The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers, acknowledging the important role that these partners play in providing facilities for community cricket

2 FUND OVERVIEW Cricket Australia, in partnership with State and Territory Cricket Associations, is committed to developing high quality facilities that provide a welcoming environment for all participants, officials, volunteers and fans. The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting accessibility and inclusivity. The ACIF will contribute more than $4.6 million per annum into community facility projects, representing Cricket s largest ever commitment to infrastructure funding. The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers, acknowledging the important role that these partners play in providing facilities for community cricket across Australia. The ACIF, launched in August 2018, replaces the National Community Facility Funding Scheme. OBJECTIVES The objectives of the ACIF are to: Improve the quantity, quality, innovation and consistency of cricket infrastructure across all levels of community cricket Support the development of community cricket facilities that contribute to the delivery of Australian Cricket s strategic priorities Support cricket facility development in areas of demand, particularly areas of significant participation and population growth Create inclusive and accessible environments for cricket participants and the broader community Collaborate with all levels of government and funding partners to invest in strategic infrastructure priorities 2 I ACIF GUIDELINES ACIF GUIDELINES I 3

FUNDING CATEGORIES The ACIF provides funding in the following two categories: Category Funding Amount 1 Types of Projects Maximum Grant Amount 2 Community Cricket Infrastructure Grants - Minor

New practice facilities, significant oval upgrades, sportslighting, change facility/pavilion upgrade, major refurbishments 1.

Projects seeking less than the maximum grant amount will be highly regarded Up to 50% of the total project cost Applications for more than $50,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis under the

3 FUNDING CATEGORIES The ACIF provides funding in the following two categories: Category Funding Amount 1 Types of Projects Maximum Grant Amount 2 Community Cricket Infrastructure Grants - Minor Community Cricket Infrastructure Grants - Major $1,000 - $10,000 Pitches, practice facility refurbishment, minor change facility/pavilion refurbishment, supporting infrastructure $10,001 - $50,000 New practice facilities, significant oval upgrades, sportslighting, change facility/pavilion upgrade, major refurbishments 1. Australian Cricket reserves the right to propose an amended funding amount based on the proposed outcomes of the project and available funding 2. Projects seeking less than the maximum grant amount will be highly regarded Up to 50% of the total project cost Applications for more than $50,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis under the Strategic Cricket Infrastructure Funding category. In addition to aligning to the funding conditions below, projects under this category will generally be multi-faceted and provide a broad regional benefit for cricket. Contact the State Infrastructure Manager in your state or territory to discuss any proposals for Strategic Cricket Infrastructure Funding. WHAT WILL/WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR FUNDING The ACIF focuses on infrastructure that is vital to growing participation in cricket and providing participants with a quality, safe and welcoming environment. The table below provides an overview of the types of projects that will and will not be considered for funding: The following are considered for funding The following are NOT considered for funding Ovals, including pitches (turf and synthetic) Change facilities (players and umpires) Amenities that support participation Projects that have already commenced construction Routine maintenance works and/or maintenance equipment eg. rollers, mowers Projects do not focus primarily on community cricket Facilities that have been previously funded (unless delivering a new facility component) Practice facilities Pavilions and clubrooms Lighting Sporting equipment eg. temporary nets, stumps, covers Temporary facilities eg. temporary shade, temporary storage Projects where works can be covered by insurance Facilities with no/limited public access FUNDING CONDITIONS Projects submitted to the ACIF must meet the following conditions. Applications must relate to permanent facility development or upgrade projects. Equipment, temporary facilities and/or planning projects are not eligible for funding. Retrospective proposals will not be supported (i.e. projects that have commenced). Projects submitted by clubs/organisations with the following will be highly regarded and prioritised: Female teams and participation programs Embedded Australian Cricket Junior Pathway: Woolworths Cricket Blast Program Junior cricket stages 1-3 Online registration for its members through PlayCricket Compliance with Australian Cricket s Child Safety Framework Projects must align with state/territory strategic infrastructure priorities Correspondence from the local council or land manager must be provided acknowledging their consent for the project Projects must be compliant with Community Cricket Facility Guidelines Funding beneficiary must provide a post-completion acquittal on the funded project/s Applicants are strongly encouraged to register their project with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) If your project does not meet the funding guidelines, please make contact with your relevant State Infrastructure Manager to discuss how we may be able to assist you to develop your project or seek other funding opportunities. 4 I ACIF GUIDELINES ACIF GUIDELINES I 5

Your State and Territory Association will announce when the ACIF is open for applications in your local area and can assist in developing projects and completing the application form. The level of documentation expected to be provided with your application varies for minor and major funding categories.
