Scott Williams leads the 25-year and 20-year lists in games bowled. Scott had perfect attendance again this year, giving him a total of only seven missed nights of bowling the last twenty seasons and twelve missed nights in the last twenty-five years. He has had perfect attendance in nineteen of the twenty-six years he has bowled in the Commercial League. Dave Chittum had another season with perfect attendance and leads the 15-year and 10-year lists in games bowled and shares the lead on the 5-year list with four other bowlers. Those same two teams also faced each other in last year s title match, the first time the same two teams have faced each other in the championship match in consecutive years going back for the thirty-three years that I have Commercial League records. The very dry lane conditions saw the final week s league average come in at a mere Allen Walker s 729 series was the high set in a week that had a total of six 700s. The other 700s were rolled by Chris Chittum (716), Mike Manolis (707), Joey Havens (704), Jeff Lee (702) and Scott Milstead (700). Three bowlers share the week 35 high game scratch honors with 279 games (Jeff Lee, Mike Manolis and Scott Milstead). Chris Chittum s 716 series was 83 pins over his average to earn Chris star-of-the-week honors. Mike Manolis (707) finished the season with the high average of Glenn MacCullough (615) finished with second high average at Allen Walker (729) sewed up third-high average at and Joey Havens (704) ended up fourth with Andrew Blackmore (603) finished with fifth high average at Chris Chittum swept his points to win the individual points won category with a total of 82.5 points won. Scott Williams and Scott Milstead ended up tied for second in that category with 80 points won. Mike Manolis finished fourth in individual points won with a total of 79 points won. The final week s divisional position round matches saw team # 8, Tucking Fenpins, moved up to a third-place finish in A after winning twenty-five points from team # 2, SW Contracting. In B, team #17 was locked into a third place finish but team #11, VAJJ, moved up to fourth place by virtue of their 27-5 win over team #15, Wild Turkeys 2.0. Team # 7, Starmakers, had the top team series handicap score in week 35 with a 2949 total (Don Freeman 688, Jason Arnold 637 and Scott Arnold 619). FOUR-IN-A-ROW 600+ CLUB Mike Manolis (707) finished the season with his 22nd series over 700 and thirtytwo 600+s in a row. Glenn MacCullough (615) ended up with twenty-nine-in-a-row and Andrew Blackmore (603) ended on twenty-in-a-row. Team #11, VAJJ, did it in week 3 versus the vacant team. That is only the fifth time that a team has gone 32-0 in the eleven seasons we ve been using the 32-point format. There were seven times this year when teams got close by going 31-1, with five of those being accomplished versus a vacant team. The two times it was done while bowling an opponent was in week 21 by team #17 against team #16, Over The hill Gang, and in week 33 when team #12, Drunk Monkeys, beat up on team #15, Wild Turkets 2.0. Winning 28 or more points in a match is also no easy task as it was done only 65 times in the 344 matches that took place. Mike Manolis had the highest consecutive 600+ string as he ended the year with a string of thirty-two-in-a-row. Twenty-seven bowlers made it to the club more than once. Chris Chittum and Don Freeman made it into the club on four different occasions this season and nine different bowlers joined the club three times. Mike Manolis and Andrew Blackmore spent the most combined weeks in the four-in-a-row club with 32 weeks. Mike s total was a result of his one long string while Andrew had two strings of six-in-a-row and another for twenty-in-a-row for his combined total of 32.
