1 Annual Bryan Burr Memorial High School Bowling Tournament hosted by: Mel s Lone Star Lanes Georgetown, Texas Saturday, November 16th, 2013 This tournament is open to all High School teams, and strictly limited to 14 schools / 28 teams Format: Qualifying Round: All teams will bowl three regular games on the same pair, preassigned lanes. Based on total pinfall for the 3 games, all 14 teams will be seeded 1-14, and the top 2 seeds will get a bye in the 1 st match of the championship round. All ties for position will be broken by a frame-by-frame roll off by ONE selected individual from each team, due to time. Championship Round: The format will be a single elimination, best of 3 Baker game match play. Seeds 3-14 will bowl and the 6 winners from that match will advance to the 2 nd round. Those 6 winners will join seeds 1 & 2 and the 8 teams will compete in a single elimination, best of 3 Baker game match play format until the winner is determined. School Trophies for Tournament Champion, 1st & 2nd Runners-up Gold, Silver & Bronze Individual Medals for: Champion, 1st and 2nd Runner-up teams Medals also awarded for: Team High Game, Boys High Baker Game, Girls High Baker Game, Boys High Game & Girls High Game Cost is $100 per Team (cost per school is $200, assuming the school sends 1 Boys team & 1 Girls team) Coaches Hospitality provided First Tournament of the year come compete against teams from across the state! 2 Rules: 1. The Bryan Burr Memorial High School Bowling Tournament is open to all schools with a competitive High School Bowling Program recognized by Texas High School Bowling Club. This Tournament is strictly limited to the first 14 schools / 28 teams that register and remit payment in full. 2. This Tournament is for Varsity teams only. Each school is permitted to field two (2) teams a Boys and a Girls, with a maximum of 8 members on each team. 3. Appropriate attire required for participation. Teams must wear their school uniformed shirts and slacks/pants. No blue jeans or sweat pants allowed. 4. The Texas High School Bowling Club Competition Rules will apply as applicable. 5. Teams should arrive 1 hour prior to the start of competition. Every effort will be made to accommodate late arrivals, subject to the best interests of the tournament and the other schools participating. However, the tournament director will have the final decision regarding participation of late arrivals. 6. Good sportsmanship and good citizenship are fundamental to any high school athletic event. Any student-athlete, team member or Coach observed displaying unsportsmanlike conduct will be removed from this event. There will be no warnings. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes but is not limited to: inappropriate or offensive language, taunting or trash-talk, hitting, abusing or damaging any equipment such as ball returns, score monitors, etc., any display of anger or aggression (whether directed at another or not), physical or verbal confrontations, and repeated violations of lane etiquette. 7. Lanes and bowling equipment shall be in accordance with and compliance with USBC specifications. 8. Each participant will be required to complete a Texas High School Bowling Club Consent and Release of Liability prior to competing. 9. Score corrections are to be made by the Tournament Director or designated lane monitor only. Scoring errors must be reported to the designated lane monitor immediately. No score corrections will be allowed after the end of the following frame. By participating in the Bryan Burr Memorial High School Bowling Tournament you agree to the following: 1. Your image may be captured in still or video format and may be used for media or historical accounting of this event and/or for promotional purposes. 2. You agree that participation is at your own risk and you waive any and all claims against Mel s Lone Star Lanes, its employees and/or representatives, the tournament director and/or any person associated with this event. As the head coach of this school s Bowling Program I understand, acknowledge, and agree to the following: - that my team is expected to arrive not later than 1 hour before the scheduled start of the event and that if we arrive late we may or may not be allowed to participate, based on the best interests of the event. - that by submitting this registration and the $ registration fee per team, I certify that the student-athletes listed on this form are currently enrolled students of the school listed and are eligible to participate in this event. - I further understand that using ineligible bowlers may result in my school being disqualified from this event and prohibited from participating in this event in the future. - that my team is to arrive in their school uniform shirts and slacks/pants, and that blue jeans, sweat pants and/or any clothing deemed inappropriate or offensive by the Tournament Director is not allowed. - that unsportsmanlike conduct by a student-athlete, team member or coach will not be tolerated and that any person displaying unsportsmanlike conduct will be removed from the event with no refund being given. - that I have read and am familiar with and agree to the Rules governing this event.
