7 CLOSING DEADLINE for ENTRY IS Saturday April 1, 2017 Knights Of Columbus 2017 Florida State Bowling Tournament Tournament Rules and Regulations Tournament to be held at: Brunswick Zone Harbour Lanes 1099 N Wickham RdMelbourne, FL SINGLES & DOUBLES Saturday, April 22, PERSON TEAM Sunday, April 23, Eligibility Tournament is open to any Knights of Columbus member in good standing and their wives, girlfriends, and the men must be members of the KofC to bowl. NO one under the age of 18 year is permitted to bowl. Presentation of current travelers card and USBC sanction card. A non sanction bowler will not qualify for USBC awards. If you wish to be eligible for USBC awards. You may pay the cost of a USBC membership card. 3. Averages & Handicap Handicap is based on 90% of 220. Entering averages are based upon yearbook average, or current average of 21 games or more. Current average of 21 or more games as of 12:01 AM, January 1, 2017 must be provided in order to be used. If the January 1, 2017 average is 10 or more pins higher than the bowler s average, then the bowler must use the current average. If an entrant does not have a 21 game average by January 1, 2017 and the entrant does not have 21 games by closing date, the men Bowlers without an established average will enter at 145 and for woman it will be 130. if the bowler averages more than 170 after 3, 6 or 9 games. It will be change to 170 after the tournament. No average adjustment at time of checkin. Unless verification by means of current yearbook (201617) from the association of which bowler is a member. If you are in a Church league, you must bring your League Standing sheet. 3a. Each bowler is responsible for verifying their own average to avoid disqualification you must follow USBC (rule319a3) 4. The ten pin rule is in effect per USBC rule (319a2) 5. Format Four man team format of any combination: Four men Three men and One woman or Two men and Two woman 3 game singles and 3 game doubles for a total of 6games across 2 lanes you do not move. You are allowed to bowl more that once but not with the same team or partner. Checkin one hour prior to schedule of bowling. 6. 8 7. Prizes A prize fund will be posted prior to the start the tournament. USBC Rule 308 is in effect. There will be a separate fund for each Division, based upon the number pf entries in that Division. The disbursement of funds in accordance with Knights of Columbus requirements (sec.139 and sec 140) Monetary prizes to be paid by checks drawn upon the fund disbursement report produced by the tournament director as of April 24, Prizes (monies trophies to be awarded at the Annual Florida State Councils Convention in May in 2017) 8. USBC (rule 319b and 319e) is not in effect 9. THE MANAGING BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE TOURNAMENT. 9 General rules 1. DIVISIONS: Mixed Only. Mixed Division: open to any KofC member in good standing, a spouse, dependent or significant other, who shall have attained at least the age of 18. All males must be KofC members in good standing. You must pay the USBC membership fee to be eligible for USBC awards. 2. CHECKIN: Bowlers must report to the tournament desk one hour prior to bowling. All males must show their current KofC membership cards. USBC members must show their current USBC membership cards. 3. FORMAT: Four person team: 3 games; Singles: 3 games; Doubles: 3 games. Singles and doubles total 6 games across 2 lanes; you do not move. You are allowed to bowl more than once but not with the same team or partner. 1. COST: Entry Fees, per bowler : Team $30.00 Singles $15.00 Doubles $15.00 All Events $3.00 (optional) KofC Association Fee $ 2.00 Total Entry Fee $65.00 Note: ALL entries AND fees MUST be in possession of the Tournament Director by April NO EXCEPTIONS. 2. 10 Mixed Division Rules. 1. TEAM AND DOUBLES FORMAT. Team Format: Four persons of the following combinations Four men; three men and one woman; two men and two women. Doubles format: Two persons of the following combinations Two men; one man and one woman. 2. AVERAGE DETERMINATION (In descending order of acceptance): a Highest Yearbook Average (Subject to 10 pin rule). USBC website verification. b Highest Current Season Average, ON January 1, USBC website verification. c Highest Current 21 game average, attained after January 1 st, 2017 and before entry closing date. League Secretary verification. Tournament Director s Approval. d Highest Yearbook Average (Subject to 10 pin rule). USBC Website verification. Tournament Director s Approval. e church league or nonusbc sanctioned league 21 game average proved by latest league standing sheet. f. Highest KofC Bowling Tournament average from previous KofC tournaments. g. Male bowlers without an established average will enter at 145, and female bowlers without an established average will enter at 130. If the bowler averages more than 170 after 3, 6 or 9 games, the average will be changed to 170 after the tournament.
