2 APPLICANTS ON THE WAITING LIST As a reminder to any Club members who have a sponsored applicant on the Waiting List, those individuals need to resubmit an application before December 31 of this year to maintain their place on the list. To date, less than half of the applicants on the Waiting List have resubmitted applications. If an application is not received by December 31, they will be dropped from the Waiting List. JULY TRAP MATCH The Trap match was cancelled due to equipment problems. JULY SKEET MATCH We had 11 shooters turn in some hot scores on a hot day. Here are the results from July 12th match. Thanks. Please pass this information along to any Non-Members who don't get a newsletter & remind fellow BGC members. JULY 5 STAND MATCH We had 12 shooters. Four were guests and eight were BGC members and/or family. We had three classes, therefore three winners, who won $24 each: CLASS A A1. REGGIE HUCKS 41 A2. RON WAIDLICH 40 A3. BEN JONES 38 A4. 4 JULY ACTION PISTOL MATCH (David Isley) We had a good turnout for the July Match and some very good shooting. Ray and Dave got the moving target range operational for this match, it really turned out well. Can't thank those guys enough for all their hard work, as well as the rest of the guys that worked on it when they could. We shot the Mover and the Falling plates, had two junior shooters participate, and even saw some single action revolver shooting. 5 BUCCANEER RANGE REGULATOR GAZETTE Regulator Gazette July 1897 Headline: Bar Room Spitting Contest Interrupted By Gunfight You know how it goes...when cowboys get together they will always be comparing to see who has the longest...gunbarrel...or who can shoot the straightest, or who can throw a knife the best, or something. Well at the Hard Times saloon last month the subject came up on who could spit the straightest. This reporter thinks the subject was brought to the forefront when Doc Clock spit a plug of tobacco at the spittoon and happened to get more tobacco on Blacksmith's boots than he got in the spittoon...the short tempered Black Smith went for his 45 but before he could draw Sheriff Holliday grabbed his gun hand (That Sheriff really has fast reflexes)...the Sheriff calmed the situation by reminding the pair that they both were grown men (there may be some argument on that subject) and surely there was a better way to settle the situation. Well after some discussion a spitting contest was devised. Since tobacco spitting is now included in the Cowboy Olympics over in Tombstone, the Olympic standard distance of meters was decided upon as the correct distance to use for the contest. Doc and Black Smith squared off as the first contestants. Black Smith went first and must have sneezed or something during his windup and his plug went off course and landed square in the middle of Doc Clocks new Stetson hat...well grownups or not, that was the final straw and Doc started blasting with his pistols, rifle and shotgun. As usual Doc didn't hit much and since no one was injured the Sheriff declared Doc the Winner by default... Our new shooters are starting to get in the groove and hitting a lota targets. We had another new shooter try their hand after the match, welcome Dan The Kid. By Dan's 10th round he was already shooting in the 6s & 7s, sounds like a ringer. At the end of our six round no X match Tall Pines Kid was ranked #1 with only one X, followed by Stallion with one X. Eagle won the 1-X last chance match to qualify for the 7th spot in the 2-X Mag 7 Shoot-Off. During the 2-X Mag 7 Shoot- 5

6 Off it was Castaway Cowboy and Stallion in the final round. Stallion took the top spot with no Xs. MEMBERSHIP NOTICE - Annual Dues/NRA/Range Safety Certification:, Each member is required to provide three items back to the Club with their annual dues payment. 1. Check for the correct amount of annual dues and any workday assessment stated on the invoice. 2. Proof of current NRA membership; either a photocopy of your membership card or a mailing label from your NRA magazine showing both your NRA ID number and a non-expired expiration date. 3. A signed Range Safety Certification form. Failure to include any of these items will result in your payment being mailed back to you for inclusion of the correct info. In the event your payment is close to January 31, and you are unable to get the correct payment/info in the hands of the Club by January 31, your name will be dropped from Club rolls, and your membership terminated. ** WHEN YOU USE THE CLUB, PLEASE LEAVE IT IN BETTER SHAPE THAN YOU FOUND IT. ** TAKE YOUR PAPER TARGETS DOWN AFTER YOU USE THEM, DON T LEAVE THEM UP TO GET WET AND BLOWN ALL OVER THE FIELD. ** PICK UP YOUR BRASS AFTER SHOOTING. ** PICK UP YOUR SHOTGUN SHELLS WHEN DONE AND RELOAD THE MACHINES. ** THE ANIMAL-SHAPED STEEL TARGETS ON THE RANGE ARE FOR PISTOL ONLY. DO NOT SHOOT THESE TARGETS WITH A CENTERFIRE RIFLE. DIRECTIONS FOR CALIBER OF PISTOL TO BE USED ON SPECIFIC TARGETS ARE POSTED ON SIGNS AT THE RANGE. 6
