8 SELF RETRACTING LIFELINES Versatile SRL s are essential whenever a fall can not be prevented. When used properly they can improve user mobility, reduce fall clearance and limit fall arrest forces. During a fall, the shock-absorber will elongate, lowering the impact force on the user and personal fall arrest system. Lanyards are also available in single leg configuration.
