1 1 CTF CONNECTION Published by the Canadian Tenpin Federation, Inc. Fédération Canadienne des Dix-Quilles, Inc. December 2007 FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CTF President Cathy Innes is pleased to annouce the election of two new Executive positions. Congratulations to Joe Nunes elected as 1st Vice President and to John McLean as 2 nd Vice President. The Board of Directors approved an amendment to the National Bylaws to allow for a 1st & 2 nd Vice President as Officers of the board. Membership Cards To date, we have processed 62% of our membership cards, based on last year's numbers. We have not received a database or membership dues from over 15 of our local associations. This delay has serious ramifications to our members that belong to these associations. Some of these repercussions could be: 1. Loss of bonding and insurance coverage for the league(s). 2. Non-eligibility for special achievement awards. 3. Denial or delay in processing of Honour Score Awards. 4. Denial of entry into CTF sanctioned tournaments. CTF's National Policy is that leagues must submit membership applications and dues to the local association within 30 days of receiving them. The local association has 30 days after receiving the applications and dues to forward a copy of the league sanction form, national dues and the PBM database to the CTF National Office. For many leagues and associations, the first 30 day period would have expired on or around the first week in October and the second 30 day period would have expired around the first week in November (assuming that the leagues started the week of Labour Day). Our turnaround time on cards is approximately 7-10 days and in some cases, less than that. If you have not received your membership card contact your League Secretary, Local Association Manger or CTF National Offices as soon as possible. To those associations who have already submitted databases, league sanction forms and membership dues, we thank you for your promptness. Centre Certification Applications On another note, we have only certified 1/3 of the bowling centres that were certified last season. Please have your Centre Certification committees forward the completed Centre Certification Applications to the CTF National Office at their earliest possible convenience. If a bowling centre isn't certified, it may delay processing of Honour Score Awards and tournament sanctioning. To those associations who have submitted Centre Certification Applications for your association, THANK YOU!!! Honour Score Awards Our honour score award supplier has advised us that due to the rising cost of gold, the prices for our gold upgrades have increased by 10%. Therefore, effective November 15, 2007, the cost for all gold upgrades will be increased by 10%. The new prices are reflected in the Honour Score Upgrade Form on the website under the Forms Tab. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Respectfully Submited Stan May CTF Executive Director CANADA S SCMIDT FINISHES 4 TH AT 43 TH BOWLING WORLD CUP Canada s Michael Schmidt of Winnipeg, Manitoba finished fourth at the 43rd Annual Quibica/AMF Bowling World Cup which took place in St. Petersburg, Russia November 3-11, Schmidt lost in the position round to Andres Gomez of Colombia for the third step-ladder position in the TV final.
