The fllwing plicies are strictly enfrced. 1. T receive a refund, the ACMG TAP ffice must receive ntice f cancellatin by r pst a minimum f 4 weeks befre the curse start. 2. There are n refunds f any kind if yu cancel after the 4 week deadline. 3. The n refund plicy includes persnal injury, illness, medical reasns, family emergency etc. 4. 3 1. Alpine Guide Prgram Alpine Guides specialize in alpine, rck and waterfall ice climbing terrain. The gal f the Alpine Guide certificate exam is t qualify guides t wrk withut supervisin in all types f alpine climbing terrain. A secnd gal is t cntinue the aspirant guide s learning prcess in applying techniques in a wide variety f cnditins. Candidates are expected t cme prepared t demnstrate and be examined n infrmatin cntained in the Technical Handbk fr Prfessinal Muntain Guides and as taught n Guide Training Rck, the Apprentice Rck and Apprentice Alpine Guide exams. The guiding standard requires mvement up t 5.10 in rck shes; 5.8 in muntain bts, alpine ice t 70 degrees and water ice t Grade 4 with cnfident and efficient mvement. The Apprentice Alpine Guide exam and CAA Level 2 fr Avalanche Operatins are prerequisites t the Alpine Guide certificate exam. Candidates must als have cmpleted a 20-day supervised apprenticeship. Apprentice Alpine Guides must wait 1 full year and n mre than 3 years befre attending the Alpine Guide certificate exam. If yu have already cmpleted the Apprentice Alpine Guide exam and are applying t the Alpine Guide certificate exam, prceed with this applicatin package. If yu have nt yet cmpleted the Apprentice Alpine Guide exam, return t the web site and click n `Apprentice Alpine Guide r cntact the ACMG Prgram ffice fr the crrect applicatin package. 2. Ntice t Participants f Prfessinal Guide Training Curses - Increased Risk The ACMG prvides training intended t develp prfessinal skiing, climbing, hiking, rescue, and wilderness travel guides. T train prfessinal guides it is necessary fr students t participate in activities that have higher levels f risk than what may be cnsidered reasnable by entry-level, intermediate, nvice, cmmercial guiding, r recreatinal standards. This may include, but is nt limited t activities such as: lead climbing where the climber places his r her wn prtective equipment, travel and decisin making in avalanche terrain, climbing and rescue in a multi-pitch envirnment, driving prgram vehicles, hiking in unusually rugh and remte terrain, stress frm examinatin and grading prcesses, making rute and hazard assessment decisins n behalf f ther students, unsupervised activities; and cntinuing with an activity when it may nt be cnsidered reasnable by entry- level, intermediate, nvice, cmmercial guiding, r recreatinal standards (fr example, when fatigued, in inclement weather, r in high hazard cnditins). 4 3. Applicatin Infrmatin Prerequisites Required Befre Yu Can Apply Have a current Advanced (80 hr.) First Aid and CPR certificate (Wilderness First Aid is preferred; hwever, OFA 3 will be accepted). CAA Industry Training Prgram Level Tw fr Avalanche Operatins certificate Apprentice Alpine Guide certificate. Yu have been an Apprentice Alpine Guide fr at least ne year. (If it has been mre than 3 years since yur Apprentice Alpine Guide exam, and yu have nt received an extensin frm the ACMG, yu will likely be asked t update yur skills befre attending the Alpine Guide exam. Minimum 20 days dcumented supervised guiding. T Apply Yu Must Submit Applicatin frm Cpy f yur current Advanced Wilderness First Aid. (If yu will be taking yur first aid curse after the applicatin deadline, attach a cnfirmatin f registratin fr the first aid prgram yu are taking this must be cmplete, and cnfirmatin received by ur ffice (cpy f certificate r letter frm the first aid prvider) in advance f the curse date. Yur applicatin plays a significant rle in whether yu will be accepted int the prgram. Prly rganized applicatins r unfrmatted resumes jepardize yur acceptance as yur backgrund, skills and qualificatins may nt be clear and/r may cmpare unfavrably t ther applicatins. 5 Applicatin Deadline Alpine Guide Applicatins must be cmplete and received by the ffice by the applicatin clsing date. Late r incmplete applicatins may nt be accepted. Applicatin deadlines, curse dates and fees can be viewed nline at r cntact the Prgram Office at Dates and fees are updated regularly and may change withut ntice. Ntificatin f Acceptance All applicants will be ntified f acceptance r rejectin. Once accepted, the curse fee becmes due immediately and must be paid in full t cnfirm placement. If accepted and it becmes clear t the instructrs that yu are nt at the standard indicated n yur applicatin, instructrs have the right t remve yu frm further participatin. 4. Sample Frmat fr Climbing Experience Resume A persnal skills resume can be set up in a spreadsheet frmat t mre cnveniently list the types and styles f climbs.
