1 Welcome to Cheer Command Rockets Allstar Cheerleading Thank you for your interest in Cheer Command Rockets. At Cheer Command (CCR) we are dedicated to training our Cheerleaders to excel in competition, build self-esteem, promote sportsmanship and develop life long skills, such as leadership and teamwork. This packet contains vital information about our organization including an introduction to our teams, fees, gym rules, practice/competition rules and regulations, and what is expected from our team members and their families. Though our coaching methods are just one of the thousands of different styles, we feel that it is the best way to progress through this highly competitive activity. As you, the parent will soon find out, this is not a recreational hobby. Our squads are strictly competition teams. Cheer Command Rockets take cheerleading to heart. We dedicate ourselves in assuring the success of all of our teams. The squad s primary focus will be to prepare for and compete in local and national competitions. During the course of the year, the squads will focus on all of the components of cheerleading including tumbling, jumps, motions, pyramids, partner stunts, dance, sportsmanship and teamwork. CCR teams attend between 7-10 competitions per season depending on age levels. Several of our competitions are local; however, some teams will travel to 3-4 out of state competitions. Some teams also make public appearances. We are looking forward to an outstanding season. Please help us by following the guidelines set forth in this packet. Thank you and Good Luck! CCR Staff
2 CHEER COMMAND COMMUNICATION We, Cheer Command, feel that communication between the staff, parents and athletes is very important in maintaining a great relationship. We do our best to keep you informed in a timely manner. Information that is important to your athlete may be found on our website or will be posted on team facebooks. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENT AND ATHLETE TO CHECK FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND UPDATES ON THE TEAM FACEBOOK! Loyalty to Cheer Command, Inc. is what will make us even better. Our staff is loyal both to the athlete and to the cause. In return, we see a dedication from our parents also. Loyalty is just one factor that helps us achieve our goals. If at any time you feel that your loyalty to our company diminishes for any reason, please come to the Cheer Command Staff, before you go to other parents or those outside of Cheer Command. This can lead to false information being circulated and does not represent Rockets in the manner that we would like. Furthermore, there will be no credits given for short months (i.e., Summer/Winter Break.) * MONTHLY TEAM FEES ARE BASED ON 12 MONTHS (unless otherwise stated): You can expect to have a small number of practices canceled due to holidays, competitions and rest days following long competitions, inclement weather and gym closing periods. 6 TEAMS Teams are decided based on skills performed at evaluations and stunt groups. (example a base, flyer or backspot) You are placed on teams with expectations that your skills performed at evaluations are maintained. If at any time you lose your skills, we have the option throughout the entire season to adjust teams and move athletes. We understand there are injuries and mind blocks, but athletes must work to regain and maintain to keep their positions. Some athletes may be placed on teams and not have the minimum tumbling for that level, but they bring something else to the team. This includes stunting, dancing, and jumping. Teams are made based on coach s discretion and will not be negotiated. We offer the option of being a double teamer. Double teamers attend all required practices and competitions. The fee for double teamers can be anywhere from $400-$600 depending on competition double teamer fees. Cheer Command coaching TEAM PARENTS will have monthly parent meetings. They will be at your first practice of every month. Early teams will be at the beginning of practices. Later team s meetings will be at the end of practices. When one member is absent, it can keep a whole team from achieving their goals for that practice. The definition of a team is a number of people that are associated together in work or activity; a cooperatively functioning group. We cannot function cooperatively without your attendance and commitment. Please realize this before entering into this contract. Practice will begin the week of May 12th for Minis, Youth, Junior and Senior Teams.
