wee tryout results were posted. Many players and parents were upset. We will not do this again. Rob Borsch made it clear that this will not happen in the future. Amy Lee Olson got a call that locker room parents are not being posted on the website and this needs to happen. If coaches are doing locker room duties, Amy Lee Olson should know about. Concern shared that coaches should NOT be locker room dads. Discussion about D3 requirements and that they are ok with coaches serving as LRDs. Decision to talk about this issue in the Boys and Girls committees and will come back with a policy. Question by Tricia Leafblad to Laurel Bot are we doing the OMGHA directory? It is only being done for House players this year and will be delivered in late December or early January. 6.
