All they know is that it was great; let s do it again! The performance at The Groves on September 13th (photos in the middle), resulted in a panic when three left home without music. Debra jumps in the car, goes home and gets her CDs to include enough for Mary. Rose stops at the friends house on the way and borrows her music. The Ladies of Elegance pull it off once more. And, the show must go on! Dinner in Prescott Cameo Ring Presentation Singing daily for at least ten minutes reduces stress, clears sinuses, improves posture and can even help you live longer.

5 Volume Five Page 5 IN THE SPOTLIGHT A Few Of My Favorite Jeanne Martin July Spotlight The Jeanne Story: In my life time I have shared many great firsts. My mother taught me elegance; my father ethics ; assisting mothers and newborn babies taught me that life is a miracle; marrying my best friend and the blending of our families is the frosting on the cake. I am sharing some of my favorite things: Jim, love of my life; Casper, the other love; and, of course, who doesn t love Elvis. Being MS Senior Arizona has been another highlight of my life. I am proud and excited to represent Arizona in the MS Senior American Pageant later this month. Jean McCurdy August Spotlight Jean is originally from Atlantic City, NJ but lived most of her adult life in New York. Jean was a professional dancer, having studied at Phillip/Forte studio and at Julliard. Jean has taught workshops on Human Relations in Public Schools and in businesses; began the study of yoga in her twenties & taught privately for thirty years. She has always loved singing but only began signing in public as the result of participating in the MS. Senior New York Pageant and was crowned MS Senior New York in Moving to Arizona in 2002, Jean began performing with MS Senior Arizona, as well as numerous shows in her community and also as the female partner in the due Sugar & Spice. For the past six years, Jean has been a board member of the Cameo Foundation, volunteer for the Annual Cameo Ball, Dancing Fashion Show & MS Senior Arizona Pageant as well as performing with the AZ Inspirations which raises money to aid Victims of Domestic Violence. Sharing her love of music & dance is Jean s way of communicating heart to heart. Something that you might not know about Jean is that for PAY (she smiles) she was chosen as a board member & volunteer for Suffolk County Habitat for Humanity and traveled to Chicago to receive the Angel Award from Oprah honoring the students for their work in helping to build houses for families in need. YES, she says, I am a good nail driver! Jean has been married to Bill for fifty seven years; has four children; three grandchildren; and, two great grandchildren.

6 Volume Four Page 6 SPOTLIGHT CONTNUED..from page 5 Peggy Stanley September Spotlight Peggy comes back to our Arizona Cameo Club after leaving in 2003 due to her husband s job opportunity near Thornton, CO. She participated in our 2003 MS Senior Arizona Pageant and received the Best Talent trophy. While in Colorado she became active in the Cameo Club doing 3-4 showcases monthly. In Denver she was encouraged to compete in the MS Senior Colorado Pageant and was crowned MS Senior Colorado in She served as President of the Colorado Cameo Club for two years after her reign and as State Pageant Director for one and half years after that. She also handled scheduling of local parades for three years and served as Vice President. Peggy taught the National Tambourine routine to many of the Colorado ladies (each showcase was concluded with the tambourine routine). She has had the privilege of singing in the Nation Queen s Choir and joining the Tambourines at Nationals in three different years. She has sung in the National Pageant Showcase on five occasions since Peggy loves being back in Arizona, getting acquainted with former Cameo friends and making new Cameo Friends. She participates in as many Showcases as possible and thoroughly enjoyed riding in the Prescott Parade plus all the Cameo activities. Another highlight was singing at the Paradise Valley Macy s fundraiser. Peggy, and husband, Ron, play Pickle Ball 3-4 times weekly at the Marinette Rec Center. She sings with the West Valley Chorale and 130 voice Grace Bible Church Choir. Tap dancing classes were fun during the winter and spring of last year and occasional Karaoke evenings are becoming enjoyable. It is really nice to be part of such a thriving Arizona Cameo Club. I want to give kudos to you who give continually & have carried the torch and to the new ladies who are eager to be involved. It makes for a healthy, hearty and happy club!!! Cameo Newsletter Article/Picture Submission Procedure: The Cameo Newsletter is issued quarterly. In addition to an editor, there are two reporters, Rosie Wehbe (Eastside) and Mary Gray (Westside) and our very own photographer, Vernon Gray. Members may submit information via to either of the aforementioned reporters or to Jean Ingrum at Articles of interest to the membership must be related to the Cameo Foundation, Ms. Senior Arizona Pageant or the Cameo Club. The deadline is by the fifth (5th) of the month of the new quarter. For example: Information for the first quarter newsletter should be turned in by the fifth day of the month of the new quarter. (Quarter ending March 31; information due, April 5th). The newsletter will be sent to the Cameo Sisters by the 10th of the new month. Jean Ingrum, Editor
