2 Objectives of BADS Bowling Association for the Disabled (Singapore) (BADS) is an association registered with the Registry of Societies in April 2010 and is affiliated with the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC). BADS is set up with a main objective of bringing bowling to all disabled persons in Singapore. We organize and coordinate all bowling activities which will eventually lead to the selection and training of an elite team to represent Singapore in international competitions. Page 2 of 5

3 Review of Events The 4th AGM was held on 28th June 2014, 10am to 12noon, followed by a Fun Bowl session at the NSRCC. Christopher was appointed as Treasurer in October Here is a list of the activities BADS had organised or participated in: 1) 4 Jan - Mar 2014 Learn-To-Bowl (LTB) learning sessions for new bowling aspirants 13 students were enrolled with the LTB program. 11 who graduated from the LTB were promoted to the Development Team. 2) 22 Feb 2014 SDSC Flag Day Several BADS members volunteered for this SDSC Flag Day. 3) 5 Mar 2014 BOWLinks at National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC) 7 Teams respectively represented BADS. BADS won Champion, and 2nd Runners Up. 4) 29 Mar 2014 BADS Challenge at Planet Bowl, sponsored by Mr Bob Tan. 64 BADS members participated. There were 10 categories - TPB1, TPB2, TPB3, TPB4, TPB8, TPB9, TPB10, TPB11, TPB12, TPB Open. 5) 7 May 2014 BOWLinks at National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC) 8 Teams respectively represented BADS. BADS won Champion, and 2nd Runners Up. 6) 18 May May st APTBF Championships, Bangkok 6 BADS members represented Singapore. Doubles TPB8 + TPB8 - Anuar and Kalvin Tay won Bronze for Singapore. 7) 29 June 2014 BADS AGM & Fun Bowl BADS members were present and participated in the BADS AGM & Fun Bowl ) 2 Jul Teams represented BADS. BADS won Champion, 1st Runners Up and 2nd Runners Up. 9) 7 Aug 2014 SDSC Charity Movie Shaw Theatres Lido Severa; BADS members supported the SDSC Charity Movie ) 25 Aug - 31 Aug 2014 Incheon Asian Para Games Training Camp South Korea, Suwon 6 Bowlers who represented Singapore for the 2014 Incheon Asian Para Games participated in this training camp. The trainings were conducted at the Suwon Life Sports Centre, and included teams from South Korea and Hong Kong. Page 3 of 5

4 11) 30 Aug 2014 BADS Charity Bowl National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC) 64 bowlers forming 16 teams participated in the BADS Charity Bowl ) 1 Sep 2014 Team Singapore Flag Presentation for 2014 Asian Games & Asian Para Games - Sports Hub BADS President and Team Singapore Para bowlers were present for the Flag Presentation ceremony by Mr. Tan Chuan Jin, President, Singapore Olympic Council. 13) 3 Sep Teams represented BADS. Won Champion, 1st Runners Up and 2nd Runners Up. 14) 7 Sep 14 Dec 2014 BADS League 2014 Planet Bowl 21 BADS members participated in the BADS League ) 20 Sep 2014 National Disability League 2013 Bowling (Physical Disabled Singles) - Planet Bowl, Singapore 44 Bowlers participated. There were 8 categories - TPB1, TPB2, TPB3, TPB8, TPB9, TPB10, and TPB12. 16) 14 Oct 25 Oct 2014 Asian Para Games South Korea, Incheon 7 Team Singapore Para bowlers participated in the 2014 Asian Para Games. Congratulations to our bowlers for the 2 Bronze medals. Doubles TPB8 + TPB8: Anuar & Kalvin Tay Bronze Trios TPB8 + TPB2/3 + TPB2/3: Anuar, Ismail & Robert Ong Bronze 17) 5 Nov Teams represented BADS. Won Champion, 1st Runners Up and 2nd Runners Up. 18) 14 Nov - 16 Nov th Singapore National Bowling Championship Orchid Country Club (OCC) 3 Teams represented BADS and we came up with the following achievements: Singles - BADS came in 1 st Runners Up Doubles - BADS came in Champions & 1 st Runners Up Trios - BADS came in 1 st Runners Up & 2 nd Runners Up All Events BADS came in 1 st Runners Up. 19) 15 Nov 2014 National Disability League 2014 Bowling (Intellectual Disabled Singles) - Planet Bowl 51 Bowlers participated. There were 4 categories - Boys 16 & below, Girls 16 & below, Boys 17 & above, Girls 17 & above. 20) 15 Nov 2014 Purple Parade 2014 Hong Lim Park BADS members participated in the Purple Parade ) 30 Nov 2014 SDSC Reindeer Walk-a-Wheelathon 2014 & in conjunction with countdown to 8th ASEAN Para Games Sports Hub Page 4 of 5

5 Plans & Goals for 2015 We look forward to Year 2015 to be another great year although many challenges lie ahead of us. To mention a few of these challenges: a. To create an conducive environment for instilling pride, discipline & confidence in the competitive bowlers b. To prepare the competitive bowlers for Asean Para SEA Games. c. To foster partnership with corporate companies in order to publicize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & awareness of BADS mission & goals For year 2015 besides the staple activities such as Open houses, LTB programs, Leagues & NDLs, BADS has planned for a Charity Bowl with the sole purpose of raising funds for the Association.
