CONDITIONS OF PLAY Effective from 01 January CHAMPIONSHIPS - Ladies' Section Event Duration Open To: A Singles 25 shots Female Senior & Junior Members Pairs 21 ends Female Senior & Junior Members Triples (2 bowls) 25 ends Female Senior & Junior Members Fours 21 ends Female Senior & Junior Members Lyell Torch 25 shots Female Senior & Junior Members B Singles who have not won an A, B or open Singles Championship at this or any other Club C Singles 25 shots Senior & Junior Members who have not previously won an A, B, C or Open Singles Championship at this or any other Club Handicap Pairs 21 ends Senior & Junior Female Members. Handicaps will be allocated by the Match Committee on a scale of (This figure may be changed depending on the number of Lady Members) Teams must contain at least 1 member graded Teams can consist of 2 Members graded 8 14 and they will play off their combined handicap or 20, whichever is the lower. Consistency Singles 100 up Female Senior & Junior Members Jindalee Star 25 shots Female Senior & Junior Members Novice Singles who have had less than 5 years cumulative Membership at this or any other Club (as at closing date of Nominations) & have also not won any Championship Singles event. 2

Handicaps will be allocated by the Match Committee on a scale of (This number may change depending on the number of Male members) Teams must contain 1 Member graded Teams may consist of 2 Members graded 9 16 and they will play off their combined handicap or 20, whichever is the lower. 3

4 2. LAWS TO APPLY TO BOTH SECTIONS These competitions shall be played according to Laws of The Sport of Bowls (including domestic regulations for Australia), (Crystal Mark Edition), as amended from time to time and these conditions shall apply unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee in relation to a particular event. All club arranged competitions are played under Domestic regulations for Australia. 3. CONTROL OF GAMES The Controlling Body shall have full control of all Championship Events. The Controlling Body for JBC Inc. is the Management Committee. Day to day control is delegated to the Sections Match Committee who will be represented on Competition days by the Umpire of the day and/or the Games Controller. At the discretion of the Games Director, competitions may be cancelled where there are insufficient players to warrant a competition played. 4. ELIGIBILITY A Player shall be financial as at close of nominations and must remain financial for the duration of the event; notwithstanding the provisions of clause 37 (b) (v) in Club Constitution. Players called to play in any championship event during the 1 month period of grace must pay their membership dues prior to their participation in such game. Failure to do so will result in their forfeiture from the competition. 5. NOMINATIONS Nominations shall be called by and close with the Games Director in accordance with advice given on the Notice Board. Skips in Team Events will be responsible for the lodgement of nominations for their teams. A minimum of 2 weeks notice will be given for each event. 6. ENTRY FEE An entry fee of $5.00 per Player, or as otherwise determined by the Management Committee, shall apply for all championships. The entry fee shall be paid at the time of lodgement of the entry form. Failure to pay entry fee within the time specified will render nomination invalid. 7. SCHEDULING OF GAMES (A).Games will be called on a Play, Substitute or Forfeit basis and no team or competitor will be exempted from play due to the absence of a member. Consideration shall be given to players in exceptional circumstances. No semi or final game will be delayed for more than two weeks. 4

5 (B) Games shall be called with a minimum of 1 week notice placed on the relevant Section Notice Board. (Advice may be given up to 6pm on the first day such notice is required). (C) The Games Director may call off a scheduled game; Six days notice shall be given to recall a postponed game unless all Competitors are present on a subsequent date wherein Games Director may schedule such game without prior notice. (D).Scheduled games, including Semi and Finals may be played on or before the scheduled date by mutual agreement between the players and subject to the approval of the Games Director. Under unusual circumstances, the Games Director may call games on other than the usual playing days for the respective section. (E) Where competition games are called on a day when a tea break would normally be taken, then such tea break will be taken on the run or at the conclusion of the game unless otherwise agreed by all Players prior to commencement of the game. (F) Team Skips are responsible for ensuring that all members of their respective teams are aware of playing dates for the team. (G) Should a Member be called for or be entered in a Bowls Australia, Bowls Queensland or Cunningham District Competition or be called for any official duty on the same day as a nationally recognised championship game has been scheduled, such Member will notify the Games Director as soon as possible. The Latter will endeavour to reschedule game vide Clause 7 (C) herein. Championships, Tournaments or matches at another Club or District do not qualify for rescheduling under this Condition. 8. SUBSTITUTES (A) Substitutes are allowed as per Bowls Australia Laws provided that any Substitute or Replacement Player meets eligibility criteria as outlined in these Conditions of Play, Clause 4. Team Skip must advise name of Substitute to Controlling Body for approval prior to commencement of the game. (B) Substitutes in handicap pairs will play off their own handicap or that of the Player being replaced, whichever is the lower handicap. 5

