I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where I received a BFA in Graphic Design in I have a great passion for Design and the art of successful, efficient work. In the field of Design, I enjoy brand creation, extension, and advancement. Specifically speaking, I have a fanatical intensity and dedication to sports branding. With my work, I try to create the best product possible to better communicate any given idea to an audience and therein create a high level of intrigue and interaction. 8 Knoxville Ice Bears This is a logo I created to help promote the Knoxville Ice Bears professional hockey team. They required a logo to help convey the family-friendly environment of their home games. Featured in the logo is the team mascot, Chilly. Full team coverage can be found at

9 Rocky Top Rowdies In 2008, the University of Tennessee athletic department held a contest to design a t-shirt for the cheering section of basketball games. My design was chosen and worn by students for home games at Thompson-Boling Arena. The shirt continues to be sold at the campus book stores.

10 NBA All-Star Buenos Aires This is a fictional branding for the NBA All-Star game if it were to occur in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This was done as part of an online sports branding contest, which required a primary logo for the event in addition to a game ticket design.

11 NBA All-Star Buenos Aires As an addition to my contest entry, I created these secondary marks for the event. Every NBA All-Star game has many facets of its brand, and I wanted to create a greater depth of realism with the project I created. These marks relate to well-known icons of the Argentina culture.

12 NBA All-Star Buenos Aires For the game ticket component of the project, I wanted to pay homage to important places within the Buenos Aires area, so I consulted with a friend of mine who lives in Argentina so I could get the best opinion and perspective on the culture of the country,

13 Oklahoma City Thunder Among the sports design community, the recently-created Oklahoma City Thunder logo is known as one of the least inspried concepts in all of the NBA. This is my attempt at rebranding the franchise by using cultural influences to better reflect the nickname and city of the team.

14 Oklahoma City Thunder These are secondary marks to go along with the previously displayed primary mark of the franchise. The Thunder Ball on the left is inspired by the state of Oklahoma s flag design, featuring a drum and ornamental feathers from an American Indian ritual.

15 Oklahoma City Thunder These are game uniforms to be worn by the franchise. They further accentuate the aesthetic elements of the previous logotypes.

16 Washington Mystics As part of an interview process for the Washington WNBA team, selected other candidates and myself were asked to create a theme for the 2010 season. Vision of Glory references the clairvoyant nature of a mystic along with the glory of our nation s flag & a WNBA champitonship.

17 Washington Mystics In addition to the 2010 theme for the franchise, I was asked to create a green-friendly logo to be used during the season to promote the team as well as supporting an environmentally-conscious lifestyle.

18 Portland Trail Blazers For a senior class, we were asked to take on a complete rebranding of a company, so I chose the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA. They have had a version of their current logo for nearly thirty years. I wanted to better incorporate the nickname and Portland environment into the identity.

19 Portland Trail Blazers These are the rebranded uniforms, where I retained a sense of the history of their uniforms, yet brought the design into a more modern approach.

22 Staffordshire Resources This was done for a new startup company that deals with staffing solutions and consultations. They wanted a traditional, yet modern feeling appeal to the logotype. I chose to combine the new-age feel of the mark with a traditional, dependable-looking typeface.

23 Entrepreneurs of Knoxville A local organization, Entrepreneurs of Knoxville, held a logo contest to determine their visual identity. I was fortunate enough to win the contest, so the organization has used my variations of the logo to brand its website and other visual components.

24 Entrepreneurs of Knoxville These are the alternate versions of the logo to use wherever different size and position constraints apply.

25 Entrepreneurs of Knoxville These are alternate wordmark versions of the logo to use wherever the full graphic logo cannot be utilized.

26 Chris L. Wilson Tax Service A local businessman needed a mark to help market his income tax service company, so I was happy to oblige. He wanted the mark to be fairly simple and straight-forward and also have a trustworthy approach.

27 Diocese of Knoxville Youth Ministry The local Catholic church diocese needed a logo to represent any kind of youth ministry event for the area, so I created this when I was in a high school organization for the diocese. I wanted to capture a sense of the four subdivisions of the diocese in the East TN area.

28 SEARCH 06 Christian retreat In 2006 and 2007, I was part of the committee to create a visual identity for the SEARCH christian retreat. I created the logo and t-shirt designs and the rest of the team helped to bring the idea across the varying retreat platforms.

29 SEARCH 07 Christian retreat This is the visual identity for the 2007 version of the SEARCH Christian retreat. The process was the same as the previous year.

31 Ice Bears pocket schedule For a year and a half, I worked at the sole graphic design intern for the Knoxville Ice Bears professional hockey team. One of my first assignments was to create the season s pocket schedule. With this, I wanted to capture a sense of the game and aesthetic qualities of hockey.

32 Ice Bears magazine ad Another promotion for the team involved a Travel magazine where people interested in the tourism of the Knoxville area could see what the city had to offer. This piece was done for a certain section of the season, displaying a limited season schedule.

33 Aramark Dining To help promote new additions to a dining hall at the University of Tennessee, I was asked to create these two 8.5x11 flyers. The client explained to me the food involved in the new sections and I was given freedom to name and create the aesthetic of the culinary opportunities.

34 Washington Mystics As part of the Mystics 2010 promotional package I created, this was to be used a full-page magazine or newspaper advertisement.

35 Washington Mystics On the left is a blank 8.5x11 template for any events occuring during the season that would require registration. On the right is an example of the design for season tickets that would feature a different player s picture every game.

36 Scopes Trial postage stamps For a class assignment, we were asked to create a postage stamp plate of a historical subject we were interested in. Being a native of Tennesse and a proponent of the Creationism issue, I created this polarizing piece of work.

37 Face to Facebook For a screenprinting assignment, we were asked to create a public action project. With the growing popularity of Facebook, I felt it necessary public action to comment on the decline of face-to-face communication. I hand printed and handed out around 100 of these cards to my friends.

38 S. Sondheim For a production class assignment, we were given text and images about a commemorative event for Stephen Sondheim s plays taking place booklet at the Kennedy Center in DC. We were then allowed to make any kind of informative booklet that would be given to attendees.
