3 Team Village What is the Team Village? The Team Village is the ceterpoit of the Bike MS overight ad a gatherig place for teams ad team members. Each team that chooses to participate ca have their ow tet i the Village for their team members, family members, co-workers ad frieds to ejoy. How it works Teams ca ret tets, tables & chairs through the Natioal MS Society, which are set up for the teams i the Team Village. Teams ca also brig their ow pop up tets if they do t wat to ret. The rest is up to the idividual team. Teams ca get doatios of food, solicit massage therapists, have voluteers set up decoratios ad much more. Read below to fid out more about the advatages of the Team Village! Retig team tets Please see the Team Tet Order Form for your ride for specific pricig ad rules. Advatages Be cetrally located: The Team Village will be the ceterpiece of the Bike MS evet this year, so your team will have easy access to all the ameities. Geerate excitemet aroud your team, your supporters, your compay ad the Bike MS evet. Provide a leadership role to a team voluteer as the Tet Captai who is resposible for Orgaizig a group of voluteers who will choose the theme ad decor; Plaig special perks like great sacks & driks, comfy chairs, your very ow massage therapists ad much more! Ivolve families of team members ad co-workers by havig them voluteer to host the tet. Allow team sposors to be preset i the tet to had out their products, coupo or flyers for their busiess. 4 Our commitmet The Society commits to establishig a great area for the Team Village ad esurig that our tet vedor follows the orders that are placed. Chapter staff ad voluteers will be available throughout the evet at the Team Village to aswer questios ad provide assistace as eeded. Buildig your team village crew I order to esure a successful Team Village tet, the first thig you eed to do is get some help! As a team captai, you are very busy recruitig riders, traiig, ad buildig your team, so buildig the tet is a job to be shared with others! Do you have co-workers, frieds or family that would like to be ivolved, but do t ride? Ask them to take o thse importat voluteer activities. Voluteer Positios Tet Captai: The tet captai is the heart ad soul of a good tet ad their work begis log before the evet, with meetigs of lead voluteers ad orgaizig activities. Overall the captai coordiates all the activities i ad aroud your tet ad the lead voluteers. This perso should be orgaized ad ethusiastic. The best team tet captais are ot cyclists, but those who support your team ad will be available the day of the ride. Voluteer coordiator: Helps the tet captai recruit voluteers for the evet, commuicates voluteer jobs clearly, orgaizes the voluteers o the day of the evet ad provides t-shirts for the voluteers so they are easily idetifiable. Food ad beverage coordiator: Works with your budget to coordiate food ad beverage i the tet. Whether it s family members brigig their grill from home or a catered affair, this voluteer is the go-to perso for all thigs edible! Décor coordiator: The most creative job i the buch! 5 Etertaimet liaiso: Every good party has music! Go all out with a DJ or bad, or just brig a ipod or stereo ad CD s from home. Other etertaimet ideas iclude coordiated games, massage therapists, ad hot tubs. Let the theme guide the ideas. Detail Team: All hads o deck for this job! FOOD & MENU ITEMS The Bike MS evet is a fully supported evet with plety of meals ad rest stops. However, your team may still be hugry at the ed of the day. Pack some food for your team to ejoy while you are hagig out i your tet. Go with your theme: A Hawaiia theme begs for pieapple ad roast pork, while a Wester theme would suggest a barbeque. Sadwich Bar: complete with bus, deli meats ad cheeses, ad all the fixigs. Grill, ayoe? Brig out the grill for some burgers, veggie burgers, brats, etc. (please have a fire extiguisher o had) Sweets! Brig browies, cupcakes, cookies or cady for dessert. Beverages ad ice. Or, take a load off ad have your meals catered! 6 Alcohol Policy While a cold beer might be just the thig to top off a great day of ridig, please uderstad that the servig of alcohol i our Team Village requires everyoe to act resposibly. Please follow these simple but importat policies to esure the safety of all participats ad uderstad your liability as the team host whe providig alcohol. Post sigs that state Proof of age required. Have a meas to check ID. Utilize tickets, wristbads, etc. to cotrol the cosumptio of alcohol. Be prepared to provide trasportatio for ayoe who may be itoxicated ad is travelig offsite. Follow all local regulatios ad laws regardig the distributio of alcohol. Team Village Awards A little competitio is good for the soul! We will be givig our our coveted Spirit of the Ride trophies agai this year. This award is give to the team that demostrates the most team spirit, participates i traiig rides through the summer, ad simply embodies the spirit of Bike MS! Do t forget that we will also give out awards for the Best Team Jerseys ad Best Team Tets at each of our rides. So start desigig ad schemig! For those of you participatig i Tour to Taglewood, this year s theme is Hollywood. Ad we will also be givig out a award for best costume at that ride this year! Good eighbor policy There is limited space i the Team Village, ad we wat to make sure everyoe has a comfortable, fu ad relaxig experiece. We ask that your team please adhere to the followig good eighbor policies. Respect quiet time after the festivities close dow! That meas shuttig dow geerators too. No ope fires (i.e. bofires) are allowed. No ropig off the space aroud your tet. Please keep trash ad other items out of the mai walkways ad thoroughfares. After uloadig, all vehicles eed to retur to the desigated evet parkig area. Uless your tet has a specific, eclosed space for bicycles, please make sure that all team members drop off their bikes at the bike corral. Do ot set up private sleepig tets ext to the team tet.