6 9. FORFEITS (A) Where the Games Director has received at least 2 hours notice before the scheduled starting time that a team, or competitor in singles, is unable to attend for any reason, he/she may inform the opposition team or player that they have received a forfeit and are not required to attend at start of play to claim the forfeit. (B) In all other circumstances, a team, or competitor in singles, who is not present to commence play within 30 minutes of the scheduled starting time shall have a forfeit awarded against them by the Umpire of the day or Controlling Body. 10. ROLL UPS AND PRACTICE (A) Roll up and practice is allowed in accordance with the laws of the game and as modified by these conditions. Where a game is scheduled for the afternoon and greens are available, practice is allowed but must cease by the earlier of 12 noon or 1 hour prior to scheduled start of play. Practice is not allowed for morning or subsequent games scheduled on the same day. (B) A maximum of 2 trial ends may be taken during the period 30 minutes to 5 minutes prior to scheduled start of play. 11. ATTIRE Players are required to be correctly attired vide Bowls Queensland Attire Bylaw 14; specifically excluded is attire from other Clubs and Districts. Players are encouraged to wear the current Club uniform. Players will not be permitted to play if incorrectly attired, unless the Games Director or Controlling Body is of the opinion that reasonable circumstances exist which prevent the Player from being correctly attired. 12. SCOREBOARDS AND SCORECARDS (A) Scorecards are to be maintained as per Bowls Australia Laws and handed to Games Director or his/her Nominee on completion of the game. (B) Scoreboards will be maintained in alphabetical order of the surnames of Skips or Players in singles. 13. LIGHTS Use of lights is at the Umpires discretion if he/she considers them necessary to complete a game, either by his/her own observation or in the event that an appeal has been lodged by any Player. 14. MARKERS In Singles competition, it is the Players responsibility to arrange Markers. Defeated Players are, under the etiquette of bowls, expected to make themselves available to mark in the subsequent round. Markers are expected to be attired as per Clause 11 unless approved otherwise by the Games Director or his/her Nominee. 6

7 15. MOBILE PHONES Mobile phones are not permitted on the green and must be switched off during competition. Emergency Services Personnel will be exempted from this condition under advice to the Umpire of the day. 16. UMPIRES The Games Director will inform the Umpires Coordinator of scheduled events to enable allocation of duties. In the event that an accredited Umpire is not available, the Games Director will appoint a suitably competent person to act as Umpire. 17. WEATHER POLICY Games will not commence if the temperature is 37 degrees or above. A one hour delay will be allowed to ascertain if the temperature will fall below 37 degrees. If it does not, play will be abandoned and the game will be rescheduled. If the temperature reaches 35 degrees, any player can take a 10 minute break every 30 minutes. If the temperature reaches 35 degrees and the humidity is over 50%, extreme care must be exercised. If atmospheric conditions produce possible dangerous weather conditions, the Controlling Body should assess if it is safe to continue. In the event that there is no Controlling Body, the senior committee member present can make the decision. Temperature must be measured in the shade with good air flow around the thermometer which should be placed 1.5 metre above the ground. 18. TROPHIES. The Management Committee will, at its absolute discretion, determine what trophies or prizes will be offered for these events. 19. DISPUTES Any complaints or disputes arising from these events will be referred to the Disputes Sub Committee for resolution as outlined in the Club s By Laws. 7
