STUDIO RULES Respect the building and all the staff, helpers and your fellow dancers Please ANGLE PARK in front of studio.

Please do not block off the back entrance and absolutely NO OUTDOOR SHOES IN THE DANCE STUDIOS!!! Use the provided hooks for jackets and new shelves for all book bags.

2 STUDIO RULES Respect the building and all the staff, helpers and your fellow dancers Please ANGLE PARK in front of studio. DO NOT park in the tenants spots to the LEFT of the front door or at the back! All dancers must enter through the back door to the change area. Place all outdoor shoes on the providedshoe racks. Please do not block off the back entrance and absolutely NO OUTDOOR SHOES IN THE DANCE STUDIOS!!! Use the provided hooks for jackets and new shelves for all book bags. Clean up dressing rooms after eating, playing etc. Do not leave personal items on the floor use your lockers! Proper dance attire must be worn at all times - NO jeans or baggy clothing. Ballet students must have proper bun. No loose jewelry it can be dangerous If waiting for your child please remember it is a QUIET waiting area Students must have a quiet activity during breaks - NO running around or leaving the building please. Please arrive early to the studio so you can get ready and not be LATE!! If you need help please come during office hours or Miss Fenton with your questions or concerns DANCE ATTIRE & HAIR Everyone should have the proper dance attire at this time. PLEASE ensure your dancer is coming to class with their hair properly pulled back into a bun for ballet and at least in a ponytail for all other classes, loose hair is a distraction to the dancer. Children must be showing up to class with their proper dance SHOES and please ensure they are proper fitting (especially TAP SHOES!) It is difficult & distracting to the dancers when their shoes are falling off. ACRO STUDENTS - should come with bare feet, tight fitting clothing (nothing baggy as it is very dangerous) NO JEWELRY and their hair preferable in a braid so it is out of the way. HALLOWEEN Students may dress up in their Halloween costumes for their classes the week of October 27 th 30 th. Please remember that students must be able to safely dance in all of their costumes and they shouldn t inhibit any of their movement especially in the older classes. Birthday Parties If you are looking for a fun idea for your child s next birthday party don t forget about our dance parties. We have many packages available for you to choose from. Go to our website, click on the link for birthday parties and check out all the details. Parties available Saturday 4-7 and also Sundays. Contact the front desk to book your time!!! Keep Updated with TPDS News We are always updating parents and students with information for the studio whether its cancelled classes due to weather, rescheduled classes or special events around the studio. Make sure you are part of of studio Facebook page Turning Pointe Dance Studio Crowsnest and that you check our website turningpointedance.ca regularly for all information. We also have all the newsletters etc posted on the bulletin boards throughout the studio! If you have any further questions don t hesitate to come to the front desk. If you do not have an or access to Facebook let the front desk know and we can print you off a copy. PARENT REPS STILL NEEDED!!!!! We are still in need of parent reps for the following classes: Grade 4A Classes (Jazz F, Lyrical B Tap 6, Hip Hop D, Acro, Jr Pointe) HAPPY TRICK OR TREATIN Senior B (Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical) Your job would include help with phoning, assisting your class on picture day. Students have the chance to attend two different dance workshops in Lethbridge & Calgary and learn combinations in Street Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. If you are interested in attending one of these workshops. Hoodie Orders This year we will be purchasing sample items from the same company we ordered through last year Studio Love so that we will have try on inventory of pants, shorts, hoodies, t-shirts and Pj s. Samples should arrive in the MIDDLE of October and then we will be placing an order shortly after. DANCE FEES, STATEMENTS AND OUTSTANDING ACCOUNTS All post dated cheques must be into the office no later then OCTOBER 1st, Statements will be printed and handed out the third week of classes. We will be sending home your income tax statements at the end of January. Please keep your account up to date. We will be implementing a new administration fee of $25 to all late fee charges for any fees that are over due (accounts, costumes, competition fees, workshops, etc.). We hope everyone understands we truly do not want to have to enforce this matter. ADULT & SESSIONAL CLASSES Adult Barre is Back! 8 week session Oct 4- Nov 26, Sunday & Thursdays 7:00-8:00 pm one class per week - $80 two classes per week - $150 single drop in (space permitting) - $12 Adult Hip Hop Burlesque Style Nov 5- Nov 28, Thursday 8:15-9:00 pm class cost $40 (we need 5 people to run this class) single drop in - $12 Beg Jazz/Hip Hop Combo 9-13 yrs old Oct 16- April 29, Friday 7:15-8:00 pm 1 payment of $ (Oct & April payment) & 5 payments of $57.75 (Nov - March payments) This is class is recreational - students will NOT perform in any competitions nor the Year End Show. Beginner Acro 8-10 yrs - 8 week session Oct 29- December 17, 2015 Thursday 5:45-6:45 pm class cost is $125 Yoga Monday, Wednesdays & Fridays 9:30-10:45 am single drop in - $12 pass of 6 - $72

4 FESTIVAL PRIVATES It is your responsibility to make sure you know your time and day and week of your private. If you cannot make your private YOU must find someone to switch with or you will be billed for the missed lesson. All rescheduling of privates need to be done through MISS CHRISTINA ONLY. All privates schedules will be posted on FACEBOOK. They do tend to change so make sure you are checking frequently to see if your times have moved etc. We require all privates ordering a costume a $ deposit on each costume we will not order your child s costume without it. Costume deposit is due by October 15th, Please see the front desk to make your payment. Don t forget once you start learning your solo, duo, etc it is your responsibility to be practicing at home so you are prepared for your next private having your instructor review instead of using your time to move forward to the next section HAIR AND MAKEUP TUTORIALS We are planning on holding a hair and makeup tutorial for all dancers to teach how to get stage ready!! As soon as we have the dates and time we will let everyone know! This will be a great class for NEW and OLD dancers to the studio!! Hairpieces and Necklaces This year it will be mandatory for all classes from Pre-primary and up to purchase their own diamond necklaces, earrings and hairpieces through the studio for year end show and dance competition. Curly hairpieces for pre-primary to grade 1 and straight all ages higher. We will let you know when we have all the order details ready. This will all be done through the front desk. If you we have all the appropriate ones from last year you will not need to order new ones. USED COSTUME SWAP Thursday Oct 8th We will be holding a used costume swap for any students who are looking for a second hand costume for a solo or duo or maybe even a Halloween costume! If you have any costumes you would like to sell or rent bring them to the studio ASAP labeled with your name and the amount you are wanting to receive. BALLET EXAMS: Exam Dates: June 10 & 11th Classes Doing Exams : Primary s, Grade 1 s, Grade 2 s, Grade 4 s, Grade 7 s?, Intermediates (not everyone), Advanced Foundation Requirements: proper attire, rehearsal schedule, uniform requirements DISNEY DANCE THE MAGIC 2017: Dates: to be announced but sometime early July 2017 Includes : Dance in a Parade down Main Street USA, parade costume and one pair of tights, admission to the Disneyland Resort, Parade rehearsal with Dance the Magic Staff, exclusive backstage access as a GUEST CAST MEMBER, Dance the Magic Parade DVD, Photo Shoot & Individual Photo, Special Dance the Magic Gifts, and a Showcase Performance on stage in the park
